  1. He was on the bench, wasn't on the pitch when it was scored
  2. I'd try to control myself the night before a match I do think Lids and Hughes will link up very well though and with Gregan hopefully back soon they should provide the team with a huge boost
  3. it certainly does have the batman style light, it illuminates the sky above shaw regularly
  4. He'll score the winning goal against crewe in the dying minutes to send us into the playoffs
  5. He was playing out of position though after the first ten minutes. The best part of his game is making runs forward through the middle, when he is asked to push out on the right he can't do that. I thought he still did ok although cerainly not one of his better performances but i think that could be said for a few of them. Would have been a fantastic goal at the end if it had gone in!
  6. There was lots of booing where i was sat too, especially aimed at Davies but they all seemed to shut up after he scored. I thought we played well in patches today but played pretty crap at some stages too. Still its another 3 points and our first back to back wins at home all season. I do wish we would play with two proper wide players though
  7. i did, but i kept changing my mind! I chose Eyres more out of sentiment than ability i suppose. They were both fantastic players but Eyres never got the chance to show it at a level higher than the championship
  8. Rick Holden or David Eyres (that one is impossible to choose!!) Joe Royle or Jimmy Frizzell Luke Beckett or Chris Porter Earl Barrett or Fitz Hall Neil Kilkenny or Richie Wellens Wayne Andrews or Jermaine Johnson Ronnie Jepson or Phil Starbuck Sean Garnett or Guy Branston Roger Palmer or Frankie Bunn Neil Redfern or John Sheridan Jim Fryatt or David Shaw - didnt see Fryatt play and don't recall seeing Shaw play either Dennis Irwin or Andy Barlow Toddy Orlygsson or Gunnar Halle Andy Goram or Paul Gerrard - can't really remember much abt Goram in his first spell
  9. Shez spends most games telling Davies stay in the middle, and telling Taylor to attack the back post when the ball is coming in from the right, constantly repeating himself for 90mins game after game. It's no wonder he's a grumpy most of the time!! I didn't go to Swansea but i've been told Shez did pull him out wide later in the game as he was getting wound up by one of the centre halfs
  10. His flowing locks are very nice though I agree Stam makes a few errors in games, as does Gregan, but all players do it's just that centre halfs mistakes are remembered though because they often lead to chances for the other team. It's good that we will have 3 (4 when Thompson is back) very good centre halfs all fighting for 2 positions in the team, same in midfield, we have some excellent midfield players all fighting for a chance in the starting 11
  11. I'd have him straight back in the line up too as soon as he is ready, a few reserve games first and a game or two on the bench then back into the back 4. An excellent centre half for us, alright he's had a few bad games for us as well, but his pro's certainly outweight his cons. Plus he actually speaks to the other players on the pitch! i have never seen a quieter team of players on the football pitch than we have!
  12. I meant in the match day squad, Black and Wolfenden on the bench too
  13. What i thought was great about last night was there were 8 players who all came through our youth system played some very good football, its something the club should be proud of.
  14. Lomax took the corners at a recent home game and he seemed to do ok, i'm surprised he didn't take them last night
  15. Good signing if its the guy im thinking of, did he play at Wigan for a while?
  16. Taylor has played the majority of his first team games on the left wing and he did ok there last season. Putting him on the right wing is not the answer he will still struggle until he improves on some areas of his game, which i am sure he will do in time. All he needs a couple of good runs in a game and his confidence will come flooding back
  17. I thought he did ok on Saturday, he was poor at the beginning of the game and Page was all over him but he seemed to settle down ok, there were certainly worse than him playing on saturday
  18. Wolfy and Hughes up front, Taylor and Smalley on the wings, Allot and Macca central midfield, Eardley and Lomax at full back, Trotman and Stam at centre half and super Crossley in goal. 2-0 win for us to spark and unbeaten home run until the end of the season
  19. I dont want shez sacking but should he leave for any reason, stan ternant was considered for the job and was interested in it before we got ronnie moore, someone like him would be fantastic for us, he has loads of contacts within the game - i mean he managed to get ian wright and gazza playing for burnley - which is one thing i think shez is missing, i know he knows people he played alongside but that doesnt help him in getting players in. Anyway im sure i'll get slated for that suggestion but never mind!! I voted for shez in
  20. I heard that Chris Armstrong is available from Sheff Utd, he will probably get snapped up by another championship club but we can hope!
  21. Did i say i know more than shez about football? no i didnt. All i said was that he still has thing to learn about being a manager and he would be the first to admit that. I have never once had a go at Shez, i never have at any of our managers and never will but this is a message board where people are allowed to voice their opinions whatever they maybe, people seem to be forgetting that though these last few weeks I have not critised anyone for trying to sign good players, i said it would be fantastic if we could get them but perhaps he should concentrate on players we have more of a chance of signing He has some money to spend, not millions but some and hopfully he will finally find the players he wants who we can afford.
  22. Yes i would like us to spend that much on a player from league 2 if shez thought he was good enough for us, why not?
  23. There are decent players in our league and the league below us who are better than what we have. He is after championship players, which if we could get them would be fantastic but we can't. He's finally admitted that he has been fighting a losing battle with that, sadly money talks in football now. Fair play to him for wanting to bring in that quality of player but it isn't going to happen. Shez still has a lot to learn about being a manager, i'm not one of those to start saying we should sack him and get someone else in, far from it, hopefully he will manage to bring in some quality league one players in the next week or so.
  24. Crossley Eardley Trotman Stam Lomax Smalley/Wolfy Allot Macca Taylor Hughes Smalley/Wolfy or Crossley Eardley Trotman Stam Lomax Allot Kalala Smalley Macca Wolfy Hughes
