  1. especially since i've just paid a lot of money to buy his shirt from last season!
  2. Fanfare for the common man will always bring back the promotion/ cup run years in my mind and thats why i'll be voting for that. Makes the hairs stand up... Come on people get voting for that! Think we should have the option of no goal song though.
  3. My bloody valentine. Going to see them on sat. Can't wait.
  4. On a less depressing topic, who was the last player who played for us in the premiership to play in the football league (or are any even still going?) Anyone after Fleming for Rotherham in 2007? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Craig_Fleming
  5. Just seen this thread. Got to be fanfare for the common man for the team coming out.
  6. Did anyone record it and have the technological wizardry to put it on youtube?
  7. Just picked up my Taylor shirt Lovely though it is for some reason i assumed it would be large but is infact medium. The skinny fit long sleeved tangerine shirt look will be in next season i predict. At least in the main stand.
  8. Doubt it but season ticket holders should be ok ;)
  9. Rochdale away 1st round of beer cup. W/C 11/8/8 I was far too slow! The glamour tie we missed out on cos they messed up the play offs. Will be a good day out. Never been to spotland. I would imagine it will be at least half full of Latics.
  10. I'll be even more upset if he leaves now!
  11. I shall enjoy wearing my taylor away shirt... While I'm eating nowt but bread and dripping for the next month!
  12. Or we could have Monty Panesar flying down the wing. That would be brilliant.
  13. Well there's 3 new season ticket holders in the main stand cos i didn't have one last year and i've convinced two others to get them who didn't previously. Also picked up my old seat from the lookers that i've sat in for most of the last 20 years. I'm going to construct some kind of frame and turn it into garden furniture!
  14. We won't find out today http://www.oldhamathletic.premiumtv.co.uk/...1319839,00.html Oh dear too late!
  15. ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
  16. I'll be there. Mark, what's the oasis outfit? Very up for it this year after missing brighton last year because of work.
  17. Out of interest, how long did royle have not ahieving much before he got success. It was before my time but i seem to recall it was some time.
  18. Didn't they have a bit of a slanginfg match when he was subbed the other week? Maybe we should compliment shezza on successfully motivating jarrett by giving him a rollicking!
  19. I sit near the front of that block. There are a fair few moaners but I've never heard anything like you describe. There is one comical old man who supplies a running commentary on the performance on the linesman in front of us. I do believe it's the best view in the ground and that's why i sit there (and easy access to the bar). In fact in the same seats for the last 20 years! As for the lack of excitement for the penalties, I think in the first case it was because everyone was completely bemused about why it was given. Nobody around me saw why. Anyone know?
  20. Probably main stand for me and my dad most of the time because you just get a much better view from the side. However for big games where i wish revel in the atmosphere I'd fancy a day in the roccy road end. So really i'd pick and choose between the main stand and the roccy depending on the game and how the atmosphere looks in the roccy. (There's no option to vote for that!)
  21. Your example is completely different from what happened. If they have grounds to believe that someone has a knife then of course they should be searched but what you seem to be suggesting from your argument is that all people who get on trains should be searched. You seem to be relying on the premise that all football fans are liable to cause trouble which i fundamentally disagree with. In fact i think that usually the policing of oldham fans is a fairly high standard. The oldham police generally know who the troblemakers are and only target them. What i object to about this incident is the arbirary way in which everyone who was wearing an oldham shirt under the age of 40 was detained. At the end of the day it depends how you want to live your life. If there was a policeman on every corner and everyone was searched evry time they left the house there would be no crime, but as a society we decide that is too draconian and we prefer to live with a risk of crime but more civil freedom. This seems to go out of the window sometimes if you are a football fan. This isn't about me thinking i'm more important than other people but being unhappy about the infringement of the freedoms of all non-troublemaking football fans to carry about their lawful business without interference from the police. In view of the data they have taken about me i don't think it should be up to the police to decide to keep it or not given that i've done nothing wrong. They should be (and i believe they are but could be wrong) required to destroy it if i request so.
  22. I consider it a breach of my civil liberties for details about me to be kept by the police when i've done nothing wrong. I disagree that you should be treated as a second class citizen just because you are a football fan.
  23. Yes i was stopped off the train in piccadilly also. Even though it was only for a few minutes it meant i missed my connecting train to stalybridge and was an hour late. I'm sure they have no right to arbitrarily stop entire groups of people just because they were wearing an oldham shirt. There is a very strongly worded letter going in tomorrow morning. Also i'm planning on insisting that they delete any details of mine that they gained as a result as i'm sure they have no right to keep them.
