1988 think it was,,,,6 of us in the boozer on friday night at 11.30 decided we would go to the brighton away game next day.. all dived in my mates cortina at 6 in morning.. had a new exhaust put on it at crewe.. puncture at watford.. limped into brighton looking like del boy and rodney van.. watched stitch score 2 of the best goals your likely to see.. man drops dead outside ground at full time.. puncture at oxford think it was.. arrive oldham 7..am will live with me forever that day.. car scrapped monday morning.. unbeleivable scenes outside the dell as stitch scores that fantastic equaliser hundreds of latics locked out that night.. the first half performance v west ham semi final nobody in the whole wide world would have lived with us in that first half neil adams strike for the first just sensational.. thee best performance by any latics side imo 17 of us playing against a load of lads from luton on a village green night before cup final my mate broke his collar bone and the lucky git got seen to by st johns in the wembley dressing rooms i for one live in the hope that many young latics fans can go on the same journey as many of us did between 89-93 happiest days of my life and i will cherish them forever

on another bright side this is a comp we have never had any interest in.. and i dont think losing to lower oppo has affected our performances in the league before... roll on friday night

i am expecting a tough game tomorrow,,,newly promoted and a good result at saints in midweek.. can we put on a display that got us 3 points at orient,,, whats rubes gonna do this week? will he pick parker on the right again (didnt do well v swindon) will he bring back furman? even at this stage of season we dont want to be dropping to many points so 3 tomorrow will make up for last weeks events

wrote on here in pre season that hazzell is a liability proven right today my 6 year old wouldnt have done what he did today hes unable to pass the ball with confidence to a player 10 yard away. his long balls are indirect and lead to nothing once again his inability to handle a situation has cost us the points today not that we deserved the 3 anyway.. outplayed in second half by a team slightly better than stockport were as for brill.......i wouldnt be confident in goal either with the goings on in front of him

having seen it 3 times still not convinced it was a penalty,,,,looked like he won the ball to me... maybe the ref had this in mind but had doubts about the whole thing so just gave a pen.. great save though,,,nothing really wrong with the pen

thought stockport were one of worst teams ive seen at bp for years and if we had played them 2 months from now it would surely have been a different story.. first half was abysmal....we couldnt put 2 passes together 2nd half we upped the tempo and should have taken at least 1 chance think we need to get furman on the ball more and greegan reduced their striker to a little boy
