  1. Hmmm seems like a interesting game - mind you the pitch Morecambe use is more exposed then Chapel Road so any wind plays havoc. Also in the NE conference Hartlepool won 5-4 at Rotherham. Pity Latics lads couldnt join in the goal feast.
  2. Is this the strangest advert in a Latics programme? This is from the back page of a programme from 1950. "Help the poor struggler" pub in Hollinwood - Licensee (the executioner) Albert Pierrepoint

  5. The reserves start the week on Tuesday with the first of five consecutive away games at Shrewsbury Town's Greenhous Meadow. KO is 19.00. A win will keep Dux's lads in the mix for the division. My first visit to a new ground so looking forward to it. Next Saturday morning the Youth team are away at division leaders Port Vale. A yesterdays defeat at home to Wigan Athletic leaves the Youth team with too much for the division but with two important cup games approaching a bit of form would be welcome. The game will be on the training pitches at Vale Park. KO is 11.00. As its only a hour away it is another one we will be taking in. The first team round off the week at home to league leaders Brighton & Hove Albion KO 15.00. Shrewsbury Town will be 84th game of the season and passing 10,000 miles. Project passing 100 games on 21 April at Carlisle United Youth

  8. Am after a ticket from Bournemouth with a red stripe along the top. The one I got had a blue stripe. PM please if you can help.
  9. The first team are at home on Tuesday evening vs Sheffield Wednesday 19.45 On Wednesday afternoon the reserves have a home game at Stalybridge Celtic against Preston North End. North End are in second place in the reserve league. Six points better off than Latics but we have a game in hand. Latics also have three games in hand on league leader Burnley who are 9 points to the good, so a win will really put us in the mix for the division title. This is the last home game for a while as the next five games are away from home before we end the Totesport.com league season at home to Wrexham on April 19. For those not trekking to Leyton Orient next week the lads have a home game against Wigan Athletic at Chapel Road (11.00). The youth team lost yesterday at Stockport County 2-1 and need a win against Wigan to keep on the heels of the top of the league. Its free, its real football, its passionate and its Latics - give it a go. The first team round off the week at Leyton Orient 15.00. Going to Orient and getting there early? - Unfortunatley Orient youth are away in the Alliance League but 20 minutes up the A12 the West Ham United academy team are at home to Cardiff City at Hainault Road, Romford, Essex.
  10. Just had confirmed that the Youth Alliance Cup Northern Final against Darlington is a home on 2 April KO 12.00 and not 23 March as originaly mooted. There was some take of it being at BP rather than Chapel Road. Unfortunatley this is the same day as the first team are at Notts County. The Lancashire Youth Cup Semi Final at Tranmere Rovers will be two days later 4 April KO 14.00 probably at Tranmere training ground.
  11. All 10 teams in the Totesport.com League West Division were in action yesterday. Most surprising result - bottom team Bury with just 1 point from 7 games beat league leaders Burnley 4-3. Of note as well next to bottom Tranmere (5 points from 10 games) put 6 in against Accrington Stanley. 12. It was initially posted at 5pm yesterday and reposted this morning with the inclusion of the league table - see you there?
  13. I have quite a few knocking around which I could let you have ..................... for a very reasonable price
  14. The finest programme ever............... That would be the case even without Ken Bates rants!
  15. They have a good youth side and it is to Tony Philiskirks credit that we have beaten them twice in cup competitions and once in the league. On the down side they are not running a reserve side which I always see as a retrograde step. Youth team to first team is a very big step.

  17. There will always be prospects coming through with Tony Philiskirk around. I believe Carlton has a reputation in local schoolboy football because of his attitude. We can only hope he learns.
  18. Won 2-0 Difficult game with the wind and Tony brought in younger lads as he said he would. Cracking debut as a sub by Carlton McIntosh a strong black lad who played up front. Really put himself about. Also first starts for Luke Wanless and Danny Gossett.
  19. Just three games next week for the boys from Boundary Park. For the retired, out of work or just workshy the reserves have another home game on Wednesday afternoon in the Toteport.com league against Morecambe at Stalybridge 14.00 KO. If you are not going to Bournemouth next Saturday the lads would welcome your supports at Stockport County 11am KO. The game will be at the Stockport traning facility at Ridgeway Road, Timperley, Cheshire WA15 7HE. To round off the week the first team travel to Bournemouth next Saturday 15.00 KO. Tomorrow night is the Q&A with Simon Corney, Paul Dickov et al at Tara Leisure, Shaw. Personally a bit surprised we cant sell 200 tickets for this but if you fancy a tater pie supper and beer with some Latics chat that t the place tomorrow night
  20. I had a chat with someone in the programme department at MK Dons at around noon today and the programme for tomorrows game will be the one they printed for the 18 December postponed game - no inserts. The price will still be £3. And you thought Latics where bad!!!!
  21. No it is one game. The winners will play either Southend or Wycombe in the final at a venue to be decided. Last years final was between QPR and Stockport County at Loftus Road.
