I saw plenty of long aimless punts forward, not much cohesion or movement. When we did have possession the options were limited. The central midfielders we started with were more akin to containment than creativity. We've now played 3 very average teams at home and haven't managed to beat any of them.....Bring on the big boys!
i agree and i don't think we have looked very dangerous in posession this season. also i can't understand why jon worthington and :censored: play together in centre midfield, they are both more defensive players and we need a crative player there

Latics fans need to get use to the present instead of living in the f**king past ! tonight there were chants of sheridan, and the abuse of brill was just unfair. Yeah im one of the people who dosent like brill or rate him one little bit. people need to cut the slagging off and just get use to what we have or dont come at all.
i agree and i felt really sorry for dean brill tonight, his body language was very bad after half time. i like john sheridan and don't think we should have sacked him but chanting his name is no help and it can't be justified at this point of the season. some of tonight's support was helpful though which is positive
-
I've just reilised how good we had it under him!
I'm not going to join the DP out bandwagon at the start of September, but I still think Shez should have stayed...
Thoughts?
i always say this and it was interesting to hear john sheridan's name be chanted by our supporters tonight

moaning at the moaners....the irony
it cannot be avoided. it´s annoying and after a good number of seasons trying my best to help create an atmosphere and getting in arguments in the process, i don´t want to make the effort now, though i will if others do. when we played swindon town this season i stood up to let someone by me and i was immediately shouted at to sit down! it´s pathetic

i think for this lad to make a real impact in the team we need him until at least january ! but i am hoping penny liked what he saw from him and could get something done for rest of the season
he played well but for me it's too early to want this player for a longer period
-
If you can sort your own digs i got a mega bus code to come back on a weds morning?
where are you staying..?
-

The form reads:
Does anyone know from prior experience if this means '21 and under' or strictly 'under 21'?
For the record, I still think this scheme is ridiculous regardless of whether it's up to and including 21. I don't get why the club feel the need to make all students have to buy membership before they can get concessionary rates...no other club I've come across makes people do it because it's ridiculous. It surely costs the club money - for instance I've got four friends coming up next weekend...none of them would pay 20 quid to watch L1 football but they would come for a tenner.
a intermediary season ticket is only for ages 16 to 19 and i find this confusing why it isnt 16 to 21. the student membership you speak of here therefore encourages students older than 19 to pay concessionary rates rather than pay for an adult season ticket. surely latics should change the intermediary season ticket age to 16 to 21 so it is more likely we have more season ticket holders?

i think his attitude was inspirational, especially considering the number of times he had cancer. he is a legend rip
-
after we played walsall away last season, i saw him leaving the stadium after the match. it was confusing

i think the new home end should be called the ernie cooksey stand ...
this is a generous idea and i understand that what i am going to say is sensitive but there are many players who have played for latics and have died. many of these players were a lot better than ernie cooksey and i also think, in a good number of years he won't be so well remembered. for me he is not a legend, he didn't even play many times for us and he wasn't good enough to be a legend. however, i appreciate his contribution to latics and i support the idea of a memorial, but not to name a stand after him
-
better not keep that oldham athletic lettering on the side of the main stand, christ how friggin old is that, might be a could idea to get rid of that foreign girl in the club shop, about as much use as a chocolate fireguard....
she really is

why, again are latics fans looking backwards? it is depressing
-
has been relesed from yeovil would anyone have him back i was a fan of his when he was at latics and if was being honest i would like to see him back
ohh dear

if we consider the value of cristiano ronaldo is £80million then for me the value of chris taylor is more than£750000
-
gk dean brill- £1000
lb- we have jacobson i reck about £700
cb- ian breckin- £1500
cb- trotman on a season long loan 50% wage contribution is realistic of about £1250 i say
rw- purdie already in- about £800 max
cm- worthington is on about £1000 i would think
cm- furman0 £900 per week
st- billy clarke- £1000
st- goalscorer penney may temp heffernan as hes a sub at donny, worked with him at donny- persuade them to release him give him a good £1800 a week
There you go total weekly wage of £9950 and they are realistic offers dont you think for players that would be decent
add a couple of loans where the respective club pay majority of wage not bad
i think guessing this is pointless and some of these players arent ours. it is uneducated
-
I think its stupid. whast the point in having 7 subs when you can only make 3 changes ?
i think they should just keep it to 5
it gives a manager more choices with which to change a team when needed, it provides opportunities for competition, helps to keep players happy and give youth players experience

That make's no sense whatsoever. English please. The BNP arent Oldham based. The only people having negative views of Oldham are the narrow minded one's who instantly think of the race riots when the word Oldham is mentioned. BNP elected or not, wont change those people's views and it has absolutely nothing to do with Latics in the slightest. I think the games around the time of the riots when there was National Front members giving away their "bulldog paper" on sheepfoot lane was a more negative image directly linked to Latics than anything to do with the BNP and the town of Oldham.
Personally i'm not overly interested. I'm not really into Politics. A load of people out of touch with the working class who cant make a decision. I didnt vote, so cant really moan about who got in, who didnt or what not. I dont get how those who didnt go out and vote (in what was a ridiculously shocking turnout) can grumble about the BNP or any other party for that matter. You could of done something about it, but far too many people in this country couldnt care less about voting or quite frankly, see no one worthy of their vote.
I'm not suprised people have voted BNP in big numbers, or there reasons for doing so. People in this country are fed up and if they feel a vote for the BNP in their mind is worthwhile then so be it. There decision. There vote. End of.
Dont know about locally to anyone else, but there was only one party campaigning in the build up to the elections around my area............guess who that was?
I couldn't change this cause i dont live in oldham but it doesnt give a good image of the town to people like me and so it doesn't give a good image of latics. This is a step backward in my opinion and oldham is one of the worst places I have been to anyway
-
Well done Oldham, you've put the fascist scum in!
It's quite worrying, they don't stand for Britain at all, both me, my siblings, and both my parents were born in Britain, but they'd kick me out of the country because 1 set of my grandparents were Irish!
Its been said that there views run parallel with the Nazis .... time will tell how they handle the responsibilty of there new power
i think this is bad for latics also. my opinion, and i think it will be similar to that of many, is that the bnp are a negative for oldham. also i dont think they will help give latics a good image. when we spoke of redevelpoment of boundary park it was said that it is necessary for the town oldham to further itself also and i really dont think this will help. for me oldham is one of the worst places i have been too and change is very necessary, although for me it hasn't really looked likely as a cause of an apparent general lack of optimism. with the bnp i think there is even less chance of these changes happening.

Scunthorpe this season, were not the best squad of players in our division but the management team made them hungry for success, gave them a drive to be winners .......
Leeds, great squad but the players didnt want it enough....
If a young player isnt hungry for being in the first team and collecting their win bonus, I dont want them in the team
** In this context hungry = passion, ambition, zeal, aspiration
The management this season is more PROFESSIONAL if players dont take there game and career seriously, a loan move or Transfer will be on the cards
Top 8 next season will be the target...
what you call "proffesional" is not enough and every player with every club is "hungry, has passion, ambition, zeal and aspiration"

Been looking thro' the topics & noticed that oafcprozac is in the sheite somewhat.
Now he holds a collection of Latics memorobilia which at this moment in time
he finds himself in a position whereby he either sells, on or I presume starves
( I don't know the guy)
This got me thinking, looking at the OWTB members total, it today registers
2440 members , I don't think this amount of members are still active readers
but if there where say 2000, then lets ask those members if they would be willing
to contribute £1.00p each to buy this collection, with the option to either :
1/ Give oafcprozac the option to buy back the collection at price paid for or
2/ suggestions open to offers? ( raffle to every one involved) (sell it off as a one off
& donate to OWTB website)
comments appreciated.
i would be happy to do this
