  1. I like a some Charlton fans got elected for the local council so they were able to develop the ground. I could be wrong though
  2. It all depends on what TTA decide to do i suppose, whether they choose to stay and look at other options or leave. Until we know that there is not much anyone can do. Moving to another local town or a ground share with someone are both options but we need to know whats happening with regards to the clubs owners first.
  3. There are already other football teams in Tameside though, Droylsden, Stalybridge, Ashton and possibly some others and i'm pretty sure they wouldn't appreciate us setting up camp in their town, imagine if City or United decided they were going to build their new stadium in Oldham, i don't think we'd be very happy about it
  4. My dad is a director on the trust, he has been since the beginning i think, and when he got voted in he didn't know anyone else on the trust. He puts a lot of work in gives up a lot of his time to try and help the club. A lot of work goes on that other people don't see. The trust seem to be disliked by quite a few fans and i can't think why, all they do is give up their own time to try and help the club. If you do want to help the club and are willing to give up some of your free time then stand, you would have a good chance of getting voted on
  5. Thats sorted the right back slot out then. Just need a goalkeeper now!
  6. I got told on saturday that he was in back in full training. Obviously if he's not then thats Macca at right back but i don't like our midfield with both Kalala and Allot there, they both play exactly the same kind of game
  7. We've had much worse players than Thompson at the club, i'll admit he hasn't had the best starts for us but i do think if he's given a chance then he will do ok.
  8. Lids is club captain but Gregan is team captain as he is more of a leader on the field. If Lids isn't fit for Saturday then i would think it will be either Smalley or Allot on the right as we have no cover for left wing, probably Smalley as Kilkenny is away so Allot in the middle with McDonald and probably Thompson at right back
  9. Josh Bell was on the bench wasn't he? So if Shez had wanted to then the option was there. I don't blame Crossley for us not winning the game though, he wasn't fit that was very clear, he did what he could but unnfortunatley couldn't stop the 2nd goal which normally he would have saved. If we hadn't had wasted countless chances at the other end then it wouldnt have mattered. Stams clearance for the first goal wasn't that good but then he was shattered after about 60 mins which is understandable having had all that time out injured and then thrown into the first team due to injuries. It was a game we should have won but we didnt, and thats due to the whole team not just one player
  10. If Shez and Corney are arguing then good, they should be. Not one of them wants us to be in position we are in and if they are both annoyed about it then it shows they care and know that we need to improve. If they players are arguing about performances then thats good as well as they know that they need to improve, if they are arguing just because they don't get on then that could cause problems. Your never going to get a squad of players who all get on but as long as they are willing to work for each other on the pitch then that doesn't matter. It's now that we will find out if Shez is a good manager, last season he had it easy - he said this himself - there was little expectation and we had a great run and a striker who was always likely to nick a goal which got us a lot of points. Now these aren't going that well and he needs to turn it around, i personally think he can.
  11. I agree with giving Wolfy a go but alongside Ricketts not Davies. Davies and Wolfy played together at Huddersfield and it didnt work, but play Wolfy alongside Ricketts and he will make more runs than Davies does and Ricketts will be able to play him in, i really think they could make an excellent partnership up front
  12. How? Fair enough if it was everynight he was out and making a fool of himself or if it was the night before a match but the players need to unwind as well, some play golf and some go out for a few drinks
  13. He thinks he is a lot better than he is, he walked at Arsenal because he fell out with their coaching staff - they don't take kindly to 'big time charlies' in their youth team, my friends brother was kicked out for doing that. Then he falls out with Bruce at Birmingham because he isn't getting as many games as he would like. He is a good player in league one, he could be a decent enough player for a mid-table team in the championship but i can't see him lighting up the premiership myself and i get the impression thats where he thinks he should be. I was glad when we signed him because until he signed we had no creativity in the centre of midfield and although i dont think he's playing as well as he can do i don't think he should be dropped. If he goes out drinking then fair enough as long it doesn't effect his football.
  14. We don't need to wait for Hughes to come back, stick Wolfy up alongside Ricketts - he can't miss more chances than Davies has been doing - and if it doesnt work out bring Davies on from the bench
  15. Except he won't provide the crosses because he can not cross the ball consistantly well and he doesn't have his head to enable him to pick out the right pass. If Davies is stuck out on the wing then he will get to the byeline yes but when he gets there he will either put a rubbish ball into the box or more than likely he will try and cut inside and take all the defenders on and more often than not end up losing the ball. For me he is a "super sub" bring him on against tired league one centre halfs and they will be scared to death of him and end up giving silly free kicks away. If Bertrand is on the wing then who is playing left back? Bertrand is doing a decent job of left back there is no need to move him. If you want to put Davies on a wing then stick him on the left at least then he will be on his right foot when he cuts insde
  16. Isn't good technically? He controls the ball instantly, he can pick out a pass (a massive plus for centre halfs in this division) he wins headers, hes good in the tackle and he doesn't back out of 50/50 challenges and he doesnt hoof the ball unless he needs to, though i do agree he does sometimes get caught out of position. His only downside is his injury record - oh and his new haircut, he looked much sexier before he had it cut
  17. He did have a good game today, was definately one of our better players. The problem is he is one step ahead of most of the other players most of the time. I couldn't believe the booos for him, i was more stunned by KK being given man of the match
  18. I thought Eardley did ok today, nothing special though. Bertrand did well at left back too. I thought Ricketts was excellent in the first half and played some lovely balls through and how Davies didnt score when he played him in i'll never know. The central midfield needs sorting out, and why on earth did shez bring Allot on for JP, there both defensive midfielders and we were losing!! What was most evident was that we had no leader on the pitch today, even our senior players like Lids and Ricketts are quiet players and when Allot came on who was captain at Chesterfield he didnt open his mouth either
  19. Lomax is not a proper left back he is a right back who can fill at left back if needed. You want to move Bertrand because you seem to think you know better than all the coaches at Chelsea and at Latics when he has been doing a decent job at left back and put another player there who will be playing out of position. Yes Bertrand has made the odd mistake but there is not one player in our squad that hasn't. Why would i say Lomax is at Rochdale for effect - what kind of effect do you think i was going for? I simply pointed it out in case yourself or others hadn't realised he had gone back and that we can't recall him if he has only signed for a month which im pretty sure he has. i did read your other post yes after you had pointed it out to me that it was on another thread. I presume you mean the one in which you want to put a player who has been playing awful for months and months and who has got absolutely no confidence whatsoever on the right wing with a player who still have got everything to prove and hardly played any competitive football as back up, a left back or someone on loan - who? we can't afford decent wages so we wont get a decent player - on the left wing and a right back who isn't even at the club at the moment at left back, Trotman as cover at centre half who again has hardly any experience in first team football, JP in the middle fair enough but that still means we will have no midfielders making runs into the box at the moment the only player who can do that is McDonald. I know JP did it a couple of times pre-season but that was against the likes of Rochdale. I'm not saying that the likes of Trotman, Smalley etc are bad players but we already have several young players in our starting 11 we can't just keep throwing more in who have even less experience. If we had a more experienced side then by all means give them a chance but just added more kids to the ones that are already playing won't work. We need at least some experience in the team. And i'm not saying that Lids and McDonald are the best players in the world but at the moment we have limited options and they might just have the experience required to turn things round - course they might not and should Shez try Macca on Saturday and he plays awful you can come back on here on sunday and take great pleasure in telling me you told me so
  20. Lomax is back at Rochdale and if he's only signed for a month again then we can not recall him
  21. He hasn't had a run in the team recently. He's had the odd appearance here and there but not a run in the team and if Shez is right about how is he training then he deserves it. There is no alternative, KK is a playmaker and doesnt make runs into the area, JP and Allot both do well breaking up the play but offer very little going forward.
  22. I'd be very happy to see him playing on Saturday. He deserves a chance to prove he can get to playing as he was this time last season. Were also really missing his runs into the box from midfield
  23. Just because Sheridan was a good player it does not mean that he can turn 3rd division players into good players, if the players we have were as good as Sheridan then they wouldnt be playing for us. Being able to play a good passing game himself is very different from getting 11 other players playing a similar type of game. What i do find a bit worrying is when our player start to lack a bit of belief in themselves and their form drops i have yet to see any real evidence that our coaching staff are able to get them believing in themselves again. Of course whatever Sheridan said to Gregan worked, he's now back to doing what he does best but he is a very experienced player and just needed a kick up the backside. Eardleys form has improved but thats since he got his first cap for Wales - he couldnt have wished for a better confidence booster!! But the likes of Taylor, McDonald and Pogs last season they haven't been able to get them playing anything close to the players that they can be. I personally was gutted when they got rid of Moore but they appointed Sheridan i have supported him 100% and will continue to do so but i do think it was slightly too early for him to make the step up and he also brough in others with little or no experience to work alongside him. Basically he's learning on the job and he has done a good job but there are still area's where he and his staff need to improve and hopefully they will do soon. Sheridan has been given an easy ride by the fans so far but they are getting more and more impatient and they will turn on him should performances and results not improve. If this happens the club need to stay strong and stick with Shez, we can not keep swapping managers and then players every couple of years. When they got here the owners said they wanted to be an established Championship side within 5 years, thats not going to work within the time frame they set, but we can move on and become an established Championship club but they need to stick with a manager, support him and give him at least 3 season to turn things round and not keep changing things. And we the fans need to be patient and support the club even when they are not going all that well. Hopefully a win tonight and that will give the whole club a boost
  24. What chances did we miss because Wolfy was on instead of Ricketts?
