  1. People seem to forget that the signs of contagion in the UK were brought into stark focus with the run on Northern Rock. This happened in September 2007, a good 7/8 months before the Lookers was demolished. This incident focussed the eyes of the world on capital markets in the UK and many began predicting the UK would become the worst hit economy of all the developed economies quite soon after this event. Poor planning is quite apt. However, I dont agree that the new stand should be ready. The major problem was the whatever business case was put together by TTA for the investment, doesnt appear to have had much sensitivity analysis or any plan B hence the rather hastily announced plan to move to Failsworth (note this is not a comment in support of or against a move).
  2. It'll be about £14 without - will look into the train there. Not sure I'll come back that early. How long does the journey take?
  3. Not the OASIS way but depending on what times you have booked (stupidly early going and late back), you could redeem yourself....
  4. Corrected it for you. Contrary to reports, we are not here taking part in the International Provincial Town Street Fighting Championships although there are a few special people here
  5. He's a bad Fulham fan as well. One of those "I'll only go when someone else is paying types". He then even tries to lead the locals astray....
  6. Sounds to me from the Physio that it could be an evulsion fracture of his ankle. Essentially, what happens is that on twisting the ankle, the ligaments that are attached to the lower fibula (I think) can tear off. They can do this and take bone with them leaving small hairline fractures (hence the reference to small bones nearby). I have done this before (drunkenly not through sports) and it can be very painful. It's a good 3-6 months out if this turns out to be the case. Is it the same ankle that was previously injured? If so, did we do enough to strengthen the ankle before he came back?
  7. I wont be there so I'm out so to speak......
  8. This probably means you will be more than welcome....... Clapham can be a good night out but being at the football earlier in the day doesnt stop that!! Just ask Zorro. He loves to go to the football and then drag people out later
  9. Bridges were burnt after: Showing up on time (actually early) in The Chandos Being sober when entering The Valley Being sober when leaving The Valley
  10. Ah, but what you do admit is that you bought the shot and therefore, I cannot be liable to my behaviour after this point. It's written in the instruction manual.....
  11. Thats not the way I remember it mate..... There was one of us debating for The Roxy and one of us wanting desperately to go home......
  12. It was a reasonably gentle day on the booze front until about 9pm ;) I didnt think it was a great game as evidenced by already having a half time pint at 3.40. We went there to do a job and achieved our objective. We offered little going forward and broke the game up well with most of our players doing a job. My concern was the lack of pace out of midfield. Our "jet heeled" winger from Bradford had clearly broken his engines......
  13. I used to make most home games from SW London - probably not short of 500 mile round trip. I had a season ticket until this season but for whatever reason lost the "bug" to some extent. Last year I think I made 15 home and 19 away. Not too bad. Tomorrow, like Zorro, will only be my 3rd game of the season which is an appalling show....
  14. A fantastic random comment Ryan. Well done....
  15. His performance at Brentford was quite impressive!!!
  16. After... he's not allowed to before.... His initiation ceremony will only involve his arse if Andy is allowed to be involved in the planning ;)
  17. Where is that kidnap winky thing?!?! He'll be fine writing the match report having had a few. It will make it entertaining!! Overland takes you from Charing Cross to London Bridge in under 10 mins so we should be fine either way
  18. Get your arse to The Chandos. You've got an initiation to do!!!! If we're as punctual as usual, we'll get off the train in Charlton at 3 and be in the ground for 3.15. I must admit I thought it was closer than 30 mins?
  19. I'll be there around 1230 after a similar activity. Should keep the day cheaper this one (or more boozy....)
  20. Whatever your preference. I have a couple of friends who live in the Borough area. They could come along and... er... "judge"
  21. It'll be The George or Southwark Tavern I'd imagine. Check OASIS messageboard later this week and info should be there. If not, PM me and I'll let you know.
  22. Well, well, well. This is about as local as it gets so we could come up with some form of initiation. I'm going to assume we are meeting at London Bridge for this one. There a McDs near the station so, how do you feel about asking (making) JSS drink 5 pints in an hour (not too bad I know). However, in between each pint, he has to run from The George (or whichever pub we meet up in) buy and eat a McDs double cheeseburger. If he fails the initiation, we will force him to go to the game as his punishment ;)
