  1. Good strikers create something out of nothing, he's scored three already and will probably be the 20+ striker the fans have been waiting for. He can't do it all on his own but I'd rather have Norwood in the team than Grigg.
  2. I'm sure the Chesterfield fans will also be criticising their players for allowing Latics back in the game and probably wishing they had Norwood on their books.
  3. What if every single player rebelled in unison against his playing style? I feel his credibility is practically zero with the fans right now.
  4. I'd give him the captain's armband and carte blanche to bollock the players.
  5. I agree but is that going to happen? Do all the players disagree with his methods or just some of them or would they feel it would be a pointless exercise and just play shit?
  6. Of course the team reflects his attitude because they follow his instructions. No team, even when the players may disagree with the game plan, is going to go out and play the game the way they think it should be played, otherwise there would be no point in having a manager. I also think there's no point in having Unsworth as he clearly isn't a manager.
  7. Agree on the player intentions, they are doing as per instructed because no player wants to be dropped for not following the manager's direction. Disagree on the Norwood goal. He deserved it for playing to the final minute, for being in the right place and for putting the ball in the net.
  8. You'd have to back way beyond that, Monty. Doesn't take much to spoil it for everyone.
  9. Glad it was Norwood who got the goal, it prevents him from putting in a transfer request. As bad as we feel about the abysmal performance, just imagine how those Chesterfield fans feel, having victory snatched from them. Unsworth reprieved, however, he can go tonight for me regardless of his amiability in interviews, he just cannot manage this squad.
  10. He's a physical striker, I would imagine bookings are quite common for him.
  11. So basically, their manager did his homework and set up appropriately.
  12. He's not going anywhere, it's three games. The players have to take some of the flak as well.
  13. He's signed a contract, if he's not happy then he needs to speak with Unsworth and tell him what he needs to be effective and score goals. We saw what he needs on Saturday, Unsworth has to make sure he gets the supply.
  14. If player performances are so inconsistent, where does the blame lie, in the manager or the players..or both? We saw what they can do on Saturday, achieving that consistently may be beyond Unsworth.
  15. Looks like Halifax are the new hoodoo team for Latics. If anything, Saturday showed what they are capable of, the consistency needs to be achieved and Unsworth has to learn how manage that. I'm not particularly worried but don't think promotion will be on the cards this season.
  16. Is it going to be Ebbrell doing the post match interview again?
  17. Prophets of doom. They should be binned. I take it Norwood is not getting any service?
  18. I know Roy is a club fixture and all that but he's been fucking terrible for decades. Sorry if I offend anyone, but it's my opinion and choosing to listen to the opposition commentary just backs up that opinion.
  19. Why, what's changed since Saturday, apart from the opposition?
  20. Stats have the Aldershot goal as an own goal by Kitching. Is that correct?
  21. From the clips I saw, he looks like he has presence and power as well as awareness off the ball. Enough to easily put the frighteners on defences in this league and if he gets the service there is no doubt he will score many goals. Probably be him and Grigg as top scorers in the league come the end of the season.
