I presume you mean me Tracy.

The independent supporters club ran in the mid 90s. It was founded and run by John Stanley who is sadly no longer with us. It primarily ran away travel and social events. John had his run-ins with the club (well Alan Hardy) but it didn't actively get involved in club politics.

Stop the Rot, and latterly SAFE (Save Athletic's Future Existence) were the groups who actively protested to get rid of JW Lees and got involved when things were falling apart under Chris Moore. When the Trust first formed, it was really a follow on from SAFE. There are still quite a few from STR and SAFE who still go to games on a regular basis but plenty more who don't.

For what it is worth I think there is an opening at the moment for an independent group but I think there is a lack of consensus amongst fans as to what the right way forward is. This makes it very difficult to form a cohesive group.

The Trust is currently in a very difficult position with a director on the club's board and another director working with the FLG. It can very easily get ripped apart and I am not clear whether Darren speaks for himself or the Trust when he engages on Social media. As a director of the club I understand his positivity towards what is going on but as a director of the Trust, that worries me.

It is right that the Trust uses its position to try and effect change from the inside and that to be challenging the ownders publicly makes that difficult. This us where a new organisation working in parallel with the Trust could be very powerful.

Cheers Mark....I had not woke up fully but knew you had a good historical knowledge of it all

  2. I have now kidnapped this thread and like I said, the Club monitor this board so you can understand why I am reluctant to post anymore.

Please consider logging your match day experience with the SLO at the Club and like I said previously, there was an Independant Supporters Association many moons ago and I think Latics4england might be able to provide more info

    Thanks

Yes - the owner, and the sycophants around him, are clearly the problem but just look at the bland posting from a Trust rep a few messages back!

Fans affected by the match day experience?! There was near mutiny and some very angry people where I was - and that was at a kiosk selling stuff. The pies were cold, the brews lukewarm, they didn't even know the prices of what they were selling! Several people went to another kiosk just to try and get a warm pie!

And you know what was particularly galling? Stewards were openly saying "It's all the FLGs fault!" Morons who've been primed by the owner. The Trust have had their heads in the sand for far too long I`m afraid.

I am sorry for you and any fellow fan that was effected by any of Saturday's match day experience

It's a not a nice thing for me to type but sometimes things have to unravel horrible for all parties to take note and do something about it and should in my opinion, get all parties around the table asap to do so. Especially as the Club monitor this board and have staff who post on here as well so if this does not move them in more ways than one, then I genuinely do not know what will.

Please report your match day experience to the SLO at the Club, it officially logged then. thanks

If you want to do best for club and the fans, then instead of trying to work with Al, focus on how we get him out.

I get it football is passion and if it was any other business we would not be arsed. Now this might be controversial but has the owner done anything legally wrong?

And you want him out but what happens next? Geniune question what is your plan?

Is it time to set up an independent supporters Trust who can basically say and do as they like without worrying about upsetting the powers that be?

This isn’t to undermine TO, btw, which clearly still has a place with its 3% shareholding. I just feel like their hands are tied and it’s impossible for them to keep Abdallah on side whilst simultenously representing the many supporters who feel sheer hatred towards the current ownership.

There used to be one and I can't remember who run it...latics4england might remember.

  6. Trust had our AGM on 22nd July. It was reported there our continuing struggles with the Club and that the rep has been unable to fulfill their duties properly.

We tweeted an update last week with regards to the progress on the accounts.

We published a statement on Friday about match day hospitality and how we thought it was resolvable.

We have now seen evidence from Saturday and read stories on social media. We have a Trust meeting next week and I am sure it will be raised.

Trust communications come from the website, twitter and trust FB page. We also email statements to members. Andy and myself try to remember to post on here as well and we do post them on the Trust pinned thread so it is not lost on the generic page.

If there are any members and fans effected from Saturday match day experience, please contact the SLO at the club in the first instance and then copy in the Trust so we can raise it as well.

    Apologies for kidnapping this thread

Whatever has happened in the stand today, and in no way do I condone the vandalism that has taken place, but that was an absolute fucking joke today.

Selling cans and crisps from a make-shift table is just pure embarrassing. Lack of PA System, lack of lighting under the stand. Pathetic.

Someone needs to crack their heads together and get it sorted.

Fan’s bar was decent in the OEC, though.

lack of PA and lighting? but did not SAG pass this the other? is this not a basic H&S requirement?

Thanks Andy - nobody could disagree with the sentiments. It's farcical that we have a "shiny new stand" not being utilised for maximum benefit.

In the background, though, and others have said it, it's looking more and more like the Trust's position is becoming untenable with the club i.e. there are obvious synergies between the Trust and the FLG (despite best attempts by the Trust to now remain impartial!).

The gloves are clearly off between the owner and the FLG, as quite a few predicted. This is a mess and needs sorting quickly. Mediation might be the way forward. Get someone involved who does not have a vested interest to broker a deal to get the Joe Royle standing fully utilised. Volunteer here if you want one.

could be and both sides have solicitors. Club has one on its own board

For those of us who haven't been concentrating, why do we need a statement to let us know the stand will be open?

But not for the 100 club or match day corporate/sponsors boxes.

They have the option of the Main stand now. Maybe a statement for those they cannot reach but maybe will pick it up off the website

Hi. Do you might just elaborating on what this relates to?

As what super blue thought. My original question was:

"I wonder who owes who the most? Landlord or club owner?

Maybe I should have clarified not the whole businesses both own and world wide debt like.

But what the super thought, specifically with regards to our club and the landlord/club owner

    Sorry if I confused anyone

Historical re charges for utilities etc that the club had been paying. I believe it would be the owners which are liable the FLG aren’t the owners.

I wonder who owes who the most?

    Landlord or club owner?

And how long back can you chase a previous company for that owes you money...or your the business you have acquired money? I will presume there is a legal precedent set?

Need to name 7 Home Grown players in your team sheet for all league games.

Home Grown means a player registered with any English or Welsh club "for a period, continuous or not of three seasons or 36 months prior to his 21 birthday (or the end of the season during which he turns 21)".

So to be picky, they don't have to be British, but yeah, basically they have to have spend 3 years in the youth system of an English or Welsh club.

I was just thinking this. Cheers fro clarifying

I remember the days when we could only have one foreign player....yikes

You are not telling me that the owners (FLG) of the Royle stand did not include the seats in their fire risk assessment? Why would you try and fob that part off on someone else? Fire doesn't choose?

Maybe I am confused but seems that its matchday and the club are the football club, should it not be the club's responsibility?

The seats on the terraces belong to the club don't they?

    Happy to be corrected

A reminder I think worth highlighting.

Paul W worked in the ticket office as a volunteer for a number of years prior to the stand being built.

I believe his Dad worked at the club and he has worked there himself on and off since being a teenager, met his wife Chris at the club when she worked there.
