  1. What does that mean then, a lack of skill or a lack of confidence?
  2. Well and truly pissed off by the loss of two points today, which would have placed Latics in a much better position in the table, ahead of the next game against Dorking. It sounds as though the refereeing in this league is absolutely abysmal, although can we really excuse all the indiscipline the team is racking up? A win next week is now an absolute must in my eyes, anything less will see the dissipation of any hope of promotion, not necessarily because the playoffs are out of reach but more the lack of belief that the team is going to achieve anything above mediocre, despite having a lethal striker up front. Gross mismanagement by Unsworth has undone the season before it's really begun.
  3. Well, regardless of flying rumours and apathy to Unsworth's 'Rhinoball', good luck to the lads and hopefully a much needed win.
  4. I had a thought last night that the final nail could be when Norwood puts in a transfer request. Andy, yes, even if Latics lose 5-0, Unsworth goes nowhere.
  5. It's a must win, maybe draw, must not lose game. It matters not because whatever the result, Unsy will still be in charge for the Dorking game.
  6. Stick him on the wing while he waits to take over as manager.
  7. At least you have expectations. I don't have any.
  8. My main reason for wanting a change lies in the pre-season [training] hype Unsworth spouted and the apparent backing with players of a calibre I imagined to be unavailable to the club. I was and still am pleased with the business the club has done. It was sod's law regarding injuries but a situation we are well used to as fans. However, the expectancy and optimism of an improved style of play and a push to be in the playoffs or promoted, has been squashed beyond repair within six games. It's not going to happen, in my opinion. I can only view the games through the eyes of others who were either attending or commenting on the forum as the games happen. We don't get to see how the club operates on non-match days, how the players train, the camaraderie or the relationship between the owners and the manager. On that basis, I have no option but to trust what they are doing and hope they act if they see reason to. Meanwhile, I have to carry on having the rug of optimism being pulled out from under me by a manager who I perceive to be stubborn, out of his depth and extremely lucky to still be in his job. I don't know if a new manager will do any better, I don't like the manager merry-go-round, so each game we lose, I will have a rant and a rave and then get on with my life until the next one. As I said previously, too many false dawns are now wearing me down when it comes to Latics. Apologies for the ramble.
  9. One would think if his loan is being monitored, the club would ask why his playing time is so limited. Is he not good enough or fit enough to start games? I wouldn't think it's either but...
  10. I can just imagine Norwood being lured in with the promise of a club on the up and him spearheading the charge, only to have the wind knocked out of his sails by the great Unsworth's [lack of] style of play. Fucking sick to death of false dawns every two minutes over my long years with Latics and I have had enough of them. For all the backing and bullshit hype over the close season, it's an absolute embarrassment looking at the table, with 5pts from 18 and one win in six. Poor performing managers get sacked. No reasons why Unsworth should stay, in my opinion. I'm not looking forward to yet another defeat at Gateshead.
  11. He'd probably be crap under Unsworth anyway, so, save your breath BP.
  12. 0-2 What a fucking disaster. Bottom four soon. Promotion seems like a fairytale.
  13. Good advice, something I realised after I had thought about it.
  14. Same line-up, same set-up, same outcome. A draw. Same post match interview.
  15. Despite the video being shot in stop-motion, it makes a mockery of Unsworth's appraisal of the Boreham chances. Commentator quite good, though.
  16. I think Johnson left well before his time, being lured away definitely did him, and us, no good. He had the makings of a long-term manager, although the Lemmies may have driven him away.
  17. The "alarm bells" are already ringing, surely, and they appear to be falling on deaf ears. You are right though, Norwood is being completely wasted in Unsworth's team.
  18. Might not be too long before Southend are above Latics again. Hartlepool are currently looking a good bet to give Chesterfield a run for their money. Certainly isn't going to be Latics.
  19. We need to send an AI powered terminator back in time to assassinate Tim Berners-Lee. Then again, I wouldn't be writing this...
  20. So, he asked players to play in unfamiliar roles, in a defensive set-up, hoping their natural instincts would catch Chesterfield on the break and snatch a win? If not, stay in shape. The return of Ward, Lundstrum and Green can't come soon enough, even then, there ain't no guarantees.
  21. I believe most of us would have taken a point beforehand, I thought it would be a battering from Chesterfield. I'm sure the Chesterfield fans will be as gutted as we are delighted, our slice of fortune being their misfortune. The set-up and style will not change at Boreham, he says as much in the interview only, he needs to be good on his word and play "expansive at home".
