  1. If Maouche is our captain. God will need to help us.... cos he ain't no leader. I've explained this. You'd be kidding yourself to deny there has been a problem with a 'them and us' feeling in the dressing room. Plenty close to it, have let it be known it existed..... to be seen whether it continues to exist. Like us all, you're entitled to have one.... I just don't think we can conclude it from 20 mins of training video footage. We'll see whether is exists when we start the season.....
  2. Hassania Agadir fans; ...quite a stadium too... for those of you travelling, I hope a good number do turn up.... it would add to the experience.
  3. "...wouldn't be a surprise - as Lee Sinnott has suggested...." vs "...they show a togetherness, team spirit .....working hard and having fun...." ....one speculates.... one asserts....
  4. How? The focus of my ire has been on Marco, his motives & the way he runs the club. That remains the same regardless of results.... but while we’re on that topic, we’ve just finished 14th in the 4th division, so he isn’t doing all that well in that regard either.
  5. You’ve deduced that from 20 min of video footage of them training? Can you tell me what tonight’s Euro-Millions numbers are too? Let’s wait until they’ve played some competitive fixtures before we judge that eh? I’m slipping it in, cos it’s been slipped in a thousand times before by various ex staff, players and journos. There has clearly been a problem with cliques in the dressing room, with some of Abdallah’s boys running to tell the teacher.
  6. Dunno if posted elsewhere, but this is a decent read; @boundaryblue80 even gets quoted. https://www.otbfootball.net/continental-football-in-the-eye-of-the-pennines/
  7. The Stade Adrar’s capacity is 45,000. Hassania Agadir’s average attendance last season was 11,744. Raja Casablanca achieved 15,038 at their home ground. Agadir is some 300 miles and 4 and 3/4 hours on the road from Casablanca. I don’t imagine many will make the trip and/or Hassania fans will turn up? It’d be like asking Carlisle fans to pop down to Brunton Park to watch Bristol City take on East Fife.
  8. Musing further..... if all of Morocco’s better footballing assets have left to earn their crust abroad, largely at bottom half of Premier League/Top of Championship standard - you’d assume the top division of the domestic structure to be bottom half of championship/Top of League One? Raja Casablanca should be like playing Luton then? I assume it’ll be good workout for our lot. SCC Mohammedia should be like playing Ashton United.
  9. Edit; Of a squad of 23 players for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, only 2 ply their trade at home for the Moroccan national team; Ahmed Reda Tagnaouti (GK) plays for Wydad Casablanca. Abdelkrim Baadi (DF) plays for Hasaania Agadir. Of the rest, 4 play in Spain (Malaga, Girona, Celta & Leganes) 3 in France (Reims, Caen, & St Etienne), 3 in Holland (2x Ajax, & AZ), 2 in Turkey (Galatasary & Fenerbahce), 1 each in Germany (Dortmund), England (Wolves), Italy (Sassuolo) & 6 in the Middle East. So in actual fact, not a single Raja Casablanca player has been away with the national team.
  10. No. I meant, togetherness, team spirit, working hard for each other vs Maouche and his mates vs the home grown boys.
  11. ....I don’t know what you’re reading.... but I’m not taking issue, I’m merely speaking aloud having researched who we’re playing. Whether it’s been worth the cost vs staying at home and taking on OM and benefitting from gate receipts (whether their 1st 11 played or not - it doesn’t look like we’re playing Raja Casablanca’s 1st 11 either) will be self evident after the 1st few games.
  12. I hadn’t actually taken the time to look, but Wed’s opponent, SCC Mohammedia is basically a 3rd division amateur club.... whereas Sunday, v Raja Casablanca is the Man Yoo of Morocco & last season’s runner up. The Stade Adrar is actually home to Hassania Agadir, who finished 3rd last season. I find it interesting that the African Cup of Nations is happening right now, Morocco got knocked out 3 days ago - to Benin - with the Final being after our friendly v Raja Casablanca, so one assumes we’re not going to be playing anything like their 1st team? We turned down a home friendly against Olympic Marseille too, for this.
  13. No.... but I bet Brentford have.... so we’ll be missing out again. Corneynomics.
  14. In my quest to find footage of games to use for Marketing purposes, I stumbled across this - which I'd never seen before - itv season review of 1982/83, which had a couple of Latics games in it. Anyway, whilst not really relevant to our opponents this coming season, thought I'd share it anyway. If you wind on to 07:25 to 09:05, you'll find a fixture against Wolves in November '82. Correct Prediction on this day would've been, including a Rodger Wylde hat trick; 13th November 1982; Latics 4 Wolves 1 [HT 1-0] First Latics Scorer: John Ryan Attendance: 7,962 We love a 4-1 home win against Wolves don't we. We did it in 1982, 1990 & 1994. If you wind on to 25:50 to 27.03, you find a fixture against Leicester in May '83, where I think Leicester got promoted. Correct Prediction on this day would've been; 7th May 1983; Latics 1 Leicester 2 [HT 0-1] First Latics Scorer: Roger Palmer Attendance: 9,088
  15. Day 3 [morning] video has just been pushed out by the fishul..... ....Maouche seemed to be in hot debate with Banide.... as well as giving big Urko a bit of a dressing down for something. It wouldn't be a surprise - as @Lee Sinnott has suggested - that he's being lined up to be captain. God help us.
  16. Banished to the reserves by 'ol Marco.... and then had his contract cancelled..... https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswich-town-linked-with-dundalk-defender-1-6147460
  17. ....if it's as innocent as this, then he's not very bright is he?
  18. So, our first home game of the forthcoming season sees us take on Crewe (H), on 10th Aug. We've played them 78 times boasting 41 wins and 18 losses. At home our record is even more impressive; 23 wins, 11 draws and only 7 defeats. It took Crewe 12 attempts to register a win at BP, 0-2 on a Tues in April [I bet it was still freezing] in 1950/51. In recent times however, Crewe have had the better of this fixture, their last 5 visits [dating back to 2012/13] to BP have seen them win twice, draw twice, with us only winning the once. The last time we beat them at home in the 4th division, was the season we got promoted 1970/71, I'm unable to complete the correct prediction that day, although I expect some folk might be able to help? 31st October 1970; Latics 5 Crewe 3 [HT ?-?] First Latics Scorer: ? Attendance: 8,135 Instead, here is a complete correct prediction of an eventful game in 2003, that saw Fitz Hall sent off and Rob Hulse & Dean Ashton on the scoresheet for Crewe; 25th January 2003; Latics 1 Crewe 3 [HT 0-0] First Latics Scorer: Chris Armstrong Attendance: 7,597 What do you Predict will be the outcome against Crewe on 10th August? Visit the OWTB Prediction League Forum where you will find a description of the rules; http://www.owtb.co.uk/forum/78-owtb-prediction-league/ All you have to do is pay the £5 entrance fee via PayPal to stevie_j@owtb.co.uk (Please note the underscore) with your OWTB username in the comments box and your name will appear in the following Participants thread; ....afterwhich, a thread will appear for you to place your Prediction, no later than 10 minutes before KO on Saturday 3th August. Please keep revisiting this thread over the coming weeks, where I will explain more about; How it works/What's new, Who benefits, Why you should consider joining in.
  19. He is..... so why would he give up, seemingly his only regular income, to own us......?
  20. No. ....but there is a 3rd brother called Omar. http://sport2jlt.com/team
