  1. you wouldnt want to sit with me i`m a boring old fart
  2. can someone please tell me what the three games are where you can bring a friend for a fiver i`ve looked all over latics site and cant find the answer, i believe two have already gone so dont want to miss out on the last one.............cheers
  3. ok D.P. didnt exactly light my fire also, but the more worrying factor is the so called stay away fans, they all have their reasons but most have aired that it`s because of the manager...only time will tell now he has gone if they come back in their droves, personally i don`t think they will unless we get a manager to attract fans i.e. well liked ex-player or proven decent manager....but my point is...stay away fans is counter productive...we cant afford decent players,i can`t even remember when we last payed £100,000 for a player and the more fans stay away the less money in the coffers for manager or players so come on guys IF YOU REALLY WANT A TEAM IN OLDHAM then get your ass to B.P. next season..otherwise remember what happened to chester when their fans boycotted the club, TTA pockets are only so deep
  4. looks like the season ticket sales have been slow....i already renewed mine glutton for punishment....anyway back to the topic...mancini might be free lol in all honesty, i`m not expecting any half decent manager who is already in a job, that would mean shelling out a cpl of quid and we cant afford it, so it will be A) Someone out of work Someones first appointment either of which is a gamble and will have fans probably shouting for his head after a season in charge..........good luck to him
  5. i`ve been a regular season ticket holder for the past 20 yrs and been going for 30+, i said the team penney has put together has taken us backwards not forwards months and months ago.........today sadly proved it, no fight,no tactics,no clue ..10 games left i cannot honestly see where we will get a result. at the beginning of the season you look at fixture list and think easy run in...you look at it now and think s*** we could go down
  6. twice both times this season,i`ll be honest this is a poor oldham side,i`ve been going religously for 30+ yrs mostly as a season ticket holder (including this season) but when you get home from work at 6:30 on a cold tues night then have to rush round getting your tea, showered etc. i thought **** it,i`ll be there today though ;)
  7. i can understand everyones feelings but sacking the manager isnt a option in my opinion, the problem lies with the board,it`s catch 22, risk putting the club in debt to pay better wages, signing on fees etc. or stick with what you can afford, you pay peanuts you get monkeys as the saying goes,i agree with someone else saying this is the worst team in decades, take out pav, taylor, gregan and this team would go down, when was the last time we had a half decent goalie ( not even a decent one ) is parker 1 of our main strikers? at best he`s a winger in my opinion, brooke ? cant fault the lad he`s trying and learning, smalley ? not prolific enough , then we start on our loanees , well loanee is enough to say , they cant hold a place in their own club and float around the leagues , sorry but this is not the way forward, paul merson said todat "i cant believe where they are in the league " sorry to say this but i can, get grant back and stick him up front with pav we need goals , i know they are similar players but no-one else is exactly banging them in
  8. he`s never had a fair crack of the whip at latics, we sent him on loan to play regular and hopefully score goals, he is doing both, if HE wants to stay at dale let him for a fee (if possible ) if he WANTS to play for latics then give him a fair chance because without abbott we are struggling to score......one of if not the leagues lowest scoring teams if im not correct
  9. we was second best to the ball most of the game, we`ve got a few injuries but you look at the bench and realise there is no-one on it that can come and win the game for you, without pawel when he goes for surgery we will really struggle i reckon
  10. is at dundee utd and a free agent in january if he`s willing to play league one would be a excellent signing for us
  11. it beats reading page after page of prem teams and a sentence if your lucky about your own team
  12. i aint bothered if they are blue, black or brown,ex-manure,ex-dirty leeds or whatever,i`ll give my full backing unless i see us going backwards but in all honesty i aint expecting promotion next season but hoping
  13. gk supple/fleming new back 4 (like to see jones stay) taylor plus 3 new new front line simple we are not a good team, stats show this at both ends bench possibly eardley, smalley, allessandra, maybe gregan plus whoever this wont happen but for me,joe or a.n.other could get rid of most of our team and i wouldnt be bothered after this season
  14. the players will clap the fans at walsall im sure of that but i agree they should have come out to show their appreciation to the fans who bothered to stay behind, personally i was on my way up sheepfoot lane they dont deserve clapping for their performances of last few months
  15. after todays game will joe want the job? i think he realised ages ago how big a job he will have on his hands to get us promoted, i reckon his decision will hinge on his budget and if he thinks it will be feasable to get us up in a small time scale (1 possibly 2 seasons)
  16. as someone pointed out our form for the 2nd half of the season as been relegation form, next year whether it`s joe or a.n.other they will want to bring in their own players,so yet again will we be starting from square 1? building a team for promotion ONLY if the right players are brought in,two areas in definate need are defence and attack, too many sloppy goals let in and not enough scored at the other end in the 2nd half of the season,i.m.o. if the right players aren`t brought in best we can hope for is mid table on our recent performances
  17. i`m a season ticket holder but didnt go,lost all interest, this season as been a very big dissappointment for me,weve been in the top 6 nearly all season and then throw it away when it matters and to make matters worse joe says "we lack a cutting edge" HELLO why get rid of hughes? who we have no chance of replacing next season, which i expect us to finish mid table like this year, pessimisstic you might say?realist i say
  18. shez did well for the club in his first 3yrs in management top half of table consistently, but with the backing of TTA he JUST fell short i think, the problem lies in finding gems who cost next to nothing every club in the land are looking for these and that is what we are looking for,we cant afford to buy big so we need these "gems" or loanees..........well,this is another problem, especially in the strikers position,we occasionally get some decent loanees like, jones and lee croft, killkenny, BUT in the strikers position i can only think of 1 out of how many and that was the guy from sheff weds a couple of seasons ago so back to is 3yrs enough......yes with the backing of the TTA but the manager has to find the right players for next to nothing....not easy for any manager
