  1. He can't read the defensive line so was caught offside numerous times. He was played through in the 1st half but his 1st touch let him down AGAIN. Whilst Fuller is sat on the bench or signing kids autographs at half time!
  2. Took my 8yo niece today & she was pissing me off not watching the game. Kept going on about fecking birds flying over the RRE. Then I found myself watching them myself because I was bored :censored:less. This team has more potential than this and it's sad to watch it! Need a centre half who doesn't take any :censored: from anyone that will organise that shambles of a defence! If James Wilson could actually pass a ball I wouldn't mind but lumping it down the line is doing my head in. The fact we lost like that to Barnsley and that little Umper Lumper makes it even worse. On the positive side I thought Kelly, Yeates and Dummigan were outstanding. Yeates really tried to take it to them today and scored a good goal and should've had a penalty. Poleon.....well
  3. Jurgen Klopp has a go at Liverpool fans for walking out early last week...people say, good on him he's not afraid to speak his mind. Klopp said he felt alone! Ironic really at Liverpool! Dunn says what he's feeling and he's get abuse for it! I hate what we've become. I think he's brave for saying what we all really think. The atmosphere is dog :censored: at home, so every moan is heard by the players. We all moaned at the Burton game about the negative play but on the flip side did we get behind the lads when we went 1-0 down? Things need to change and I think starting tomorrow v Mansfield we should try our best to hold the negative comments in and get behind them and create an atmosphere.
  4. Don't post much on here but like to read everyday but I'm pissed off and miserable today! If our average ticket price per person is around £16 (season tickets and kids) and we're averaging 4000 per home game over 23 games, makes around £1.5m. If they made it £10 for everyone and gates therefore increased to 6500 they'd still roughly make the same. Add the extra revenue for things bought in the ground and club shop sales etc surely we'd have more of a budget to spend on decent players! Hang on a minute that's too fecking obvious, that's too easy, that means we wouldn't be able to keep on doing the same thing we've been doing for years. We don't like change, we don't like being different. We enjoy screwing our fans over. We don't want to bring any pride back into the club. We love the fact there's no atmosphere. We don't even mind the team being :censored: but wait till the little b#st%^ds moan about it! If I was running the club... 1.) Have a smaller squad...Brown, Murphy, Eckersley, Poleon, Yeates all stealing a living and not needed. Combine their wages and pay 1 guy worth having a decent wage. Too many players over the years have come here and clearly don't have the heart to play for us 2.) reduce ticket prices. £22 is never going to entice anyone. They'll look at the league position and results and think, I'm not paying £22 to watch that! 3.) advertise the club better...never see any signs or posters about upcoming games anywhere around Oldham. 4.) take out a massive loan and set up an academy worth having...nowhere near enough youth players come through into our first team. Create a mentality that players really want to get in the 1st team and stop these journeymen coming in using our club. If they're not good enough for other clubs in this league why should we keep taking them on? All the successful clubs are built on strong foundations and invest in their youth set ups. All 4 things are obvious and fairly easy to do. The current board won't do it because they don't care. The actual football club doesn't mean anything to them emotionally, so they are too frightened to take a risk and lose out. For me, the club is on a knife edge and these guys are in it up to their necks and won't tell the fans anything that's the truth. They're opportunists, they react when they see an opportunity to gamble with fans loyalty and hard earned money (north stand) and signing players that no one will touch (Evans) just to make a quick bit of money. All short termism and desperate!
  5. Was sat in the Bury end today behind dugouts. Only decided I was going today so didn't get a ticket. Was weird watching from the home end but I have to say latics fans were so loud at points today. Even the Bury fans were saying the loudest they've had in for a long time. Just wish 2000 people sang at home games.
  6. Corners...why do we mark space and not players? We lost every header from corners. We are just too nice. We back off when the opposition have the ball. I was having a go at Brown all game because he was just awful. He couldn't control it, didn't look to attack AT ALL and his passing was all over the place. But then I thought, why isn't DK telling him and getting at him to attack the space. Then, the Athleticos! Really appreciate what they are trying to do but it's not working. Most people are just leaving it to them to create the atmosphere. Every song sounds the same and half the time you can't tell what they're singing. That drum! I thought Jones was class today and thought he should have got MOTM.
  7. I came back this season because my mate who works as a physio for Barnsley got me a free ticket for the JPT game at home but the ticket was in the Barnsley end. I enjoyed what I saw and haven't missed a home game since and been a couple away. As I'm self employed, I have changed my whole working week so I'm free on Saturday afternoons. I've not been prior to this season for 3 years. I've always wanted to go but never felt it was worth it but now I do. Some might think you only go when we're winning but the place and team depressed me so I stopped going. You have to give people something worth going for. I have managed to get 3 of my mates to come tomorrow who stopped coming at the same time as myself.
  8. I'd not been to a game for nearly 3 seasons. I was fed up with loan players, players not giving 100% and the decent players we did have were always sold straight away. I've not been on here in that time as I was always moaning about the club etc A friend of mine works as part of Barnsley's fitness team and managed to get us 3 free tickets for the JPT game the other night. We had to sit in the Barnsley end though! Had to stand up and "pretend" to be happy when Barnsley scored near the end! As I'd not been for years I didn't hardly know any latics players at all. I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised with the way we played and the football was easy on the eye. So, for the Walsall game I'd finished work early and thought I'll give it another try. (I paid £22 this time). I'd told my dad how well I thought we'd played on the Tuesday night v Barnsley, so persuaded him to come with me. He's not been for years either. Again, we were both impressed and plan to go to the Coventry game. I wouldn't say that I've only come back because we've gone unbeaten for 10 games. I only came back because I got a free ticket! I never intended on going again if I'm honest, I'd totally lost interest. I'll probably go to a select few games this season as I still work some Saturdays but for now I'll give Lee Johnson a chance to win me over.
  9. What and the likes of a Windass, Byfield, Kabba etc etc would? I think not. Lets face it they wouldn't care now whether we stayed up or not. When is the best chance to give them a go? If we were challenging for a playoff spot we would be saying they're not experienced enough. They have to start off their carrer somewhere and other clubs seem find their own players. We just get other clubs cast offs. Its about time we start producing our own goalscorers.
  10. probably some other money grabbing has been that has no heart or ambition to do anything for this club, just give the young ones a chance for once, they cant be any worse. At least they will play without fear!
  11. Read your post on here about "GETTING REAL" - well I'm one of the stay aways who was shot down on here too, towards the end of last season I said I was never going again, paying £20 for such poor quality entertainment. It seems that many more have decided to follow. If anyone needs to GET REAL it's YOU! The TTA did save the club and we are forever grateful, but in the last 7 years where have we progressed to? We are in the same league, same position and the same poor quality on the pitch...now the ground is depressing, catering is appauling in comparison to other clubs and the atmosphere has completely vanished. The Real fans are not just the 3500 that are still continuing to attend (to which I applaud!) but there are thousands more that simply refuse to go and pay for the same old rubbish. Times have changed and football clubs can't continue to survive off the loyal fans but they have to invest on the team. Its the same with anything, if the product is good then people will buy! My last game was Stockport on the opening day of the season...last season I finished work early at 2.30 on a Saturday, missing out on pay, then paying an another £20 for my ticket then whatever I spent in the ground...this season... just not worth it anymore! Increased my Sky Sports subscription and got ESPN instead! I know the money just isn't there but I'm not returning until the what's on the pitch is worth my crisp £20 note! I've already thrown enough money down the drain. That's GETTING REAL !
  12. Was told last night that the meeting for Failsworth residents against the new ground has been cancelled tonight because the guy in charge of running it is going to the City v United match!! DISGRACE!
  13. I was one of the boo boys last season and even came on here saying I would never go back again for the rest of the season!!! Well, after plenty of thought over the summer I'm coming back but with different views this season. There's now a manger in charge that I believe will try his hardest to get the best from his players. If we do get beat, Im satisfied that if they dont play well the team will still give 100%. Football has got silly at the top these days where there is no competition. Its the same teams at the top every season. We have a league where anyone can win it & Im sure it will be us one day. Other latics fans need to realise what we have here and get back to BP to support the team and keep us going because the way the PL is going every small club will soon go out of business. I dont care if we dont get promoted this season as long as the team tries to give its' all.
  14. I heard the shots and was actually with the lad as he was lay on the car park at the surgery after he was shot. I really cant believe something like this would happen on my doorstep but its becoming a sign of the times we live in. I dont know if he was involved with gangs but what a sad sight it was too see. I just hope it doesnt start the trouble we've seen before.
  15. Well it's obvious that i've rilled a few people on here with my "first" post. I apoligise to anyone I may have offended. The faith may have been lost here but who knows? Times are hard and I cant condone spending money on that product! Maybe my second post will be more positive, could even be me coming back on eating my words!!! Sorry Guys Fickle/Lilly Liver/Moaner/Self Impotant/Deluded/Harry!
  16. Does it really matter when I posted my first post on here? The fact of the matter is I've felt strongley enough to express exactly how im feeling about the club at this time. This is not based just on this one game is it? Even if it is Joe's return it's still the same players. The same players that simply dont care? Nothings gonna change for the remainder of this season as he cant bring in a whole new set of players. This is why im choosing to stay away. I know im not on my own as the attendances have proved this season. TTA cant keep throwing money at this club and neither can I, so why cant the players realise this and buck their ideas up. Maybe the other 4500 or so stay aways have chosen not to vent their anger on here, and explain why they will not return but I chose to. This thread was my first post and more than likely my last. Ive simply had enough and Im bored watching that crap, so why go anymore. Very sad to say but totally true. Harry Dowd you really are a !
  17. Believe it or not i just like to come on here to read what other people say, my support for the club is not judged on how many posts i have done on OWTB (if your lives revolve around this site then how sad you are). Todays performance was just the last straw for me im sorry! Today was a chance for the players to prove themselves and they bottled it, how much more inspiration could you get from Joe Royle's first game back in charge. They couldnt even lift themselves for that! To the people that are having a go at me should really question, why should I spend my hard earned money (and believe me its hard earned) on players who dont care? i never said i will completely turn my back, i just said until there is commitment from the players. Until then I wont return, so whats wrong with that? Ive followed Latics all over and rarely missed a home game, thats commitment, all I ask for is some back. Im not asking for miracles here! Maybe im wrong for saying what ive said on here as quite clearly u cant put your point across but ill keep the silence by staying away. Watching us today made me feel sick, no effort, not a clue!
  18. Every club has a hardcore mate, so your not on your own! although you might be if we keep playing like that! I had a though in the car on the way home - watching Latics for the last 10 years or so, really is like wiping your arse on 20 pound notes!
