  1. If tradition in these type of events serve me right, is the ale after the game not more important than the game itself (when we've won of course!!)
  2. They are burning, so burning aaagggghhhhh
  3. We'll definately have to come up with one though, as i'm pretty sure that some of our "esteemed" opponents this season will have a little ditty already sorted for him! (He dazes off for a moment imagining 4000 dirty leeds in the rocky rd end, just after 'marching on together' starting lee hughes is a..................).... IT'S A BUDDY NIGHTMARE RODNEY>>>A BUDDY NIGHTMARE!!!
  4. Just to let you jacko and Lionel fans know...Firstly they are def not related and secondly....i have it on v good authority( ) that these two will in fact be working with the old clayton gaffer down at Rochdale fc's version of the clayton arms..the radcliffe arms and it could very well be possible that they will be behind the bar when the mighty tics travel across the 627m in the rose bowl trophy!!! (though the bar is much bigger (ibelieve!) and you are likely to be served a lot quicker!!! :security:
  5. BigFin...don't you worry about our 'in house' northern banter... especially regarding the legs....we're also cracking poker players!!!! sponsored by.....NORTHERN BOYS LOVE GRAVY!!!!
  6. Is it a timing issue.....or is it like where i'm getting, where the head is still quick in the tackle, but legs and body not so!!! As for falling down a cellar........very Uncle Albertesque!!!
  7. No SW, that's the speed of my Greganesque tackling!!
  8. Refs only spoil the game you know...especiall when there is northern bragging rights to keep!!
  9. As the recently resigned player/manager of Clayton Athletic fc (almost home of the latics!!)..i am available as a commanding centre half if required.. ....though like 1 or 2 others i am unfortunately on holiday from the 29th!!! But will be avail for the fore mentioned game please.
  10. I'm sure Chris had told me even worse news...that he was a red!!!! Not sure though sa i haven't been in since Chris left, but we'll def have to look for alternative pre match entertainment i think!! Back 10 years ago to the queens and Brook Tavern hey!!
  11. Gone for Ricketts, but as mentioned, it'd be great if 3/4 players all lokked like scoring 15 goals and with our back 4 (3?!?) looking tougher and stronger, our goals for could read 115, against 28!!!!!! nowt like optimism!
  12. Are you suggesting Marhar, that my 'editing skills' would suit the sun?
  13. underwhelmed! why? Surely you didn't believe the rumours of Scholes', Cole and Yorke!! Only slightly better options than Chris Hall!!! Michael Palin would have give us better options up front than Chris Hall... never mind Michael Ricketts!!! But yes if fit a very different option and imo like Hughes, could be fantastic for the club next year! or not!?!?
  14. Definately looking forward to the leeds games now this year...potential hot pots YOU BET!!!
  15. After only a couple of months into a 2yr contract, southend released him for being overweight. However he then went to preston who released him a couple of months ago for the same reason. I'm sure Shez wouldn't be signing him, if he didn't think that he could get him fit!
  16. Although possibly his worst moment for Latics, was in the league cup final and after watching the game weeks later (again and again) Bunn had hit a shot well wide and high (if i remember he wasn't fully fit!) and Jimmy Greaves said something like "oh dear Frankie, that was a very poor effort, and he doesn't look himself!" In front of millions oh eck Frankie.
  17. I remember being "stood!!" at the back of the 'cold' chaddy end, standing, looking in amazement as his 5th went in. Fantastic memory in a few years that game!!
  18. Some stats for you... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malcolm_Christie
  19. I could never see this 'Wellens wasn't interested lark' I think people expected him to be on the ball all the time and box to box, but he wasn't a box to box player. In some of those last few games, when we suffered a bit of an 'indifferent' spell, Wellens was one of the few who never stopped trying to get a foot in and get the side going again IMHO. I just feel fans' expectations at times were high of Wellens. If he was so much better a player than the one that the fans saw week in week out, then he certainly wouldn't have played at this level for the majority of his career.
