  1. Well at least the players won't get knocked over easily!!!
  2. If you play for Latic's I'm afraid it's the boring missionary position.... Mind you it's better then nothing.....
  3. I could see Jack Truelove as a winger, he's bloody fast...
  4. Lee's been unlucky in his first year of management, all our players with flair and speed have for one reason or another gone down the river.. Monty ( where's the bookies ), Sid ( who I thought would make it ), Rooney ( forget the flair and speed thing in his case, I didn't see any), Tarky (FEC). Potential players who have never really developed: Winchester, Mellor ( and a few others ). On recent performances we have a goalkeeper who's not quite sure what is hands are for, who doesn't control his area and is about as happy to see a cross as Jesus!! Why does he keep sending high balls in when we have only small players up top, I can understand it when we have Jonno up top but not with Philly and McDonnald. Players that I'm happy about, Grounds ( but not as full back ), Philly ( but not out wide ), Clarke-Harris ( The Beast ),McDonnald and Brown Players I'm not sure about Dayton ( I'm getting bored now ), I think Lee panicked a bit and brought in players he knew who he thought could do a job ( and I'm not sure they are yet ) So as far as I'm concerned this is a steep learning curve for Lee, he will learn a lot and end up a better manager for it, KEEP THE FAITH, we won't go down.....
  5. Well, lets put it this way, anyone who use the names Rochdale and Raymond together can't have a lot going for them, I would suggest that there is quite a large void between his ears.
  6. Danny's a better all round player, brings players it the game, gives 95 to 100% ever game. Baxter great at freekicks crap on pens, went walkabout in some games, 60% to 100% effort, sometimes you wouldn't know he was on the park.
  7. I can accept the bare arse on the town hall steps but eating a hat at the same time! That's far too kinky, even for a latics fan........
  8. I wouldn't mind starting with Tarky and Belezika if big Jon goes, I can't for the life of me see how people whinge at Tarky, he's a great young player who will develop, very mature for his age, talks well on the pitch, possible captain if he stays long enough with us.
  9. He was a teacher at Alexander Park Junior school, the old school used to have a wall on which his football training methods were drawn on, the new school as a brass plaque inside. Below as been copied and pasted from the FA web site. Walter Winterbottom was the first, youngest and longest-serving England manager, who built a reputation as one of the world’s top coaches and whose work helped pave the way for his successor, Alf Ramsey, to win the World Cup in 1966. A central defender with Manchester United in the 1930s, he was forced to retire from playing with a spinal injury, but had already laid the groundwork for another career in the game which, after war-time service as a Wing Commander in the RAF, brought him to the attention of The FA. Winterbottom, aged 33, was appointed national director of coaching in 1946, became England manager the following year and combined both roles until 1962. At a time when The FA International Committee had the final say on team selection, he led England to World Cup Finals in Brazil (1950), Switzerland (1954), Sweden (1958) and Chile (1962). His record was 78 wins, 33 draws, 28 defeats. The first match produced a 7-2 win over Northern Ireland; the last a 4-0 victory over Wales. Alongside that favourable record, he established a national coaching scheme to nurture young talent, and set up England youth and under-23 teams. Winterbottom, who later became secretary of the Central Council for Physical Recreation and director-general of the Sports Council, was awarded the OBE, CBE and, in 1978 a knighthood for services to British sport. He died, aged 88, in 2002.
  10. I've never seen our pitch play so badly ( all this season ), he got a bad bounce just has he was going to lay the pass off the ball came of his shin and due to his lack of pace the ball ends up looking poor. The bounce down the flank in front of the main stand is really poor this season it's impossible to read it.
  11. How about the chorus from the Saw Doctors To win just Once. u-Tube or better To win just once To win just once To win just once Against the odds To win just once To win just once To win just once That would be enough Full lyrics ( I think ) To win just once would be enough For those who’ve lost in life and love For those who’ve lost their guile and nerve Their innocence, their drive and verve For those who feel they’ve been mistreated Discriminated, robbed or cheated To claim one victory inspired To win just once is their desire To win just once against the odds And once be smiled on by the Gods To race with speed along the track Break the tape and not look back To never have considered losing As if to win is by your choosing Bare you soul for all to find An honest heart and an open mind To Win just once That would be enough So come all ye fulltime smalltown heroes Cast away your inbred fears of Standing out from all the rest The cynics and the pessimists The self-indulgent almost rich The blatant hurlers on the ditch Time is passing so come on And face the ball, the game is on Peter
