  1. Really? Citeh fans and Imre "Banana" have a lot to answer for...
  2. I remember the Hibs wrecking tour. Think it was the late 80s. Also think Hibs fans didn't know the definition of "friendly"... Friendly fire, maybe.
  3. Some moaners would say it was a "dog's dinner" of a display... If it was resurrected people would want to know where the Yarddog holders were going to sit next season in case the offending inflatables blocked their view.
  4. Agreed! I think the Yarddogs peaked at Walsall away. Anyone remember that? Quality.
  5. I have 59 according to the Facebook app. Does watching U2 at COMS count?!?! Most of my time watching Latics was in the old Second Division - together with a brief affair with the "elite" in First Div/Prem. And I've missed out on a lot by leaving the UK a season before we went down to the old Third Division ("League One"). There, that's enough excuses...
  6. Denis Law Peter Schmeichel Peter Beardsley Oops, did I misunderstand the question? "We're not part of Manchester" Have you never heard that song?
  7. Lol, I'd rather not ask Chaddy about his dimples... No? Ok then... I remember our much-loved fanzine (BTB) likening the "voting for the 1994 semi-final at Wembley" to some Eastern European country's general election...
  8. You have a point - those seven votes could have been "Superdelegates" Those votes need re-instating, if not those members have become disenfranchised...
  9. On Sunday, I saw a girl with a DK t-shirt on in Seattle. I said "Dead Kennedys, great band". She said "Thank you". That was it. Oh. Sort of a coincidence, yeah? Would love to see 'em live.
  10. As Corp (my mate, apparently) has shown, I didn't repeat what he said. I said I would be embarrassed to be in the same league as t'Dale. I've been accused of being elitist in the past but I guess my previous comments make me guilty in this case. Oh well, I won't lose any sleep over that. Dale fans think that anyway, don't they? Before I signed up, I was warned about certain aspects of this message board but FFS, this thread proves my mate's points. I agree with what "Edhunter" wrote about the sniping. It seems that the mods only censure personal abuse when it's directed at certain users. Let's see some consistency, eh? Here's a helpful link for those who've forgotten the definition: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Debate <puts tin hat on> etc., etc. ad. inf.
  11. Where have I done that? I addressed the point that although I lived close to them (as opposed to the Corp living in Hollinwood) it didn't make them more of a rival. It's similar to the ManYoo/City situation. Ask a real Utd fan who their rivals are and I bet they won't say City. And which answer are you refering me to? You have several in this thread.
  12. I have to agree with you on that one. When I first started watching Latics in the late 70s, we were an established Division 2 outfit and Rochdale were a perennial 4th Division struggling team and seen as a joke between me and my mates. Although we could see Rochdale over the back fields of Derker, in those days they had no more chance of becoming our rival as a Conservative councillor had of winning a seat in Derker. The fact that we could be in the same division is bad enough but who knows they could go on to feature in the Championship - stranger things have happened. How we would look then?
  13. I was at that match and that song has to be the most embarrassing song I have EVER heard at BP in over 30 years of going (on and off). Still it inspired Ricketts enough to score... that's if he was able to hear it
  14. I've been "exiled" for almost 12 years now and I've followed Latics from here in the USA, France and even Bristol... <starts Hovis music> When I first left Oldham in '96 there was only one Latics web site, which was a student project, I think. Its message board was not very active but it was great for me. Then there was another one ran by someone called Jimmy I think. In France I used to go on a results web site and keep refreshing the page for the score! I first got Radio Cavell's live commentary in 2001 (it was free then as well). That was an amazing progression. I've had Latics World ever since it started and seeing the goals is something I now take for granted - "You young uns don't know you're born" <stops Hovis music> Go to matches at Xmas, New Year and anytime else if I'm over (I once was over for my sister's wedding so I went to see first half at home to Stoke...) Saw 3 games this season, last one was Leeds away - get in you beauty!
  15. Only just noticed this as I had a few busy days at the end of last week My desk is at the back of the office but my monitor faces outwards so I have to be careful if someone creeps up on me. I am the only football (soccer?) fan in the office as everyone else is a yank. Although in the next cubicle (sic) a French lad and German lad have moved in recently. I told them I don't want to hear them talking about Euro 2008... I think they realized I was joking.
  16. You beat me to it - I was going to say ABU F.C... My love of ABU is well-documented on here. Trying to stay on topic but to me ManU are a similar "franchise" to the one in MK... They have no longer have any local identity etc. (you know the rest) My other second teams: Rochdale (Always looked for their results and never thought we would ever be in the same league...) Barca (Went to their ground and bought a shirt. All I need now is my armchair TV subscription. Viva Catalonia.) Celtic (Religious reasons. LOL.) Zenit St Petersburg (Just kidding!)
  17. Lol. And how will CEWE be able to handle the KTF flag on their own?
  18. Yeah, i thought that but couldn't bring myself to say it.
  19. Let the propaganda campaign begin. Sounds to me like the first shot has been fired in the latest "RRE v. Chaddy as our home end" battle. This reminds me of how "we" voted to have the 1994 semi final at Wembley instead of Maine Road...
