  1. Seems like they have no option but to play the game on the Monday, so it's easy to then say you disagree with it. As much as they might oppose the tv culture, they're not going to turn away £70,000 and national exposure. Respect to them for covering the £1 increase in ticket price from their usual price, though.
  2. I'm sure Corney said on one of the Radio Manchester phone-ins that Johnson went to the board in January and told them to sign him. But the first rumours after Rochdale away might have been initiated by the board. Mind you, I mentioned that the other day and got shot down for it.
  3. Exactly. Won us the point. Kelly and Dummigan were very good though.
  4. Great moment. Just like Connor Brown mugging him off last season. He just doesn't like playing us, especially seeing as he'll rip plenty of other teams apart.
  5. All-ticket for away fans and pay on the day for home fans was the reason why Latics fans got into the home end last year. Ah well, should be tasty.
  6. Corney said himself on Radio Manchester that LJ asked the board to sign Evans.
  7. I think he'd still be here if he hadn't told the board to sign Evans. Or he'd have stayed until the end of the season. The fall out after that saw him jump at the first opportunity, and us win about 5 games since. Like others have said, I liked him when he was here. But trying to sign Evans and leaving when he couldn't says a lot about him.
  8. Why would he want to invest in Roughyeds if he wants out of Latics? And where's he finding the money from if our budget is always going down and he's just spent a fortune on a new stand?
  9. The chairman has put himself in charge? Surely that won't go well. Hope Corney doesn't get any ideas.
  10. Didn't go, so can't say much about the ref today, but we always seem to get bad refs against Sheffield United. The away game last season rings a bell for a particularly bad one. I listened to the game on Radio Sheffield, and they (unsurprisingly) didn't agree with the home fans criticisms against the ref. The co-commentator decided that the Main Stand were moaning just because we have 'an old fan base'.
  11. ..........Coleman Dieng..Burn..Wilson..Mills ........Kelly...Jones ..........Winchester Poleon..Higdon..Forte Leaves you with a bench of: Dunn, Fuller, Fulton, Brown, Croft, Yeates, and all of the endless loanees we've got.
  12. My brother had the same earlier this year in a random outpost somewhere in China - he got talking to a businessman who was asking if they'd built the new stand yet.
  13. Thought he came across quite well, I'm definitely feeling slightly more positive after listening to him talk. It seems like one of the first things he's done is to get Forte and Mills' injuries sorted, so they're fit when they come back. Wonder why Johnson and Kelly decided to keep risking them?
  14. Glad that's sorted, time to stop pissing about with managers and get on with it. Looked at the fixtures yesterday and we've only won one in the last 20 league and cup games. Dunn turned 3 defeats in a row into draws, he really needs to turn them into wins now.
  15. Glad that Latics' mistake hasn't affected his ability to get a job. Watch us draw Halifax in the cup in November now...
  16. I'd prefer Dunn's honesty (about making us more solid in his first few games) than Kelly's constant praising of fans, but inconsistent performances.
  17. His knee's been knackered since he arrived. If this has fixed it, we'll be laughing when he gets back. If it's not fixed, it's surely time to get rid at the end of the season.
  18. But he couldn't finish for :censored:, so we got a draw. How they gave him MOTM, I'll never know. People are moaning for the sake of it. We got a point from not playing particularly well, and Dunn's got a week to build on it. It wasn't a classic, but it was nowhere near as bad as some people are making out.
  19. We did alright I thought. Got lucky with the fact that Doncaster couldn't finish - especially N'Guessan - but probably deserved the draw. Brown was much better than last week, and it's no surprise that we got a result with Jones and Croft playing.
  20. Exactly. We had a chance when Johnson left to build on what he'd started, but instead we gave it to Holden until the end of the season, and then sacked the fella we took 3 months to hire. Now we've got another short-term manager, and lost any optimism from the beginning of the season.
  21. Disagree with people saying Dunn has been crap as a player so far. He's been our best player for me. Hopefully he'll be more attacking than Kelly. Get the feeling the players will respect him too.
