  1. Apparently they DO have undersoil heating but cant afford to connect it!!
  2. Noticed as soon as I posted the message - damn no title editing
  3. To be fair it does say "the other 15 members of the squad are....."
  4. It is always sad when a fellow collector calls it a day and sells his collection. On the plus side it means I can get a few for my own collection and hopefully fill a few gaps for others. I am in the midst of going through a Latics collection that I have acquired today which is almost complete back to 1958 and about 150 more before '58. If you have any wants please let me know. Prozac - think I have that ZDS at Everton you where after. Please confirm you still want it.
  5. City are back on the FA Youth Cup trail on Wednesday at Oldham - and coach Scott Sellars believes his current Academy group are well equipped to follow in the glorious footsteps of their predecessors. The Boy Blues were proud winners of the competition in 2008 with a final victory in two legs over Chelsea, then the following season were pipped in the semi-finals by a strong Arsenal outfit featuring Jack Wilshere. Dedryck Boyata has gone on to claim a senior squad place while team-mates such as Kieran Trippier, at Barnsley, and Vladimir Weiss, at Rangers, are picking up valuable first-team experience in loan spells elsewhere. Now City's current crop of Under-18s face their opening hurdle in a third-round tie that Sellars warns will not be easy after witnessing Oldham's triumph over Sheffield Wednesday in the previous round. He said: "They're a good team, but we've got a strong group and we're having a good season - we've only lost one game so far, and the lads had a decent run-out against Rochdale after a lot of indoor training recently." City shrugged off any ring rust after going almost three weeks without a game by beating Rochdale 6-0 with a hat-trick from Harry Bunn, whose father Frank was a goalscoring hero as an Oldham striker. Sellars added: "They enjoyed playing again, and the bonus was that the game was on the City of Manchester Stadium pitch, which is a delight to play on. They all loved the experience. It can be inspirational."
  6. Just been preparing the back of the teamsheet. Dug out my old youth cup teamsheets and came across this from the game at Maine Road. Guess who scored for City!
  7. Next Wednesday at 19.00 at Boundary Park we have the big third round of the FA Youth Cup against Manchester City. After yesterdays win over Rochdale the Latics under 18's still have a 100% 6-0 record in cup games this season. Tony Philiskirks boys are having a excellent season and have every chance against City. No weakened team and no lack of desire will be on show so get down to BP for the last home game before Christmas. Saturday 18th at 11.00 the U18's follow up the City game with a home game at Chapel Road against runaway NW Conference Youth Alliance league leaders Blackpool. Blackpool have only lost one league game this season - to Latics a 2-0 win back in October when James Tarkoswski and Ryan Burns gave us the win. retrospective teamsheets will be available as I will be at MK. For the first team later that day are at MK Dons for a league 1 game with Adult admission just £10. No home reserve games are scheduled until early February. Teamsheets for yesterdays cup game against Rochdale are still avaiable.
  8. Not that I want to be picky.............. but it was a Youth Alliance Cup round 3 game. The LYC game against Rochdale was postponed last week and is scheduled for Tuesday 21 December 11.00 KO.
  9. For me £1.50 a pack is about right. All sticker books have the loss leader of the album plus a couple of sets to get you started and then you make profit on the sticker packs. £1.50 is not onerous. It was also well advertised before the sticker books went on sale. The whole completed book (without promotions) is £69.50 - would you pay that in one hit for the completed collection?. Probably not but £1.50 a week is not bad. For me it is the lack of week to week packs made available. Having packs arrive in groups of three make it feel a bit more expensive. I havent bought any since the Southampton pack. Have any more arrived since? There has been nothing on the site. Have the Brentford stickers appeared yet as they couldnt be found last time I asked?. Was passing BP earlier this week and called in for a few things but as they had Galaxy radio blaring in the shop I just left quickly without spending anything.
  10. Tippy? soft? Maybe the early tipton but have to disagree about the hardnut he became.
  11. Next Tuesday 7 December the Oldham Athletic reserves are scheduled to play against Rochdale reserves at Ashton United in the Manchester Senior Cup. This is a fixture on the Oldham Athletic website. It is not included on the Manchester FA fixture list. Nor is included on the Rochdale reserves web page - which still shows fixtures & results for last season. The Ashton United website has our youth fixture against Rochdale at Hurst Cross for next month advertised but no mention of Tuesday. I will post later today to confirm the KO time etc. Thursday 9 December at 19.30 Trust Oldham hold a "Evening with the gaffer" at Milan Bar in Lees OL4 9DY. Tix from Richard Attwood on 0759 8696975 Saturday 11 December Oldham Athletic Youth team have a home game at Chapel Road against Rochdale Youth team in the third round of the Youth Alliance Cup. KO is scheduled for 11.00 To finish the first team are at home to Swindon Town on 11 December at 15.00
  12. Tomorrow (Monday) night the Latics reserves play Manchester United Reserves in the second round (QF) of the Lancashire Senior Cup at Bower Fold, Stalybridge. 19.00 KO. This is a Manchester United home game. Adults £4 children £2. I also believe that Celtic are doing a currry night + entrance for £15 (see their website). The winners will be at home to Blackburn or Morecambe in the Semi Final.
  13. For those planning to go to the Youth game tomorrow there will also be a inspection at Chapel Road. Latics would probably call it off now but the Lancs FA want a referee to take a look in the morning. Not sure of the time but I will be at the ground around 9am to prepare the teamsheet. Will try and post as soon as I know. Or give me a ring at the MdL website contact number.
  14. Anyone who got a teamsheey from the ticket office on Sat will have got one with a large void down the Oldham line-up. I have just recieved a original color copy so if anyone wants one running off let me know.
  15. Just heard from the programme editor at Rochdale and they have 700 programmes left from the original game so they are not issuing another or supplementing that programme with up to date info. I would have thought a 4 page supplement with up to date teams etc would have been issued - say at 50p. How many old programmes are they going to sell?.
  16. As I applied in August but didnt get a email confirmation they have agreed to send me two tickets after I telephoned them this morning. You can still get free tickets but if you have a fresh application you will need the £5 reciept from a local business. I have been sent these directions by Chip & Sue: The list given features mainly businesses in the centre of the town, or out in the suburbs. I'd recommend either the Cider Press or Three Crowns on the Barbican. With the price of beer down here, you'd soon have a fiver's worth of receipts. As for Langage, it's sprawling industrial estate just outside Ivybridge, which you'll pass on the way into Plymouth on the A38. It's well signposted from there, and about 10 miles from the centre of Plymouth, so you'd have to pass it on the way in, call at the Barbican, then drive back again, and back yet again on the A38 to Home Park. It's a straight run. If you do want to go to the Barbican, come off at signs for Marsh Mills/Plymouth Centre. There's a large Sainsbury on the left. Take the left hand road, Embankment road, which runs alongside the river Plym. Be aware of fixed and mobile speed cameras both there, and on the approach to the turn-off at Sainsbury's. Drive along Embankment Road for couple of miles, then take the left turn into the shambles called Gydinya Way (it's down to one lane, and coned off, it's only just reopened after a few months of being closed). There's a slip road on the left that takes you to either Barbican Leisure Park (there's a maximum stay there, be careful), or further along is the multi storey car park. The Barbican is signposted from there. As you cross the bridge past the National Marine Aquarium, turn right at the Mayflower Steps, pass the Glassworks, carry on past Captain Jaspers, and the Cider Press is on the left of the covered street tables and chairs. You'll see the Three Crowns on the opposite side of the harbour. If the slip road to the leisure park is closed (which it was the other day), carry on round to the roundabout, stay in the left-hand lane as it filters straight through onto Exeter Street, and take the next left at the lights. Drive along that road past Foot Anstey solicitors, then either turn left for the leisure park facing the pub at the crossroads, or right for the car park. Coming out again is even more straightforward. Follow signs for Exeter, drive back along Exeter Street, and pick up the A38 from Marsh Mills roundabout. After calling at Surf 118, get back onto the A38, and drive straight along until you see a sign for Manadon/Tavistock/Home Park. Come off at the slip road, and take the second left down Tavistock Road. Home Park is on the left of the road.
  17. Just thinking that myself. Well done OP. Perhaps a link so we can have a listen to the passage to which you refer.
