  1. Good old over reactions to a defeat you have got to love them. Lets sack everyone and start again.
  2. haha I know and but you will still be in the same league as us next year, despite spending more money on one player than our whole team costs NICE ONE!!
  3. Would like him back in the squad while Abbott has his operation. I would expect Blackman would start ahead of him though?
  4. 4 sets I think. I would not say I am a full on supporter of the Failsworth move I have not seen the plans, however I have nothing against it as a location.
  5. BP has never been great, even when I first started supporting Oldham. It has always been a bit shabby and the reason it seems worse now is that other clubs have moved on and built/redeveloped their stadia and we haven't as simple as that. As time goes by and more and more clubs move on we are being left behind as one of the few clubs still playing in their old relic of a stadium. I know people like to defend it as its our own stadium but if you take the blue tinted specs off surely deep down you know its crap regardless of maintenance. Getting in people to give it a lick of paint is not going to make a difference. The only way to get it anywhere near some of the standards of stadia today would be to knock it all down and start again. But surely thats the redevelopment that we can no longer afford?
  6. Went to City Bolton at last game of last season and he came on then and looked class. Would love to see him come here on loan.
  7. Gutted, he seemed like a real prospect. Im sure Rickers will be a more than adequate replacement. In Colin we trust.
  8. Fair enough, to be honest its utterly ridiculous how much influence organised religions still have, I suppose thats the crazy world we live in though and its not going to change.
  9. Thats what I said, it is the individual franchisor which has chosen to implement it, should have made it clearer.
  10. Im guessing KFC and Subway are franchises so it wont actually be KFC or Subway which have done this. The people running the individual outlets will be doing it in order to maximise revenues. The time to start worrying is if the government passes laws stating that only Halal meat can be sold in the UK, I very much doubt this will happen though!
  11. The KFC near BP deserves to be shut down halal or no halal, went in there a few weeks ago and got served what looked like 4 deep fried abortions! To be fair I probably should not have expected anything better, but it has successfully put me off KFC for life. I think for the first time in my life, I wish I had rather gone to McDonalds which was next door.
  12. In other news Manchester City have just snapped up New Zealand prospect Christopher Killen. By all accounts a powerful striker with an impeccable record for not getting injured.
  13. Reading threads like this makes me very jealous I have not been away all season Sounded like a great day out!
  14. For songs like that to take off we need a singing section, preferably not by the away fans who seem to distract most of the people who sing at Oldham these days. On a side note is Hudds all ticket or can u pay on the day? still cant decide whether I can afford this the Leeds game and a cheeky trip to Gillingham.
  15. I think Leeds away games are always all ticket as they run an away membership scheme to keep away some of their unsavoury following.
  16. Yeah cant wait for Fleming to get back he is so good we will win the league as we will concede no more goals.
  17. Not sure if my opinion is shared but: Worthy: Good until he gets a yellow, which seems to be most games! Then anonymous, now injured. Pav: Really good player, thought he was class for you back in the day very happy with this signing, can score and bring others into the game. Holdsworth: Not seen much of him due to his injury, but seemed like a solid league 1 player Parker: Some people seem to think he does not try but I think he puts in a lot of effort running around up top, has pace that would scare defenders if he could finish one on ones! So nearly a very good player but cant finish, if he could he could have nearly a goal per game.
  18. Can anyone recommend a good book to read in order to understand world economics better? Its something I find very interesting as its basically explains what goes on in the world, I wouldnt know where to start though!
  19. I see, thanks for explaining. So hypothetically what happens to countries if they go bankrupt yet those they owe money to want it back, would the only way to achieve this be through something like a military invasion to take resources?
  20. I am assuming somewhere along the chain that the debt is backed up by assets somewhere such as gold, land , cash etc?
  21. Sheffield are bidding to be a World Cup host city. I saw posters about it in the city centre last week. I would imagine the redevelopment of Hillsborough may well have a lot of government and council backing/funding, of course I could be wrong. Also comparing Sheffield Wednesday to Oldham is a bit daft. I know a couple of lads who used to work there and they said it was a Premiership set up, you can see why people would be more willing to invest in a club like that as there is more chance of seeing some return on your money. Also the club can probably run with 25 million debt because they have enough assets to cover it if necessary through player sales, land sales etc. I would also expect Wednesday would get more backing off the Sheffield City Council and the general public than Oldham. There is a lot of investment and development going on in Sheffield at the moment, something which I do not see in Oldham, and things do not seem to have stopped like a number of developments in Manchester despite the economic down turn.
  22. Boost attendances, maybe drop the cost to enter the RRE down to £10 for a couple of games?
