  1. Morais on for Luca......one fancy dan for another, worked at Charlton!!
  2. No way that our defenders are good enough to stop Lee Hughes scoring
  3. What a bull:censored: update from the club!....made an enquiry to LFC today? 24 hours after we sold out? And, upper trier "could" have been available.....if what?....we'd thought to plan ahead ahead 3 weeks ago? What a bunch of muppets!!!!!
  4. My point is that the club knows there are rumours going around so why not quash them, and, it also knows there are many fans who couldn't get tickets so why not update them? The issue of season ticket holders is not relevant. The home club has to offer a certain percentage of seats for cup games and has to move season ticket holders as necessary. It can only reduce the % allocation on segregation/safety issues. I suspect the only reason we don't have more tickets is because SC et al didn't we think we could sell them and wouldn't take the additional financial risk. My frustration is they should have had a plan B option in place in case we sold out very fast and they could make a decision in conjunction with LFC on taking the upper tier.....maybe this is completely wrong or maybe it happened, or, maybe they didn't think it through. As the club won't tell us we are reduced to speculation!
  5. To HallamBlue; thanks for your really kind comment mate To Jimsleftfoot; I thought I was ok as a mate was going to pick some up for me yesterday but had to be at work and , much as we all did, was caught out by the queues and couldn't wait for 3/4 hours The only gripe I have with the club is that they have not communicated in any way about the prospect/rumour of any additional allocation, I think they should have addressed that yesterday pm or certainly this morning so that the hundreds (?) of disappointed fans can make alternative arrangements or at least get on with drowning our sorrows!! I admit it is a little hard to take that I can't get a ticket and after four decades of supporting Latics through thick and thin (mostly thin!)
  6. Absolutely gutted about missing Anfield. Live 200 miles away so no chance to get to BP today, tried for several hours to get through by phone but no joy. Supported the club for over 40 years and although I can only get to maybe ten games a year I feel like more of a true fan than the thousands who don't bother to go to home games despite living in Oldham I'm praying the club take an extra allocation (surely there is some kind of contingency plan if sales went as well as they have?) Realistically, and knowing Latics, I guess there is little chance. Not really a moan and I wish the "day trippers" well but please can you bother to turn up a little more often, maybe I'll even see you away at Dagenham on a rainy February day when we're 17th in the league !
  7. "I doubt we'd sell another 3,000. As much as that would benefit lazy twats like me, it'd just be a waste of money and plain stupid from the club. ....but "do the math" the 3,000 would ve treated as being sold as soon as we commit to them, therefore we would keep say 45% of that revenue so the risk is only around half of the total number....SC will know the figures and can make the call that it's better to have another 1500 Latics fans at "cost price" who might then come to other games etc
  8. http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/page/NewsUpdate/0,,10337~2560142,00.html on official site "please don't ring" ...so that's that then for us exiles!!!
  9. .....are you sure? From what seems to be being said on here from people in the queue, we could be sold out by lunchtime. As I live down South, looks like my only hope is we sell out this morning and the club are brave enough to take the 3k in the top tier (assuming this option actualy exists!) I guess the maths are 3,000 x £25 = £75k risk for Latics....but, it's only really about half that as we would keep around 45% of the £75k as the tickets are treated as being sold once we commit to them presumably. So then any we actually sell further reduce the exposure. Go on Simon, take the extra tickets!!!!
  10. Me too, finally got it to ring but no answer. To be honest, I'd feel a little guilty if I could get tickets from 200 miles away ahead of people who have been queing for 4 hours in the cold and rain! Does anyone think we might sell out the 6.2k so fast that the club will take the 3k (?) extra for the upper tier?
  11. Good to see the players are not distracted by the Anfield game
  12. What a load of crap! 4 of us would have been driving up from London on Saturday or Sunday but down to 1 at best for the Friday.
  13. "Wednesday have won without ever playing well, a bit of noise second half & surprise , surprise the back 4 fall apart...can't wait to see them handle the Kop" Blimey, I think i've lost some days somewhere...did we beat Southend then?? I Hope the players don't assume they're going to Liverpool or Wembley in the JPS
  14. "Easy win regardless but rather have Oldham over Southend. Southend are at the top and are in a habit of winning." ...more confidence from the Liverpool boards
  15. We get 45% of the gate (after expenses, officials, stewards etc etc) so what might that be?...40,000 x £25 x 45% = £450,000??? + we get £27,000 if we beat Southend + we'll perhaps(?) get around £250,000 if we get to the JPS final!! Mr Corney must a very nervous chap right now!!
  16. We MUST be up for the Bradford game 'though, it still represents our best chance of going to Wembley....shades of '89, 2 cup runs and just outside the playoff places. We can then afford to keep the players we want to, strenghten the squad and next year it's all about promotion......BUT, one thing at a time and Tuesday night is a must win.
  17. 3-3 What a load of crap from 3-0 up To be fair we are fantastic in parts of matches but this team is way too young and lacking in quality/depth to make the play offs even in this pretty poor division. Sadly it's going to be another summer of mystery as to what squad we have next year and Dickov deserves credit for keeping us clear of the relegation zone
  18. Last week was brilliant, BUT, we simply can't win at home and we always seem to struggle against ten men. Another very poor home result today. Realistically mid table would be very good this season and with our good away form we should be safe.
  19. Maybe we should see if that Paul Scholes lad would be interested???
  20. What I find incredible is that (according to the BBC stats) with 20 mins to go we have not had a shot on target!! I still can't understand how, since Christmas we have had so many games where we#vre created so little, although given our strikers records it probably doesn't really matter how many chances we create!! It's going to be a funny old season, absolutely no idea what to expect but Corney was pretty clear this week that the only target is survival and he thinks even that's punching above our current weight
  21. 4-1 with 30 mins to go, sounds like Col U could have had ten according to the reports
