  1. In response, chief executive Alan Hardy, who deals with most transfers, said: “I’m waiting to hear from the manager regarding negotiations with his opposite number at the club concerned. Surely Shez tells Hardy who he wants in then its upto Hardy and co to negotiate with the club to get the lad in!!!
  2. Who's holding the deal back us or the players club if Shez/Player thought it had been done?!
  3. We have probably just found out how much he is earning at Donny.. Striker should have been lined up before Davies went out on loan Hughes and Lewi for Saturday I think.
  4. Striker hold up could be because byfield is injured!!! ankle injury kept him out of the Wednesday game..
  5. The Byfield loan is with a view to a permanent move January would that be holding up the arrival wages etc? According to reports Byfield has sorted out his release from Donny who will no allow him to move. I would imagine any hold up now is down to the player and wages.
  6. todays Mirror says Byfield will join on loan after negotiating a release from Donny its a view to a permenant move in January..
  7. How about Izale McLeod big strong and quick will score plenty at this level was on the verge of signing for Hudds last season but Col U got in at the last minute so no probs with coming up North.. Been told he can go out on loan by Charlton scored in his last three reserve games back from injury.
  8. Hoping to conclude the signing of Byfield in next 48 hours.. Tonights Chron says striker unlikely to sign this week as the player in question would not be aloud to play in Fa Cup
  9. Could well be exploding about the attitude of certain players maybe?! Surely can't be another moan at the crowd.. As to Potential signings??? Heffernan and Byfield I think..
  10. Latics look to Windass Fred Austin 2/11/2008 OLDHAM boss John Sheridan has made moves to take veteran striker Dean Windass on loan. But he faces stiff competition to sign the 39-year-old Hull City hit-man who has had talks with manager Phil Brown about his future. Sheridan is looking for more firepower after failing to score in three of their last four games. Sheridan revealed: "I have asked about Dean and so have loads of other club, we will have to wait and see what happens. "I have let players go on loan and it gives me the opportunity to bring one or two in. "I have inquired about strikers playing at a higher level and I will be following that up this week. I have also asked about other strikes who are playing at a higher level." Under-achieving Sheridan, who also wants to bring in a defender, added: "I want to freshen things up as well as make us stronger."
  11. yeah seem to be linked with him over the last few pre-seasons..
  12. Darren Byfield is who Shez wants.. How come Davies didn't go for a month if he was to get first team games like O'Grady and Ormerod?
  13. Think this move would have been before the Ormerod loan move like mentioned. Can't see Shez extending Ormerods stay for another month. Do we need another striker or will we bring O'Grady back after his month at Bury? Liam Dickinson would be a good call when his loan runs out at Hudds.
  14. Can't see anything in the neal deal unless Wolves knock us back with extending the Jones loan. I think its centre backs we are struggling with how about Tratman or is he injured?
  15. Either Davies, O'Grady or The Wolf must be moving out to allow for Ormerod. What do we think a good partner for Hughes? Didn't he go out on loand to Forest last season?
  16. Ormerod set for loan move Brett Ormerod could be heading to Oldham Preston North End's out-of-favour striker Brett Ormerod looks to be on the verge of joining League One promotion hopefuls Oldham Athletic on loan. The 31-year-old, who has not kicked a ball in the first team this season, was believed to be at Boundary Park on Tuesday morning for talks with manager John Sheridan. Ormerod, who has not started a game for North End in 2008, has been frustrated by a lack of football at Deepdale. He was in the side when boss Alan Irvine took over last November, but started only three games under the new regime before slipping out of the picture. He last made the starting eleven in early December when Preston beat Hull City 3-0 at Deepdale. But since then has managed only five brief substitute appearances for the club, a total of 52 minutes play in 10 months. If the deal goes through Ormerod could come into the reckoning to partner Lee Hughes against second-placed Leicester City at Boundary Park at the weekend.
  17. We must extend the loan until the end of the season the lad is class.. Can see him joining a Championship club in January. Looks like he's enjoying his time here already mentioned he'd like to extend his stay
  18. I think they did last saturday they now have another tomorrow with player shirts and shorts still left, also training kit, coats and shower tops..
  19. Any good? they have a second tomorrow did anyone go lastweek if so how much were the shirts shorts etc? Cheers..
  20. Tonights Chron :- Athletic keep a close eye on the market, raising the chance that manager John Sheridan will recruit another new face before Sunday’s game. Looks like Thommo wont be given a chance should Byrne not sign a new deal...
  21. Very pleased with the signing of Jones lets hope he can form a good partnership with Taylor down the left. Anyone know if we have an option of taking him on long term loan??? As for the boots if he produces the goods he can wear what he likes on his feet..
  22. We can't play Maher and Allot together it just wont work we created nothing against Millwall until Danny came on.. Shame Kieran is injured as this could have been the chance he needs. Lets just hope Danny pulls through as he has been great so far..
  23. Will strech the defence this with Gregan still suspended! Lomax to right back Byrne in at left then Stam and Ruben in the middle!! Good job we arent playing Leicester.. Nothing silly Friday no red cards for the back four or we could be seing Thommo back
  24. David Williams United striker around 6 weeks from ftiness from 7th July so this week then.. Oldham Athletic have signed former Manchester United striker David Williams. The 17-year-old was released by the Premiership Champions earlier in the summer. Williams told his new club’s official website: “The damage needed an operation and I’m still about six weeks away from fitness, but I’m so pleased to be here and the physios have been brilliant with me so far. “It’s frustrating, because when you join a new club you want to be out on the training ground and getting to know the lads. But I’ll have to patient on that front, and hopefully my chance will come.” He continued: “I’m swimming at the moment but to be honest there’s not really much more I can do, so it’s really a case of taking things step by step. Running is about three weeks away and that’s when I’ll really be able to step it up. “I think I’m a player who can make things happen as well as score a few goals and I can’t wait to get an opportunity to express myself when I get fit.” He added: “I’ve been speaking to [Oldham striker] Lee Hughes already - he’s a player with lots of experience and I know I still have lots to learn. “I’m looking forward to working with players like Lee and Craig Davies because they are very good at what they do. “Obviously I will have to play a few games at reserve level first, but I want to be pushing for the first team eventually - that’s my aim.”
