  1. Is wankleman the child catcher from chitty chitty bang bang? A few youngsters near me were terrified when he came on at the end
  2. I love his line "in two games we've had 2 sent off and 8 booked and there hasn't been a bad tackle".......priceless !!
  3. I am going for the first time to MK Franchise.....absolutely hate them and always said I would not go until Wimbledon were back in the league. I would rather be there to add support to Latics with the enduring hope that MK will start heading down and be eclipsed by the true dons in the next season or two
  4. The irony with their penalty on Saturday which led to more moaning and abuse from some of the lads at the back was that it was given away by Tonk, chasing all the way back to his own penalty area to try and win the ball back!!
  5. We were ok in patches today and you have to give credit to Wycombe who, whilst clearly not good enough for this division, never gave up and played pretty well for 20 mins in the second half and could, maybe should, have won it. The point is we also battled and I didn't see any evidence that our players didn't want it or that PD doesn't know what he is doing as some have been saying.
  6. Firstly, well done to those of us that went but can the planks who were singing "you're not fit where the shirt" please take a long hard look at themselves!? And especially the individual who very loudly and clearly called Bouzanis a "f*****g Tw*t" after he made his only mistake of the game I really struggle to understand what some of our fans expect from a squad which is clearly mid table 3rd division quality and with a young manager learning his trade. In my 40+ years following Latics I have rarely been so saddened by the attitude of our fans. I don't live close to Oldham so don't get to many home games these days but it appears the town have given up on the club and bizarrely even the fans that turn up have also given up. Very, very sad.
  7. Have to agree with him! It was f*****g embarrassing listening to our fans singing "you're not fit to wear the shirt"
  8. Next week is still massive, final chance for Wycombe and they would move just 3 points behind us with a win
  9. .....that the play-offs are or were ever possible ?!
  10. For crying out loud,, we have no chance of the play offs, simply not good enough anywhere on the pitch Get a grip everyone
  11. And what do we get?....crap crowd, crap performance and crap result
  12. We are kidding ourselves if we think we are in anything but big trouble for next season....and maybe this season if we don't win in the next few games. The facts are that we are simply not good enough to finish much higher than where we are now
  13. "thats our season over pretty much and we have to make sure we pick up points in the league or we could be fighting relegation. hope Chesterfield get relegated and take Rochdale with them!!! " I suspect we have a relegation battle on now so not quite season over!
  14. I've supported the club for 42 years....we've had maybe 6 great seasons in that time!! The enduring beauty of football is that the clock is reset every season
  15. The problem is that next years budget will now be even lower Not sure it's PD's fault that Kuqi hasn't scored for 11 games Mvoto can't defend properly Simpson had a poor second half Firman was really missed in the middle Every cross was under hit, over hit or mis hit
  16. I thought Mvoto got worse as the game went on, some of his decision making was very poor and he looked nervous as hell. The goal was absolutely his fault, he let it bounce outside the area and then left it to Cisak when he should have taken responsibility. Time to bench him and let Tarky prepare for next season as we're only going to have reserve players left anyway
  17. I don't think my post was negative per se, I think PD should be given 5 years. My point was that we have got a little carried away because of the JPT run and the luck of the draw v Liverpool....ask yourself if you would have felt the same about things if we had drawn Dagenham in the 3rd round! My point is we are a work in progress and the JP final offers us a chance for a massive boost....I just hope the players grasp it n the 2nd leg
  18. The problem is we seem to have convinced ourselves that we are better than we are.... After 25 games the league table does not lie, we are17th because we are not that great ( and with our budget and an inexperienced, but promsing, manager it shouldn't be that much of a surprise) I suspect our best result ths season was the 1-1 draw at Southend when they were flying, other than that we have been very average. Liverpool was great for 30 minutes but we did lose 1-5 in case anyone hadn't realised! The cups have been a nice distraction and have disguised our poor league form. The 2nd leg won't just define this season, it will define next season too as the Wembley money should give PD a chance to keep and build on the decent work he has begun. If we lose the tie (and lets face it, it doesn't look good right now) I really fear for the club......biggest game since Hughes mi:censored: that last minute volley into the top corner!!!!
  19. Congratulations, you have won a one way luxury Italian cruise with Costa Lines
  20. And yet better than us quite a few times
  21. I don't think we are anywhere near good enough for the playoffs this year...all about Anfield and most importantly Wembley and the use the extra cash and positive atmosphere to retain this squad and add to it in the summer to make a genuine playoff challenge next season.....simples!!
  22. We don't know yet after Barnet 1 Swindon 1 And of-course the small matter of getting past Shez
  23. As a slight aside, I thought the five live commentary was excellent on Friday, not at all patronising, just called it as they saw it, first 30 mins Oldham are the better team and should be 2 up, Liverpool upped their game after we scored and ultimately 5-1 was flattering to LFC but in control most of the second half and Bellamy was the difference. They also judged the Adeyemi "situation" well.."we can't be sure what has happened but does not look good" etc. Really good to listen to.
