  1. Thanks-be to Warney, if every player had put his effort in this year then we'd have been promoted with ease. Not so sure about that Ackey. Admittedly his effort was top notch, but the time old discussion of having 11Paul Warnes/Tony Carss etc in your side comes up. Without quality in your side balanced with the PW's of this world, promotion wouldn't be acheived IMO.
  2. Another excellent decision by tta IMO. The football played is sure to attract (hopefully) more fans back and (hopefully) after seeing the panic for tickets etc at the end of the season, more will buy. I would have bought my seat again regardless, but let's hope we can get ice station zebra rocking again next year.
  3. Have to agree. Had debates all season regarding Warney up and down the country . Definately can't fault him for effort, but when push came to shove he wasn't good enough IMO. Would certainly rather see him here than say Butcher or Branston, but if we want to be serious promotion contenders then Paul Warne as our 40 odd game striker would not be good enough.
  4. I have to say Bob, I don't think i'd want to compete with that..he's a big bloke is Jo haha
  5. Sry don't know about the wag situation, but this gut has been mentioned. http://www.soccerbase.com/players_details....rid=40545"" target="_blank">new muzza? (Not sure if i've done the link thingy right!?
  6. When i was 14 i used to play for boundary park juniors in the same side as his lad Darre. We used to meet at mills hill on a sunday lunch, and joe would sometimes take me down in the back of his old Audi (i'm sure it was one of them!) One game i had badly twisted my ankle and Big Joe and Gordon Robins (marks dad) who was manager at the time carried me off. I think i tried getting injured every wk after that An absolute legend, not just for where he took the latics but throughout football!!
  7. Here Here....i remember seeing simon corney in the litten tree, many months ago and i still regret not offering to buy him a drink (not that he needs one buying!) but as a gesture of genuine thanks. When we beat blackers on sat, we''l be thanking them further. The time is NOW!! Roll on saturday. Can't wait!
  8. I hope someone has snapped the other 8 left quick!!. Would be prety embarassing after all the q'ing and fuss if we didn't sell out hehe On the subject of pubs before the game, we're hoping that wetherspoons is open, as mentioned earlier. brekky and a pint as pre match warm up!!
  9. "he gives a lot of effort but he never really looks dangerous which even jermaine johnson did occasionally." Is this warne we're talking about?? Controversial!!!!
  10. Very right IMO regarding similarities with our pogs...though Hallworth did have the palest legs on earth....casoer the keeper!!
  11. "to be able to fulfill leisure intelligently, is probably the last product of civilisation!!" Babbage!! :speakenglish:
  12. This is half the problem as the ticket office in blackpool want to see id or a bill with address etc....unless u borrow mi mick milligan shirt..
  13. i've got an oldish signed blackpool shirt worn by mike milligan.........perhaps if i turn up with that on they'll let me have a ticket
  14. It's blue and there's no red so i personally could ask for no more!!! It'll do for me!
  15. haha sorry about that bob, i was actually around when they sung that....though my early childhood doesn't recall that 1!! and i needed my owd fellas recollection!
  16. Another song they used to sing went something like this..."vichalomvichalomvichalom..dedededede!! obviously sung quick! (or that's how my dad used to sing it!
  17. Def no 2nd chances sat!!! got 2 start with him if fit!, when we're 4 up midway through 2nd half then rest him after a standing ovation
  18. oh dear!!!!!!!!! Yes we do love players who give their all for the blue shirt, but surely without the quality of Wellens, porter, lidds!? taylor and eards, we would be a very very average side IMO!!
  19. I was only the 71st member (i think) of when the junior latics started back in the early 80s and i represented/skippered wooee!! them a couple of times in various tournaments and games on the hallowed bp turf (as well as o/m sports centre and clayton sports hall ) and after winning a plyer of the tournament for the over 12s (i think i was 42 at the time!!) Denis Irwin presented the trophy to me. Legend and a very nice man!
  20. Not sure if i've already posted...can't remember!! On jk it's a hotpot!!!!!!
