    Absolutely gutted to hear of the passing of Gordon, from my early days travelling over from Northern Ireland for games big Gordon was always there with a warm handshake when I arrived. He was the heart and soul of Boundary Park and will be sadly missed by all. RIP my friend.

    Great to see him now officially in place, I heard from a journo over here that we approached him a while back but he wanted to finish his job at the Euros first. Being from Norn Ireland and an Oldham fan for over 30 years it couldn't have been a better match. And before anybody compares him to Kelly this is black and white between the two of them.

    Reporting over here in Norn Ireland that he's got the job and will be announced later on today.

    As and Oldham fan born and bred in Norn Ireland I think this appointment will be great for the club. Michael Oneil had got all the praise for our excellent upturn in fortunes on the international scene. But Steve Robinson has played a major part in that not to mention him being responsible for checking out players around the lower leagues that could play for us.
