  1. He is winning in the polls on here so far! If the previous unpleasantness over money between him and the club could be overcome I think he would be an excellent choice. The one thing we know he can do is motivation. Sadly being unable to motivate the players seems to have been Dickov's undoing. We all agree that we have a talented squad. I reckon that Dowie could do an good job with this team.
  2. Still got mine and my Dad's old seats somewhere from when the club sold them off. Never did get round into making some kind of picnic table incorporating them!
  3. To be fair we played some decent stuff. Made more chances than them. They bullied us off the park though and made us look lightweight. I'd rather watch us any day of the week, at least trying to play some decent football than them hoofing their opponents off the pitch every Saturday. I really think that if we carry on with an addition or two we will be fine at the end of the season.
  4. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2013/jan/05/nottingham-forest-oldham-athletic-fa-cup Gutted I couldn't go today. But we would have got battered if I had!
  5. i Cheers. I'm optimistically hoping to get on the 22:30 back (although I know this is unlikely!) as it would get me back to Stalybridge and save a lot in taxi fare from Manchester to Saddleworth!
  6. "The 'Directions, Beer & Food' thread advises: There is usually a string of 'private' buses parked up along Walton Breck Road (behind the Kop) which run to Lime Street, for between £2 and £3." Ah found it (above) - Does anyone know if this arrangement is still the case and if it will be OK for away fans?
  7. I vaguely remember it being mentioned on here that there is a fleet of private buses back to Lime St that go from the ground after the match that you can pay on to. Does anyone know where they go from? I am assuming a taxi will be difficult to find after the match. Cheers.
  8. Just listened to the interview. Am left in no doubt about his intentions. I think we are pretty lucky to have got these guys all those years ago and he deserves our support.
  9. Hi, I'm trying to buy a senior season ticket for my dad online. I can't seem to select anything other than a full adult one on the website. Is there a way to do this or do they only sell adult ones online? Thanks
  10. I'm on the club video at half time in the lookers paddock staring into space looking unhappy with us losing with blue and white face paint on!
  11. They said that sky wanted £19,000 per year to show it and so declined!
  12. I have answered my own question. That appears to be a TV in the corner! http://gasclubhuddersfield.co.uk/default.aspx
  13. Anyone remember if the gas club where I usually go has a tv? I think they do but am not 100% sure. It is great in there. Cheap beer and pie and peas!
  14. This assumes the club's owners would just 'give' us the Lancaster club land that cost them £3 million. I don't think that is likely if it is not integral to a stadium on that site.
  15. I don't think a move out of where the administrative boundaries of oldham end means we should change the name of the club. It would just reflect the history and tradition of the club. Not a team I aspire us to be like but isn't Grimsby town in Cleethorpes? I've no idea how long they've been there but am not aware of it causing a problem.
  16. True. Doesn't bother me either! Out of interest I wonder which is nearer to most of the Latics fanbase. I would think there would they are fairly sparse in Failsworth but not sure about Ashton. Closeish to Mossley and Saddleworth where there are a few. There are obviously lots towards Royton and Rochdale who would be further away with a move to either site. I'm wondering if Ashton would cause much combined extra travel problems compared to Failsworth for the fans?
  17. Looks from what he is saying that we'll be moving outside of oldham. I personally wouldn't be against Ashton. It's not too far, Oldham postcode etc. Next to the motorway for off field commercial activities. Also a less inept bunch of local administrators. It would be nice if we could stay at our present site but if the economics don't add up then it's not possible.
  18. This team have started to gel and are playing some of the best football seen for a long time at Boundary Park. Onwards and upwards! We've got ourselves a fantastic manager in Dickov and for the first time I now think we've got a real chance of promotion this season.
  19. Out of interest has there been any word on extending Dickov's contract? It was only a year long as I recall.
  20. Agree with the chaplain, get a mac and you'll have no problems!
