  2. No chance papers this morning say City won't sell a move to Arsenal for 10 million would be nice didn't Chelsea offer 18 million last season?
  3. Come from a Donny Mad site!! Lets just hope Shez gets some of the money to replace him.. Over to Bury for Bishop hopefully
  4. Yes I would have him back tomorrow and if Donny win tonight are they ment to be signing Hughes? so we would have the money for wages and a fee.. Don't think we would replace Hughes with having Deano, Davies, Lewi, Smalley, O'Grady and Wolf okay the last three wont get you goals but the first three will with the service of a creative midfielder
  5. Kilkenny's absence from Leeds line-up alerts rivals Published Date: 20 January 2009 By Richard Sutcliffe LEEDS UNITED midfielder Neil Kilkenny is understood to be attracting interest from a handful of League One clubs. The 23-year-old Australian international has made 21 appearances for the Elland Road club this season but is yet to feature under new manager Simon Grayson. Since the departure of Gary McAllister, Kilkenny has been named on the bench just once – the Boxing Day draw with Leicester City – and that has alerted several clubs to his possible availability. It is not known if Leeds would be willing to part with a player who they captured from Birmingham City for £150,000 a little over a year ago after pipping Doncaster Rovers to his signature. But that has not dissuaded a host of possible suitors from keeping tabs on Kilkenny with several clubs expected to be represented at tonight's reserve team game against Barnsley at Elland Road when Alan Sheehan and David Prutton are also set to feature. The midfielder, who is understood to have been the subject of an enquiry by Doncaster, played for his country in last year's Olympics and has made 40 appearances for Leeds. He was in the United side beaten by Doncaster at Wembley in the League One play-off final. Before joining Leeds, he had a successful four-month spell on loan at Oldham Athletic.
  6. lynskey have your laugh now I'm sure the whole of league one are with you.. Roll on Saturday and boy will you see a backlash I'm sure Gregan, Hughes, Windass and Allott can't wait for Stockport to turn up.. 7. any chance of the full back being Shaleum Logan from City? would do a good job for us
  8. DEANO NOT HUGHES REPLACEMENT - SHEZ Posted on: Fri 16 Jan 2009 Manager John Sheridan has slammed suggestions that striker Dean Windass has been signed to replace 14-goal top scorer Lee Hughes. Hughes, 32, has been a vital part of Athletic's armoury this morning and scored again in the 2-1 win over Hartlepool at Boundary Park. Meanwhile 39-year-old Windass made an encouraging debut and was unlucky not to score, striking a post and the crossbar. The rumour mill continues to link Hughes with a move away from the club, but Sheridan is keen to keep his leading marksman at Boundary Park. "I've heard people say that Deano has come in to replace Hughesy and there's absolutely no way that's true," he explained. "I want Hughesy at this club and I want all my best players at this club. "People look at Deano and Hughesy and see two goalscorers who have played at the highest level. "I hope they will cause teams a lot of problems and help out the players around them. "Deano's all about his awareness and touch, and he made us look better in possession on Monday because we kept the ball in the opposition's half for longer periods. "They are both excellent players and I am sure they will form agood partnership."
  9. Sheff Utd have just offered 400k for Jamie Ward at Chesterfield.. Dragging on this now if he wants to go and not looking to sign a contract with us cash him in and spend 100k on Bishop at Bury. How much will Donny get for beating Cheltenham is the Villa game on BBC or something?
  10. Lee did a good job for QPR at fullback they also wanted to sign him up so can't be that bad
  11. Big centre half Anthony Kay came from Barnsley would be a very good signing think he moved into midfield this season for Tranmere due to injuries..
  12. Dickinson will be an excellent signing Grayson was after him at Blackpool they also want Claud Davies from Derby
  13. Windass has eye on return to Wembley with Oldham 15 January 2009 By HULL CITY'S Wembley hero Dean Windass is already plotting a return to the scene of his finest hour – and a possible showdown with either Leeds United or Huddersfield Town. The 39-year-old last week bade a reluctant farewell to the Tigers by joining Oldham Athletic on loan after a fairytale two-year spell that peaked with 'that' promotion-clinching goal against Bristol City last May. Typically, Windass made an immediat impact on his Latics debut by hitting the crossbar and producing a fine all-round display in Monday night's 2-1 victory over Hartlepool United. The win was enough to power John Sheridan's side up to third place where they enjoy a significant advantage over Yorkshire duo Huddersfield and Leeds in the race for the League One play-offs. Despite that, Windass is expecting both White Rose clubs to make a strong challenge for a place in the top six during the second half of the season – and a possible return trip to Wembley on May 24, a date that the Hull-born striker will never forget. He told the Yorkshire Post: "It was a brilliant feeling to be back playing on Monday night for Oldham. After the game, my wife said it was the first time she had seen my teeth in ages because I had not smiled for such a long time. "It has been a frustrating few months for me and I have been taking that home so I think she is just as pleased as me that I am back playing. "I was really impressed with Oldham, too. The win over Hartlepool has put Oldham in a position where they have every chance of reaching the play-offs. Or, if results go our way, maybe even automatic promotion. "The main thing, though, is to ensure we are in at least the top six by the end of the season to give us a crack at the play-offs. "And with the final being on May 24 – exactly one year to the day since my goal at Wembley for Hull City – then maybe it is written in the stars for a return. I hope so." The Windass family home has remained in West Yorkshire for the past decade despite the travels that have taken in stops at Bradford City (twice), Middlesbrough, both Sheffield clubs and Hull. He added: "If Oldham can get to the final and play either Huddersfield or Leeds, then that would be brilliant – even though I would, ideally, like to see both of them go up. "My son Josh is 15 and he plays for Huddersfield's Academy team so I want them to do well. They have done well lately and look to have every chance of getting in the play-offs. "It is the same with Leeds. I know a lot of Leeds fans seem to think I don't like them but that is not the case. I live in West Yorkshire so want Leeds – and my old club Bradford, for that matter – to do well. "The more Yorkshire sides that we can get into the Championship, the better. It would be great for the whole area – as long as it is not at the expense of Oldham, of course." Windass's departure from the KC Stadium brought to an end an amazing fairytale return to the club where it all started in the Nineties under Terry Dolan. Scoring the goals that kept Hull in the Championship in 2006-07 and then netting the winner at Wembley to end a 104-year wait for top-flight football means his legendary status in the city is assured. Nevertheless, his final few months at the KC were difficult for Windass after he was reduced to being a frustrated spectator by Phil Brown's desire to go with younger legs. Some believe the 39-year-old should have quit the Tigers after the Wembley triumph, but even allowing for how this season has turned out Windass does not agree. He said: "I never wanted to leave but it is a fact of life as a footballer that, sometimes, you have to move on. "I could have stayed at Hull, picking up my money. But that is not me. "It is a shame it ended negatively but I still have no regrets about not leaving at the end of last season as some people are suggesting now. "The only regret I have is not being given an opportunity to prove myself in the Premier league. I still think I could have done well for Hull City. "But that is gone now. I have no bad feelings towards Phil Brown, even though we didn't speak for the last couple of weeks. What matters now is the future." High on Windass's list of priorities is saying a proper goodbye to the City fans who gave him such fantastic support during two spells with the club. He added: "I wish I could have said my goodbyes properly, but the good thing is I should get the chance in my benefit game at the end of the season. "It is being planned at the moment and should be between Hull City and an ex-Tigers side with people like Steve McClaren and Brian Marwood being involved. "All we are just waiting for is FA clearance."
  14. If Smalley does leave I don't think a replacement will be signed we already have Lids and Lee who before Monday seem to be before Smalley.. Left back has now got to be a priority a young lad George Friend who Wolves signed from Exeter for 500k isnt playing much maybe worth a look he's around forth choice at Wolves.
  15. May do him some good if Shez won't play him I wouldn't send him to Stockport though or any rivals
  16. Were does O'Toole play apart from Watford lol and is he a better prospect than Taylor? Wolves not willing to pay anywere near 1 million for him... Wolves call halt to O’Toole chaseWolves have ended their interest in John Joe O’Toole after Watford quoted £1m for the midfielder. O’Toole has attracted an undisclosed bid from Molineux, but once that was rejected, the club have moved on target other players. Wolves don’t believe the 20-year-old is worth anywhere near Watford’s valuation, while Molineux sources say reports of a player plus cash bid and a loan enquiry are untrue. O’Toole started the season with seven goals – including one in an impressive display in Wolves’ 3-2 win at Vicarage Road – in his first 11 games. But he has only notched one in 15 matches since and is now struggling to command a regular place in Brendan Rogers’ Hornets line-up.
  17. No if 1 million comes I think he will be talking to Wolves and good luck to the lad.. He will need replacing asap lets just hope Shez has a left winger lined up ready to come in if Taylor goes. Any chance of Danny Jones as part of the deal
  18. Can only see this happening if Davies or Taylor goes the other way as mentioned why would Leeds help us out in our promotion push?? Then again Constantine!!
  19. Yeah seen him at halftime lad in the toilet que shouted if he was coming back he just laughed and said 'I dont't think so mate' went off towards the lounge near the turnstiles.. We do need someone creative in midfield as Whittaker is off his game at the minute but I don't think KK would come back. Sam Hewson creative midfielder rated highly at Man Utd has joined Hereford on loan for a month
  20. No chance Bantam, He looks class and will only get better with games played. Lets just hope he has one last fairy tale ending at Wembley in him.
  21. First half outstanding could be playing in the Championship no problems great touch and vision unlucky not to get his goal bar from the freekick and a header against the post.. Second faded but as expected Deano needs games now a great signing.. roll on Hereford
  22. Yep they are riddled by injuries one fit striker no chance of playing it this week coming
