  1. You're not talking shite, it's your opinion and I'm sure many others will agree with you. Goalkeepers can be prone to being caught out by the flight of the ball with a shot from distance but Norman seems to fall foul of it on a very regular basis.
  2. So much for the Unsworth ethos or are they being over-trained or even incorrectly? Given the noise coming out of the club regarding player pastoral care, it certainly shouldn't be the case. Unsworth should, but probably will not, be interviewed by the OT to explain what went wrong, however, I think we will have to suffice with the lame interview from Ebbrell.
  3. Probably not, BP and I have no idea how long he has been playing in the RB position, possibly long enough to be competent and better than our current options, although that is not a hard task, given the inept display yesterday.
  4. It isn't over but once a gap opens up between mid to lower table and consistently performing teams at the top, that gap is very difficult to close without a considerable winning streak. Are the management team and the players capable of doing that? The optimism of the new signings has been evaporated by injuries, shite tactics and underperforming or incapable players.
  5. Started out as a striker at Leeds, moved to centre back, then centre mid at City and finally "settled" at right back, according to Wiki. Take from that what you will, if signed, Unsy will probably put him between the sticks.
  6. Didn't they beat Latics 3-0 last pre-season, or the one before?
  7. Not there obviously but Twatter is giving signs of vulnerability down the right-hand side and Fondop being hauled off whilst Nuttall remains in the game. Oh, and apparently, the team can't function without Lundstram.
  8. Hopefully the scan comes back with the news we all want, which is at least better than the broken leg as reported on the ever-reliable Twatter.
  9. It's that negative mindset mentioned on the podcast. It really needs to go.
  10. Why are we assuming Lundstrum has been crocked?
  11. We don't know, do we? It could be a minor knock and a precautionary sub. Well done, Nuttall.
  12. 1-0 to Barrow with a good strike from outside the box.
  13. I thought the interview was open, friendly and very relaxed, with Unsworth coming across as likeable and with a clear picture of what he wants the team to achieve and how he wants them to play. Interesting in that he wants three more players in before the start of the season although I'm not convinced this will happen, without being really sure of why. As others have already said, it is in stark contrast to last season and therefore the expectations of the fans will be higher. I certainly don't expect a smooth or easy ride, I don't expect Latics will be competing at the top all season but live in hope that a steady progress will see them somewhere near, come the end of the season. Of course, like all of us, I desperately want promotion. I do believe Unsworth is going to be a long-term manager regardless of how this season pans out. From the info in the podcast, I personally feel a lot happier regarding the health and security of the club and its team of players and staff alike. I really wish I could be at BP a lot more than I am able to because I feel like I am missing out on my club's regeneration. I will get to some games, with my friend's help and hopefully the TV package will make up for it.
  14. Twitter is a breeding ground for pricks of the highest order. Unfortunately, it's the only place I can go to for friendlies information but that is now under review after witnessing the WUMs in fine form today.
  15. Got to laugh at the moronic pricks on Twatter, not got a brain cell amongst them.
  16. It doesn't take much, looking at the list, to know which players need to go. Such a refreshing change from previous seasons and I am now apologising for any shit I threw at Unsworth and his team. Genuinely looking forward to the coming season now.
  17. I totally forgot Hartlepool were in this league next season, so yes, I agree they will probably be in the mix, having been here before. Re-thinking the 'Dale situation and that they could struggle as we did first part of last season. The shock of the new and all that.
  18. Well done...on spouting a load of bollocks with your first [and hopefully last] post.
  19. I hope Stockport go up as it paves the way to the possibilities for other clubs. Here's hoping our club recruits well and we can do the same. Chesterfield and 'Dale should be the only clubs to cause Latics any possible problems next season but we all know that would be in an ideal world. Clubs who, last season, gave us the run around and snatched points will hopefully be despatched with skill and confidence. I believe it will be a totally different kettle of fish this time around.
  20. Long may it continue, if it brings more money for Latics. Matt Smith scores the winner for Salford vs Stockport in the first leg of the League Two playoffs.
  21. In the words of The Prodigy "Change my pitch up..."
  22. Still sticks in my throat that Stevenage will be two leagues above Latics after a Covid-foreshortened season saw them escape certain relegation to Non League. Latics were what, 22pts the better at the time?
