  1. Sturridge on loan for the season would be a very good signing maybe he could bring Vladimir Weiss with him
  2. http://www.oldhamathletic.premiumtv.co.uk/...1317343,00.html
  3. Tonights Chron 1st signing could arrive within the week we are at advanced stages with an experienced outfield player Ronnie Wallwork maybe??? Also Sheridan wants Goalkeeper Greg Fleming, a leftback, left winger creative midfielder and a striker.. Possibly more depending on who leaves.
  4. were has this Kieran Lee come from is he they guy that was mentioned in the pub on here????? or is there some truth in the rumour seems to have spread to a few latics forums that hes signing this week.. QPR seem to think we have no chance and that he will be going Championship at least...
  5. signings wont happen overnight as stated they take weeks of negotiations with agents and other clubs.. We could have offered Spicer, O'Connor, and lets say Livermore a contract but until agents have explored every avenue for them we will not see anyone arriving. Most signings take place 1st week in July when contracts expire, players can sign pre-contracts but its highly unlikely knowing that they maybe able to get more money if they hang fire..
  6. No loss much better released players that have been mentioned on here to target.. If we move quick enough that is
  7. Would much rather take a look at ther likes of Spicer, O'Brien, O'Connor and Spring. If he was coming as a squad player then fair enough but I wouldnt offer him much..
  8. ATHLETIC’S owners have reacted with “huge disappointment” after seeing a major fall in crowds at Boundary Park. Last season’s average league gate plummeted by 16 per cent – or just over 1,000 fans per game – and cost the club an estimated £345,000 in revenue. The average attendance was 5,327, compared with 6,334 the previous year, and was the lowest since season 2000/2001. Managing director Simon Corney warned that he and his fellow owners were not a bottomless pit of cash and, as such, they may need to look at the manager’s budget. He said: “We will stem the flow and keep the team competitive, but there comes a point when you can’t swim against the tide any longer. “I don’t want people thinking we’ll walk away – that definitely won’t happen – but we’ve always said we are custodians of the club with a finite amount of money to spend. “There is a superb hard core of fans, but you can’t support a League One club on the basis of 3,500 people being loyal. “You’ve got to ask whether Oldham can sustain a League One club – do the people want to come here and give us the help we need? “I hear various reasons for people not coming to games but, to be honest, I think most of them are easy excuses. “We’ve tried everything to get more fans into the ground and these schemes don’t seem to work, which is also the case at most other clubs. “We certainly aren’t alone in having a fall in crowds and, whatever the reason might be, it seems to be a deteriorating operation at this level. “There’s so much football on television and it’s very hard to compete – you get Tuesday nights when we are at home to Hartlepool and Manchester United are playing Milan. “What can we do? We froze our ticket prices last year, saw crowds go down significantly and then froze them again for next season. “We aren’t an unlimited pot of money and we can’t do that for ever, so maybe we’ll have to cut our cloth accordingly. “It’s a huge disappointment which impacts on the manager’s budget because if we lose 1,000 people per game, we lose around £345,000 over the season. “I think we have the biggest budget in our league in relation to crowds and – although we’ll keep spending money and we recognise that football isn’t cheap to watch – you need a bit of help when you are trying to build a Championship team.”
  9. Schofield has signed a pre-contract with Yeovil he will move 1st July so thats out of the question..
  10. not a chance.. think rumour was all it was in January
  11. Spring would be a good signing as would Bell wages may be a stumbling block though..
  12. Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson will make a £25m bid for England defender Micah Richards. (News of the World & People) Is it a 20% sell on clause we have?
  13. I think we may be seeing Ronnie Wallwork in our midfied next season. Sure Shez will be back in for Leon Clarke and Danny Schofield would be a good signing for the left.
  14. Set to sign a new 2 year extension this summer as his 75k a week contract runs out next summer.
  15. Wotton among five to leave Argyle Wotton made his Argyle debut as a 17-year-old in 1995 (Getty) Club captain Paul Wotton is among five senior players set to leave Plymouth when their deals expire this summer. The 30-year-old has played 439 games for Argyle, and captained his only club to two promotions in 2002 and 2004. Striker Nick Chadwick, 25, will also be released, along with veterans Lilian Nalis and Lee Hodges. Goalkeepers Luke McCormick and Romain Larrieu have signed extended deals, but full-back Paul Connolly is set to leave after refusing a new contract. Youngsters Reuben Reid and Jake Moult are also set to depart after not being offered new deals. I have never worked with a more dedicated or honest footballer Paul Sturrock on Paul Wotton Speaking to the club's website, manager Paul Sturrock said his decision not to offer a new contract to Wotton was taken after a lot of soul-searching. "He was in the first Argyle side I ever picked, for an FA Cup-tie at Chester in 2000, and the fact that he was the last-man standing from that team - eight years and three divisions later - speaks volumes for the man," said Sturrock. "I can honestly say that I have never worked with a more dedicated or honest footballer. His commitment to his profession should be held up as an example to anyone who wants to play the game. "I toyed with offering him a short-term contract, but, in the end, I felt that would have been an insult to someone who has played nearly 450 games for the club. I have too much respect for him to do that. "He may prove my judgment wrong - and that wouldn't be a first for him - and come back to bite us on the bum, but managers are paid to make big calls, however tough, and I have made mine."
  16. Striker on trial from Wigan pie eating friend of mine says he has a very good strike rate at youth and reserve level.. Plays tonight
  17. Gavin Rotheray here on trial from Leeds played for reserves yesterday also notic Bomba-Lita played wasnt he on his way to Chelsea with Danny Philliskirk?
  18. The result of tomorrow’s game will have a bearing on whether Athletic try to extend Leon Constantine’s loan spell from Leeds United which ends this weekend. Sheridan said: “I would like to keep Leon and he has improved with each game, having been out for most of the season. A lot depends on finance as Leon is on decent money at Leeds and more than we can really afford. But if we win at Swindon, I would definitely like to him to stay.”
  19. was on his way to Fulham during the January transfer window but never made it!!!!
  20. Maybe not on his way... RUFC - O'Grady plays for Reserves Chris O'Grady, who had reportedly 'packed his bags' and left Millmoor played the full forty-five minutes of the second half of the Reserves win against Lincoln this afternoon at Millmoor. This is rather puzzling after it was reported that he might be joining Oldham Athletic after he has served his fourteen days notice for refusing to sign a wage deferral on Friday.
  21. Bradley Hudson-Odoi Ghana U21 international big quick striker can also play out on either wing looks to have good write ups on net abit like our other Fulham lad Lino.
