  1. Common sense has prevailed, totally understand the on the day charge. Well done to the club for listening, I did air my views the other day collecting my Grimsby ticket.
  2. Yes please do as, as usual they’ve ignored my tweet, so have the official twitter feed and the ticket office
  3. Previously never been an issue - my daughter wanted to go in the family stand with her mate today instead of her usual north stand seat. Ticket office abruptly inform her there’s a £5 charge!
  4. Nope, Bunn made it clear at meet the manager event that Byrne wasn’t comforming to the new code of conduct. This was BEFORE he broke Fane’s leg, sulking because he didn’t agree with training twice a day...
  5. Saw Scott Vernon in action for Cleethorpes Town v Frickley Athletic on BH Monday, he was awful...
  6. Gerald Dobbs was sent off, Fash scored an OG the game was indeed investigated in the Grobbelaar, Segers, Fash case. If you look at Segers positioning for Olney’s second abs the fact he doesn’t move back into position is a bit ‘iffy’ shall we say...
  7. Got me a battering that result, ringing clubcall every two minutes. I had some explaining to do when the quarterly bill arrived about October half term time! worth it though! ?
  8. It was a decent following in ‘91 but the seats weren’t full. Did we have part of the kippax that day too? Dad’s mate had sorted him tickets but we were sat apart in the Platt Lane, I had empty seats around me so I went and found dad at half time and we sat together to witness our fantastic second half comeback (after we’d nobbled both City fullbacks ?). The conga round the Platt Lane at 2-1 up was brilliant!
  9. I agree, not celebrated a goal as mentally as that late, late goal v Everton since probably Dissa’s at Wembley and before that you have to go back to those heady days in the late 80s/early 90s where it seemed we created life long memories Week in week out. Another late double at Everton in Feb ‘93 was a personal highlight. And by strange coincidence I’m off there tomorrow night with our kid an Everton fan. Having said that Clarke’s winner at Chesterfield was batshit sheer pandemonium and relief. From an emotional point of view sitting back in ‘our’ seats in the chaddy end a week after dad passed and Lee Erwin’s late winner against Bolton will stay with me forever...
  10. Definitely got Rick’s goal I’ll have a look in a bit... sure ive got the league cup on vhs too
  11. It was the league game - we sold him the day after. Rick Holden also had an equaliser ruled out for offside. McClair scored late on. the league cup game was remembered for an amazing over head kick clearance by Earl Barrett off his own line.
  12. With regards to whatever incarnation of FFP we are sticking too, I feel the FL are keeping a very close eye on the club, embargo after a embargo a procession of winding up orders, late wages - other clubs may be cut slack in spending beyond themselves and extending a bit of goodwill from the corridors of power. We’ve been run like a circus since the first late payment of wages in March 2011 saw the ludicrous loan of Dale Stephens. The cup of friendship to OAFC runneth dry, AL has a tough job restoring our club’s once proud reputation amongst the hierarchy, PFA and fellow professional clubs. Also with the banks, money lenders and local businesses. Corney was very good in passing on the blame and shouting down his dissenters. His divide and conquer tactics worked for years. I’m so glad people can see him for what he was. We were potless and struggling for existence under Brierley, but the team and fans were together as one. The damage done to the fan base under Corney and his chums tenure given the rise of City is likely to be irrecoverable unless we enjoy phenomenal success. Thanks Simon...
  13. I think we’re both experienced enough to make an unblinkered judgement on a player without his time out injured making him better than he is. He’s an awful footballler BUT Read the post again - he’s limited but has enough to get in this team and be more than effective. Yes he’s shit with the ball but 80% of the 20 odd players on show at forest green were too. For me Bunn needs to bring in at least another midfielder perhaps two. As our wingers are poor I’d play four midfielders press like hell and be up for a fight. If need be we can go longer IF we have pace and power amongst our stable of strikers as I’ve only seen FG and Derby, I have yet to see Miller, Surridge and of course the Wigan kid.
  14. Despite his limitations Fane is exactly what our midfield of shrinking violets is missing. Someone to put his foot in and plug the yawning chasm between the striker(s) and defence and it would free Gardner to make those runs around the edge of the box. Thanks Jack...
  15. That was much more encouraging. Iversen solid and two or three good saves again. Graham was my motm thought he was excellent. Coke much more involved when he’s played in his correct position. Agree about Nepo, I highlighted last season he doesn’t track back and doesn’t challenge. He’s too slow in getting his cross in. O’Grady much better when he’s someone up there with him. Benteke too lightweight, speaks volumes we’ve brought a fifth striker in today. Couple of decent efforts but time and again Bunn was doing his nut in with him. I’d expect at least one other midfielder in before the end of the month. Just like Saturday (albeit much higher level opposition) they waltzed through our middle time and again. Bunn was very angry and cut a frustrated figure time and again on the touch line. I thought some of the players communicated well tonight. Time and again we were in a good position but were too slow to react or made the wrong decision. You can see Bunn and Rhodes kick every ball but our press needs to be more consistent, our decision making needs to improve and our end product needs to be better. Having said that but for two superb saves from Benteke and Bangers, Baxter smashing an absolute blockbuster against the bar and a blatant dive for the first goal which was a clear og it could have been very different. Yes, Derby were better but fine margins won them the game, the second was a mis kick that landed at the guys feet. Get Clarke and Taylor in there, mix up the strikers and sort the midfield and we’ll be more than ok.
  16. Maybe they’re simply not getting the perks and access all areas they were getting? Maybe AL is a tyrant and a total twat, maybe he wants a clean slate and his way or the highway, I genuinely don’t know. What I do know is whilst Bunn was desperate to manage, Rhodes is no fool and I can’t see him putting up with half the crap people have supposedly endured? Im sure the truth is somewhere in the middle... I am concerned though if we actually have the staff to be run as a going concern - for instance who is running the club day to day and it’s a EFL requirement to have a football secretary... and if AL is picking and choosing who he pays on time then that isn’t fair, but what can we do about it?
  17. It was probably the 1-0 win over Swindon in October 2000 mate, our first win since demolishing Port Vale at home on the opening day. Craig Dudley scored the winner and was sent off late in. In those days you weren’t immediately suspended so he played the following Tuesday versus Wycombe and bagged a brace in a 2-0 win. The only Home 1-1 v Swindon I can remember before that was NYE ‘94. Gunnar Halle cancelling out Martin Ling’s opener...
  18. Yep Liverpool was 0-3 Jan ‘94 Spurs was 0-2 sadly the Andrews pen was the last in a 6-1 win in Sept 2002. Cardiff was 1-7 March 2002
