  2. We will renew - in fact the money is already put on one side - all in £2 coins - already started saving for 2012/13 tickets
  3. Yes at Home - thanks for that and have edited the post. Let me know by noon tomorrow if you are coming to the Reserves.
  4. Busy week at Boundary Park with 5 games scheduled. Tomorrow (Monday) we start with a Manchester Senior Cup group game against Stockport County at Stalybridge 14.00 KO. Latics have opened their MSC campaign with two losses but do still have a chance to make the final against Manchester United (They have already won all 6 of their group games). Qualification will depend on Latics winning all 4 of their remaining games and Manchester City and Bolton dropping points. With Tuesdays game at MK Dons a young reserve side will be put out. Dont know about admission, but against Man U in September it was £4 for adults and £2 for concessions. These Cup games are not usually covered by season tickets. On Tuesday the first team have a re-arranged game at MK Dons (19.45). I believe they are using the original programme with no inserts. On Thursday the youth team have a game at Chapel Road. The opponents are Rochdale in a re-arranged game from earlier in the season. We have already beaten Dale three times this season so a fourth should be on the cards but Dale where in second place in the table up to this weekend so expect a full on match between these teams. Kick Off is 14.00 at Chapel Road. On Saturday morning the youth team are in action again at Chapel Road against Tranmere Rovers (11.00). Tranmere have won only one league game this season but had the excellent win at Burnley in the Lancs Youth Cup QF last week. Tony Philiskirk will probably put out a Under 17's team so a good opportunity for the younger lads to make a name for themselves. Finally on Saturday at 15.00 the first team have a home game with Darren Ferguson's Peterborough United.
  5. Stayed till halftime and the lads pulled a goal back just before we left to make it 2-1. I believe (from macc message board) that we ended up winning 4-2. Wigan lost to Darlington in the other SF (also 4-2) So its a Oldham v Darlington Northern Final. Could be home or away. Latics starting XI was Routledge, Unknown (could be JOe Edwards), Kidd, Parkes, MD Carr, MA Carr, Winchester, Mellor, Burns, Riley, Hughes.
  6. The Latics lost 2-0 at Walsall on Saturday morning. Goals by Daniel Griffiths and Jason Wellings for Walsall. Female referee Ms Sasa Ihringova also booked Latics Kyle Riley. The teams: Walsall - Liam Maher, Ben George, Malvind Benning, Mitch Botfield, James Tank, Dan Creswell, Jason Wellings, Jack Dobson, Aaron Williams, Dan Griffiths, Keiron Morris Subs Calum Williams, Joe Sinton, Connor Deards, Jack Cresswell, Joe Butlin Latics - Dale Connor, Joe Cooper, Joe Edwards, Alex Parkes, Matthew David Carr, Sam Fitzgerald, Ryan Burns, David Mellor, Andrew Crompton, Kyle Riley, Chris Sutherland. Subs Danny Bell, Jack Laird, Jack Poxon, Shaun Routledge This weeks results: Macclesfield Town 3 - 1 Blackpool Port Vale 0 - 2 Burnley Shrewsbury Town 3 - 4 Bury Stockport County 4 - 2 Carlisle United Tranmere Rovers 0 - 3 Morecambe Walsall 2 - 0 Oldham Athletic Wigan Athletic 2 - 4 Preston North End Wrexham 1 - 4 Rochdale Latest League Tables North West Pld W D L For Agt GD Pts 1 Port Vale 14 8 5 1 32 19 +13 29 2 Rochdale 14 8 4 2 39 24 +15 28 3 Blackpool 14 9 1 4 31 27 +04 28 4 Burnley 14 8 3 3 37 18 +19 27 5 Oldham A 14 8 1 5 29 20 +09 25 6 Walsall 13 6 3 4 36 19 +17 21 7 Wigan A 13 6 2 5 28 28 0 20 8 Shrewsbury14 4 6 4 15 18 -3 18 9 Stockport 13 5 2 6 25 39 -14 17 10Preston NE12 5 1 6 20 22 -2 16 11Bury 14 4 4 6 25 33 -8 16 12Macclfld 12 4 3 5 27 27 0 15 13Accrington13 3 4 6 20 30 -10 13 14Morecambe 14 3 3 8 28 40 -12 12 15Wrexham 12 2 4 6 16 23 -7 10 16Carlisle 12 1 5 6 18 27 -9 8 17Tranmere 12 1 3 8 16 28 -12 6 Fixtures for this weekend: Youth Alliance Cup SF North Macclesfield v Oldham 11.00 Wigan A v Darlington 12.00
  7. Only went coz it was free On Saturday am planning to watch the first half of the Youth game at Macclesfield then tear arse down the M5 to Bristol.
  8. Just returned from Gawthorpe having watched Burnley youth v Tranmere Rovers youth in the Lancashire Youth Cup QF. Tranmere won by 2-1. Latics will be away to Tranmere in the semi final on a date to be decided.
  9. MUTV highlights from Carrington of the Lancashire Senior Cup game highlights
  10. Seriously though Prozac - there was myself, tony bugby and Tarkys parents and about 35 United fans. Behind closed doors? They even did a official teamsheet FFS.
  11. The first team are League 1 action on Tuesday at Boundary Park against Carlisle United 19.45. With the £2 entry should be a good atmosphere. Carlisle have just reached Wembley in the JPT so a good following was already assured from the Cumbrians. The Youth team are in Youth Alliance Cup action next Saturday 11.00 at Moss Rose against Macclesfield Town. The Cup record of the youngsters this season is Won 7 Lost 1 (to City) This game is the Semi Final North of the competition and they have every opportunity to go all the way. On Saturday afternoon the first team play at Dave Penney's Bristol Rovers. Form says we should come home with all three points - but dont count on it. Bristol Rovers has always been a difficult trip. If you are staying overnight or are travelling to Bristol early Rovers have a youth alliance league game against Exeter City at AXA Sports Centre, Cribbs Causeway, Bristol BS10 7TT. And finally on a personal note the game at Carrington was my 70th of the season. Well on track for 100 Latics games this season.
  12. There where four United v Everton Academy games on at the same time - I just kept my head down on the way in
  13. Just returned from a windswept damp Carrington here are the starting line ups: United: Lindegaard, Vermijjl, F da Silva, Reece Brown, Gill, Norwood, Bebe, Brady, King, Morrisson, Obertan SUBS Barmby, Devlin, Giverin, Petrucci, McGinty Latics: Brill, Winchester, Black, Alabimba, Tarkowski, McDonald, Hughes, Millar, Feeney, Brooke, Alessandra Subs MA Carr, Connnor, MD Carr, Tafer, Redshaw United looked slicker throughout the game but the killer blow really was the second United goal scored in added time at the end of the first half when King beat Dean Brill on his near post. Latics did pose some problems when Feeney went off and Redshaw and Paul Black went close but in reality the result was never in doubt. Dean Brill - 6 - Made a excellent save to fingertip a King effort onto his bar in the 91st minute. Very vocal with the two youngsters in front of him. Didnt do a lot wrong. Carl Winchester - 5 - given the runaround by Obertan for the first half. Came off injured mid second. Paul Black - 6 - Looked good going forward but left the defence on his side wide open as no one was covering - led to the second goal. Medi Alabimba - 6 - Played most of the game deep in front of the back four and looked quite composed. More comfortable when he moved further forward in the second half after the departure of Feeney. James Tarkowski - 7 - difficult day for the youngster and he acquitted himself quite well. The forward runs of Black left him exposed and there was one memorable Keith Hicks like clearance when he had been left on is own. - HOOF into touch. Rod McDonald - 6 - Partnered Tarky well but dont see him as a first team player. Kirk Millar - 6 Tried Hard Warren Feeney - 5 Had one header cleared off the line. Struggled with his pace. Ryan Brooke - 6 - Best I have seen him for a while. Nice touches and good movement. Lewis Alessandra - 6 - Gave a few problems and was unlucky with a couple of half chances. Mo Tafer - 6 -replaced Feeney and stared at the center of midfield before going to right back when Winchester went off injured. Looked interested and keen to make a impression. Didnt come off for him. Matt A Carr - 5 - Came on at center of midfield - didnt do anything wrong., Mark Redshaw - 5 - made a contribution with his running but not a lot of effort to get involved when we didnt have the ball. United play at home to Blackburn n the semi final.
  14. Could it not be put out over Latics Player and supporters outside the area could put questions by text?
  15. I usually put this info on the back of the teamsheets I do for the youth games but with no home game until 26 Feb though I would post it on here. If people are interested I could post every week

  17. The Reserves have their first home game since 9 November when they host Accrington Stanley on Wedesday 9th at 14.00 at Stalybridge Celtic's Bower Fold. After last weeks rain off against Morecambe at Kendal Town a team with plenty of trialists and new signing Medi Abalimba who will surely get a start. Who will between the sticks as Josh Ollerenshaw is on loan at Salford City and with Greg Fleming leaving last week?. It could be a chance for youngster Shaun Routledge to make the step up. Next Saturday morning 12 February at 11.00 the youth team take on Walsall at the HQ of the Birmingham FA, Ray Hall Lane, Great Barr, Birmingham in the Youth Alliance League. Directions Exit at J7 (Birmingham North), taking the A34 towards Birmingham. Move into the right hand lane and turn right at the first set of major traffic lights (Scott Arms). Continue along the dual carriageway in the direction of West Bromwich for approximately 1 mile. After passing the Asbury Tavern Pub on your left, turn right across the carriageway (signposted Great Barr Hotel), and then immediately left into Ray Hall Lane. Set your SatNav for B43 6JF The Latics youngsters have already beaten Walsall at Lilleshall in the Youth Alliance Cup second round 5-2 but they have also been in form and a hard game can be expected. Next Saturday at 15.00 the first team are at Hudderfield Town. The Lancashire Senior Cup game against Manchester United which was scheduled for Tomorrow at 14.00 behind closed doors at Carrington has been re-scheduled for a week today 13 February at 11.00 but it is still at Carrington so it will still be behind closed doors. The winners will be at home to Blackburn Rovers in the Semi-Final.
  18. Latics youngsters continued their march up the Youth Alliance Northen Conference table with a 1-0 win over Accrington Stanley yesterday. Both sides probed opposition defences early on but the wet conditions made football difficult. Latics took the lead after 27 minuted when Jack Laird fired home good work on the right by Ryan Burns. In the second half the Latics should have had a hatful but excellent work by the Accrington keeper and poor finishing had the few braving the conditions thinking "we will suffer for this". Thankfully not. Thats three home games in a row, three wins, 11 goals scored and one conceded. Keep it up lads.
  19. Tescos have gone, Sainsburys have gone M&S have gone - at least 50% of the space on that estate is empty.
  20. All of these are Latics moving in with someone else - not a good scenario. Purpose built for two teams on a adjoining boundary. Otherwise it will not work.
  21. Tried it and failed. Using a 4G surface would be a main feature of a shared stadium for me. Cant see rugby on that.
