  1. Hi CovisGod, I was the one who was contacting you for the email, and I definitely passed your details onto the club. I'll send another email to try and get it sorted for you.
  2. Latest Post-Match Verdict is up, treat yourself to some teatime reading: https://joeoafc.wordpress.com/2017/02/15/oldham-1-0-charlton-post-match-verdict/
  3. This week's Post-Match Verdict from yesterday's 3-2 win is up - have a look: https://joeoafc.wordpress.com/2017/02/11/oldham-3-2-coventry-city-post-match-verdict/ The Trust Oldham Player Ratings will be up later today or tomorrow I'd imagine!
  4. I saw the club tweeted it's Gerrard's birthday today. Needless red card at the weekend to enjoy his birthday instead of a trip to Milton Keynes?
  5. I'm struggling to think of another club so bothered by every media article written about them. Keegan/Chambers are surely just doing their jobs, why do the club feel like they have to rise to everything? I'd have thought the fact that the article was in the Daily Mail reduces its credibility anyway. The only party that has come across badly in this is the club.
  6. Latest Post Match Verdict is now up. I've also looked at whether the free ticket offer will pay off in the long term. https://joeoafc.wordpress.com/2017/01/25/oldham-2-0-peterborough-post-match-verdict/ I've also started a matchday blog with player ratings. That'll be on the Trust Oldham website, and I'd imagine Jorvik will be putting that up soon. As ever feedback is welcome, especially with the new blog - I don't want to be repeating myself! (There's no Post-Match Verdict or Trust Oldham blog for the Bradford game as I'm away, but it'll be back for the Coventry game.)
  7. Mine's fairly self explanatory... I'm a Wigan and Ossett Albion fan...
  8. Here is my Post-Match Verdict from yesterday's win. It makes a change from writing about the same defeat every week. I've also had a look at Sheridan's return and whether it's worth holding a grudge over his exit in the summer. https://joeoafc.wordpress.com/2017/01/15/oldham-1-0-gillingham-post-match-verdict/ As ever, feedback welcome!
  9. Surely our best 0-0 draw was the Leicester away game where Windass went in goal?
  10. After no home game for a while, here's the latest Post Match Verdict from yesterday's defeat to Southend, with some thoughts on where we go from here. https://joeoafc.wordpress.com/2016/12/18/%ef%bb%bfoldham-0-2-southend-united-post-match-verdict/
  11. Latest Post Match Verdict here: https://joeoafc.wordpress.com/2016/11/13/oldham-0-0-afc-wimbledon-post-match-verdict/ It's becoming a recurring theme when opposition fans can easily see where our problems lie every week yet we show no signs of improvement...
  12. Latest Post Match Verdict here: https://joeoafc.wordpress.com/2016/10/30/rochdale-1-0-oldham-post-match-verdict/ I've tried to give credit to Rochdale, but our inability to improve on :censored:e performances week after week made it quite hard not to point the blame at Robinson and the players.
  13. I don't get the love for Erwin. He's a big striker, so why does he always feel the need to piss about on the wing to get the ball. Stick in the middle and let Ladapo and the wingers do the chasing, because when there's a rare opportunity to cross Erwin's nowhere near the box. He's obviously got talent, but he thinks he's a 5"10 playmaker, and it's not working. Ladapo was :censored:e yesterday, but he was left in the middle with long balls hoofed up to him. He was never going to win any of them, and as soon as they play a ball to his feet, he ran at the defence and tested the keeper. If it's Robinson's tactics, or Erwin's lack of discipline to stay upfront, then either way the manager needs to sort it out.
  14. With Law, Wilson and Dummigan we've got a good selection of RB's, but if we're playing without wingers Dummigan offers more width than the other two. Maybe the answer could be to push Dummigan forward with Wilson/Law behind?
  15. As well as a post-match report after the game, I've had a go at previewing tomorrow's game at Spotland with a fan I know who goes to both Oldham and Rochdale games. Have a look here: https://joeoafc.wordpress.com/2016/10/28/rochdale-vs-oldham-match-preview/.
  16. Are your attendances likely to improve though? It's the best period in their history, they're playing Bury, Bolton and Latics in League One, yet they still only get 3000 fans every week. It's not a criticism - we can hardly talk - but surely if you were going to get more through the gate it would have started to increase by now? It shows how impressive Dale's ability to consistently build a competitive squad is, and it's what we should be trying to replicate before trying to move forward.
  17. Taylor was able to get past Ripley because Clarke allowed him to win the high ball in the first place. Thought he was poor for his standards, but he's done enough this season to be let off for an off-day.
  18. Agree, it's annoying to see a well run club down the road when we keep doing everything on the cheap. Still, a win on Saturday and we'll forget the problems for a bit.
  19. The latest Post-Match Verdict can be found here. Let me know what you think. https://joeoafc.wordpress.com/2016/10/23/oldham-0-2-bristol-rovers-post-match-verdict/
  20. Don't think any of the penalty shouts were worth giving penalties, but the ref was completely conned when Matty Taylor got Flynn booked infront of the North Stand. The play-acting was bad enough, but for the ref and linesman to fall for it was pathetic. And surely if Flynn's caught Taylor in the face, it's a red card?
  21. I've uploaded the latest Post Match Verdict from last nights win. As ever, feedback welcome. https://joeoafc.wordpress.com/2016/10/19/oldham-2-0-scunthorpe-post-match-verdict/
  22. Reuben Hazell - just for his volley at Elland Road. One of the best goals I've seen us score, mainly because it came out of the blue in so many ways. Along the same lines of Danny Whitaker, I'd add James Dayton and Cristian Montano to the spectacular goals contenders (Dayton vs Swindon/Carlisle and Montano vs Stevange/Rotherham). Robbie Simpson and Gary MacDonald also spring to mind for obvious reasons, but both came up with a few screamers in the league as well as the cup. Mark Allott is worth a shout too, especially for his volley at Huddersfield.
  23. For the last two weeks, I've been writing a post-match verdict of our home games with the help of an opposition fan. I've had a good response so far, so I'm planning to continue the feature for each home game, and I'll post them here each week too. My report of the Swindon defeat can be found here: https://joeoafc.wordpress.com/2016/09/24/oldham-0-2-swindon-the-post-match-verdict/ Yesterday's MK Dons report can be found here: https://joeoafc.wordpress.com/2016/10/02/oldham-0-2-mk-dons-the-post-match-verdict/ Hopefully I can start writing about something other than a lacklustre 0-2 defeat soon, otherwise the reports will become quite similar and depressing! Feedback welcomed, especially any ways I can improve!
  24. So what if it's entrapment? Why should they be defended because they didn't know they were being filmed? They were willing to do these deals, so they should accept getting caught (unlike Allardyce's 'entrapment has won' comments which suggests he's only sorry that he's been caught), I didn't see anyone trying to defend Cristian Montano when he was caught in exactly the same circumstances.
