  1. For a Youth manager, yes. It's the 15 years since that are far more relevant.
  2. Given he has never lasted more than a year anywhere, I'd be a amazed he has any sort of plan. or chance to implement one.
  3. Creaaak Sound of loads of expectations moving. I expect a struggle.
  4. Trouble is the three you named were unknown quantities and had no track record. This guy has a track record as long as your arm and it's 95% shite. Nothing we can do, but you can't expect people to just shrug their shoulders on the back of nigh on 30 years of similarly shit decisions, and 2 years of extremely shit decisions.
  5. I've uodated that sjk, see post above from Eurosport and also requested transfermarkt update.
  6. OK HEre are some details of his time at Al Kuwait, maybe the Man City of the Kuwait League., for 16/17 season His first game was 28/09/16 https://www.eurosport.com/football/kuwait-league/2016-2017/live-al-sulaibikhat-al-kuwait-sc_mtc910042/live.shtml#Teams His last LEague game was 25/05/17 https://www.eurosport.com/football/kuwait-league/2016-2017/live-al-salmiya-al-kuwait-sc_mtc910110/live.shtml#Teams The games either side he is not listed as manager. There is a Crown Prince Cup and Emir Cup, I'm going Charity Shield and Checkatrade, rather than League and FA Cup.....! Trying to find that season. But yes Shuck, Champions scoring 70 in 28 games https://www.oddsportal.com/soccer/kuwait/premier-league-2016-2017/standings/ I;ve written to transfermarkt to update.
  7. Not as far as I can see. And I think the Press Release would have said. The Cup is like the Charity Shield and played around Feb-April. He seems to have been in charge from June to October and either 0 or games depending where you read. Actually I've just seen he won the Emir of Qatar Cup in 2007/08 Umm al Salal so I take it all back. He lasted from (Nov 7, 2007–Nov 3, 2008) . 8 teams of 10 league qualified, But they play in Tangerine. An omen https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emir_of_Qatar_Cup https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2007–08_Qatar_Stars_League
  8. He was saying he knew he had not won anything as he researched it. You either go rookie, which have tried untold times. (though I have said numerous times they need to have worked as Asst) or experienced winner like the three I mentioned. Banide's experienced in failure. But Toure.
  9. The trouble is his record is so bad, most would put money on this guy emulating Warnock, Penney and Talbot in direness. You said a lot arrive with no English, but how many in L2 and how many successful?
  10. Are you saying Warnock was a success at Oldham?
  11. He won the Champions League, we'll go 3 seasons unbeaten and have an 100% record for the first 21 games in the Prem. Good stuff this, eradicates 28 years of hurt.
  12. I don't know who you are looking at, but he was sacked by Al Dhafra in Dec 2015, having won 1 game in 10, and did not manage again until Sept 2017 when he took over Al Khor where he lasted 6 games winning 1 and was sacked in Oct 2017. The highest he has ever finished is 9th. He's never done a full season to be able to tell how he would finish.
  13. Yes. Big budgets. Just what we need then... And his record with these excellent players? Shocking. He's lived of the fact he gave Yaya Toure a good start to his Monaco career, after ructions with the previous manager.
  14. Linked to Yaya Toure and Man City. https://es.mancity.com/noticias/primer-equipo/first-team-news/2017/february/man-city-yaya-toure-monaco-laurent-banide-interview
  15. So Marco, what is it that first attracted you to the French, arabic speaking, not working for another3 weeks, cheap option Laurent Banide?
  16. Uncle of Benjamin Strambouli, of Schalke, ex Spurs. Barrel scraped. Odd that he starts on 1st July, when he hasn't workesd since Nov 2018. Well, not that odd. Having worked in the Gulf Stated for nigh on 12 years, you'd imagine his Arabic would be passable too.
  17. Was just seeing the difference on the BBC pages to 11th June, June 2018: 40 transfers involving at least one 72 EFL. June 2019: 27 trasnfers. And 6 are Northampton. So far less activity this year across the board, so far. My hunch is more lastminute.com activity as clubs are stuck.
  18. I was trying to work out how much he would save. A month's of Scholes salary would be £25k. New guy unlikely to be on that. IIRC the whole club was £3m. that's £250k saving. We have a half a team and most of the non football team staff, so what is that. Maybe £1m more fooball staff? That's approx £85k. So ball park he is saving £100,000 for the extra month. But most football cotracts run out on 30th June don't they? So it is the saving from July really, and that might not be so substantial.
  19. Left of fields based on a hunch, wonder if Mark Briggs might appear on the horizon.
  20. I had a look who edited earlier! 3 edits. 1. Totally annonymous person 2. Anonymous, but based in Bristol, likely a Recruitment consultants by their IP 3. A Banglasdeshi Tax Official! Odd!
