  1. Des Walker- poor man's Earl Barrett.

Altogether now- "You'll never beat Earl Barrett, You'll never beat Earl Barrett."

Yes and correctly so...not even the Leeds player (I think) did and he hit the chaddy end face on when the fences were up...ouch...stretchered off.. that was gonna hurt

An Earl's legs...well don't get me started now......I am a lady you know...

  2. Might be pants but he got MOM in the Littlewoods Cup Final and went to Italia '90... :tongue1:

You had to ruin it for me didn't ya...lol......Yes...but pants tonight....dribbling in your own box...tut....and I don't mean incontinent either...lol

Awww....Wembley....and yes I think Neil Webb is playing tonight too.......boooooooooooooooo......lol

Gregan and Walker in defence however?????????/

  3. If only we could get a few of them down to BP we'd be laughin.

Agreed, also if it would have been interesting too if the FA asked them either before/after the game who they actually support and where in the world they were watching it from.

Analysis of our fan base and any logical reason why "bums where not on seats"....will the internet also kill off fans coming to games especailly if they have made the effort and travelled over a distance previously?

    Interesting

  4. Yea just cant see that they would cause this much trouble just to keep our attention away from a different site.

I have spent ages trawling over google earth and never really found anything to match the Failsworth site apart from BP.

    A little bit of mis-information/divesionary tactics can go a long way - WW2 D-Day I believe.

Yes I agree, nothing else other than BP/clayton field or Failsworth springs to my mind at the mo

    Many thanks

  5. Thanks guys

Don't think there was anywhere else in Oldham with a least with some sort of transport infastucture in place to cope anyway.

Except now that I have a little think, we could have used the dump they are still tying to develop called a golf course in Beal valley. Especially now the railway has stopped, slip roads could have been made to cross over into it at various points and the proposed Tram line could have been extended to Derker station.

Aww nice dream Oldham with a decent footy stadium instead of a bloomin golf course (Still unfinished with no end in sight even now). It must be a record I am sure they have been building it for nearly 20 years now.

  6. Just had a little chat with the "ball and chain" about the proposed Failsworth site and the various oppositions.

What is the likelyhood that Failsworth is a diversionary tactic and plans are well afoot at a different location?

Are we too far down the road of "Broadway" do a U-turn yet?

Your thoughts ladies and gentleman please

Apologies if we have covered this before

  7. What do you think girls?

It would be lost on me...no seriously....you have not thought about the "ampleness" of us Northern lasses...Scaffolding please......lol "suck it up and suck it in underware is a must. I don't like bulges in woong places and a must...no VPL.

However I can see one or two male fans wearing this...maybe even hand them out free to the Leeds fans when they next vistit as they seem not to be wearing much clothes last sat...

  8. Germany is where the famous "hernia surgeon" is. A regular hernia op takes about 4 weeks to recover from -- but with her, it takes about 2. There's probably a reason nothing is being clarified....

This is depressing. Every time I have a new favorite player, he goes down.

cough, cough...ermmmmm...being our neighbour across the water....I don't think Pawel would like the phrase that "he goes down...." in any context....... even in football......lol

  9. yesterday I was pretty damn incensed I'll tell you after what everyone in the ground heard and of course broadcast on the internet for the world to hear too.

Later after calming down and actually being adult enough to realise there are two sides to a story.I logged onto the leeds fans website the majority were incensed too but it seems there were a couple of things those away fans in the RRE raised:

A coach had arrived late and were still on the concourse being served food, drink and singing and were not aware of the silence but as they came onto the terraces - were told to hush up by their own fans

There were however, a handful behind the pegs who did interrupt and were told to shut up - this of course added to the volume

So With regards to the concourse - should the club have done more?

    - Notices at the turnstiles/in the ground

    - Shutters coming down 5 mins before kick off to observe the silence instead of taking the dosh

    - Stewards to "advise" fans still not in their seats off the 2 mins silence and could they get a move on.

I am not justifying their actions but maybe the club need to look at how we overral managed the 2 mins silence and prepare for it better next time

  10. Apparently they where around the back and did not know the silence had started...

Yes it seems they were in the main. However, I couple of fans on their own website admit there were one or two in the stands at it and were promptly put in there place. Hell the thread is 9 pages long....lol

  11. Did anyone die ?

    Only the footy....LOL

There were a few sirens going off as I was leaving the ground and to be honest, if some Oldham fans were anything like me - still a little bit peeved off about the non observance of the 2 mins silence.

However, it did seem only a few Leeds fans were heard - whether it was a miscommunication, or late coming in to BP who knows but it seems if you read their supporters board its 9 pages long on comments there are those on the wrong side of the pennines were not happy either

  12. Hey did my eyes deceive me or were there quite a few naked male Leeds fans in the RRE tonight???

I know there is a recession on but awww...bless...they can't even afford their teams footy shirt.

Maybe we should feel sorry for them and "bring a blanket to BP" for the league game...

Or reserve a ward at BP hospital fo Pnuemonia patients

Or....in the name of decency...if they have not got a body of Russel Crowe, Brad Pitt or Hugh Jackman - get em arrested for public indecency and get them out of BP..

Ye gods!!!...it put me off my footy it did -TUT

  13. True we haven't been outclassed but we can't take advantage because we don't offer enough of a threat, If we go one down that's it game over!

Agree...we are our own worst enemy not the opposition. The teams that have turned up, in my opinion have not totally played us of the pitch.

Its our own ability, or lack off to find the back of the net

Leeds were just as bad as us.

Can't wait for the league game in a few weeks time - have a crack at that defence especially in the middle, they are very shakey there

    C'mon Oldham.......

  14. Doom & Gloom! Cheer up, consentrate on the league now & its a nice £68,000 in our back pockets for it aswell.

On another note, The game today looking at it from the computer, it was empty in our end - anybody got the attendance? I also noticed Leeds didnt sell the small section. ( I wasnt in attendance for financial reasons, before you start slagging me off)

And finally ... Keep The :censored: Faith!

Actually, I am quitely confident. If that was the best Leeds have then hell - we could have had them. To me inthe stands it seemed all they had were some good ovelapping wingers but that defence is very shaking down the middle. It seemed we very much were even stevens and possible had more shots/attempts.

Nope wasn't a good crowd fo the home team but I still sang my little lungs out and have to drink copous amounts of beer now to sooth it

What about on the internet?? What was you view on the game?

  15. I have just logged on the Leeds fans website to see what the majority felt.....

Boy you thought we were hard on our own fans....phew!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its 6 pages long already and growing the majority are also disgusted about it and there a few heated exchanges going on - bet it make tonights boxing look like handbags at 50 paces.

Yes I agree it was extremley bad taste but it shows that each club also have a few "missing links" supporting them.

  16. If leeds are easily the best team in our division off that showing then it's a poor division imo. With an half decent forward line we could have won this match. I was very disappointed with leeds and beckford in particular.

I agree if we were poor then they were too . Lets face it we have apparently played some of the rated teams in our division and our weakness is - US...That Leeds defence today especially down the middle, will crack open wider than a lady of the nights legs on a sat night. They used and overlapped the wings welland that's it. Beckford was contained and I loved his little black gloves awww...the fastest he moved was when he was subtituted.

I am sure prozac or such with data will have the facts but on thebalance of play, I think we had more chances then they did.

can't wait for the league game - I am quitely confident...

    C'mon your blues.......

  17. I don't mind offering my services to massage "said area"

I have no qualifications whatsover but hey - I am prepared to do my bit for Queen, country and club by getting him back on his feet again.

Beardy can testify that I have mean hands when it comes to a shoulder rub on the terraces. Even through his thick attire.

I sure my hubby wont mind either being a fellow latics fan and all.

    lol....................

  18. Listen to sense Prozac.

At the moment, Latics are a heatlh hazard for you - period as per Doc's and the Mrs's orders

Those of us that are somewhat still breathing after our latter performances will testify, its not worth it.

Who else are we gonna rely on for stats and figures like if your laid up in hospital???????????????

So...JACK IT IN.....GIVE UP YER TICKET AND HAVE A QUITE SAT NIGHT IN ( NO chuffing x-factor either......)

    just do it.....
