  1. It was a 5 year deal from July 2014, and later extended to 6 years. I guess there may be break clauses activateable for either side, maybe if ownership changed.
  2. C'mon, I respect you a lot-your knowledge, commitment to stop the Rot, past insider knowledge and regular following the club. I literally said I am trying to understand your standpoint. I'm hardly the only one that finds it perplexing at the moment. I acknowledge and appreciate the points you raised. And it would be wrong in this thread to go over them with a fine tooth comb but the worry is they are hardly proven yet and a massive gamble.
  3. I've looked as far back till I found an actual critical post. I had to go back to November 2018. Very interesting and considered post. and fair. Critical but not harshly so. Adn acknowledging the interference is at least understandable, but I thnik the issue most have is stating who to play. Since then, it's been more snappy and soundbitey. I just would like to know what has changed. It really is like you know information but are not divulging and I am trying to understand it.
  4. Only a fool would believe what the owner and his brother say unconditionally.
  5. But happy enough to churn out the Corney stuff over and over despite him being irrelevant for 2 years. Do you really believe he is suing Corney for Nercarcu, or anything?
  6. Yeah, not much negative has been highlighted in the last 2 years... Or did you mean there has been so much you've forgotten much of it?
  7. He said not. He gave assurances not. He said he is 5 years from retirement. He specialises in smaller 5-10 lots of houses at a time. So far more transparent in one day than the owner in 2 years. We can track the finances. I'm prepared to believe him, but ask him yourself. Happy we keep an eye on it. Don't think there is much need for the snidey insinuation.
  8. That really is not yet proved. We don't know if he paid a single penny if the £5m. We still owe a vast sum compared to many. Skeletons may yet appear. We cannot rule out converting that debt to other forms. He's not saved much on back of house staff, turnover is high and recruitment costs repeated not reduced staff numbers by any meaningful numbers. I can't comment on coaches because I assume he pushed the boat out for Scholes and although I was sceptical of success he had to try. Pete was not a plan, just 100% luck. Jury is still out for me.
  9. A reminder I think worth highlighting. Paul W worked in the ticket office as a volunteer for a number of years prior to the stand being built.
  10. Surely the second option says exactly that he would enable one owner. Clearly for the immediate future he is not able to ensure one owner, but not is he saying that is a must but an ideal scenario. Not at any cost is I think an acceptable caveat. Focus on the FLG if you must, but the current owner turned down these terms. The question is why. But better interested, passionate, local owners than an absentee one.
  11. Lees selling the Clayton land to another developer is an interesting aspect did not know before.
  12. No-one from the FLG is making this hotel company invest. If they want to do it, that is up to them. They will know their own market well enough and have very experienced staff at sourcing sites. It's simply a positive that underpins the development. And possibly a major contribution to the £500k. It's a certain type of person that tells their employer chapter and verse why they are leaving. Resignation letters are very bland and simplistic by most people. PW was there to sell tickets, and make it an event. I'm amazed at some people failing to see much past his involvement and look at the bigger picture.
  13. https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1155225645812781056.html Kevin Williams @WilliamsKevin an hour ago, 27 tweets, 9 min read Read on Twitter Oldham Athletic Fans Led Group Meeting Tonight. Points #oafc FLG: 1/27 FLG funded by local businessmen who are fans. Paul Whitehead (speaking) Simon Wood Simon Brooke. Others who want to remain anonymous for the time being due to business and personal reasons 2/27 #OAFC FLG MEETING: Paul Whitehead of Holroys Construction was head of the development if the north stand and passionate about the club 3/27 #OAFC FLG MEETING: Plan: To complete the North Stand, purchase it and the rest of ground to secure it long term. Then best use them to generate money for the football club to help sustainability 4/27 #OAFC FLG MEETING: Price is agreed to buy Brass Bank for £7 million car park plus stadium 5/27 #OAFC FLG MEETING: Surrounding land sold being sold by Blitz to a housing builder. FLG only want to buy stadium and not surrounding land as that would incur much extra cost and loans and interest 6/27 #OAFC FLG MEETING: Plan to build a hotel, new changing rooms and physio between Joe Royle and Jimmy Frizzle stand. 7/27 #OAFC FLG MEETING: Already been approached by a Global brand to redevelop the main stand 8/27 #OAFC FLG MEETING: Tried to arrange a meetings with Abdallah but so far he's refused. FLG continue to reach out to Mr Lemsagam but so far he is unwilling 9/27 #OAFC FLG MEETING: Stadium was available for sale at same price when Abdallah bought the club, but wasn't interested 10/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: What's to stop the owner buying the stadium for the same deal? - If he can pay the 7 million without a loan and so not put the club in debt to high interest payments and show he can generate money, he can 11/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: Is Simon Corney involved? No, in no way 12/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: What makes Gazal and Blitz want to sell? They are desperate to be free of the hassle 13/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: What about Little Wembley? The club bought that back from Oldham council, it was made clear to me that that is not part of the deal 14/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: Why does the OEC operate the kiosks, pie stands? The club has the option to take them back, we actually operate then at a loss 15/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: Why did FLG get involved? Every month you hear reports of players not being paid, bills not being paid, we want it to be properly run so we can just watch the matches and not worry about the clubs future 16/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: Ultimately the whole club to be run as one whether that is with the current owner or someone else. 17/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: What's Next? Final details put together and shares available by end of year, then owned by fans, there will be a mechanism in place so one person (or Abdallah & his brother) can't buy a majority. 18/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: Development planning is already in place with Oldham Council. Hotel was given permission in 2009 19/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: What stops Abdallah taking the club somewhere else? We've already spoken to the Football League and they are very unlikely to grant this club to be moved elsewhere whilst the the tenor of the stadium is secure, so a Coventry won't happen 20/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: What's to stop Abdallah closing the North Stand all season? He can do but it doesn't effect us as we don't make a penny on it, all the money goes to the club 21/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: Over a 1000 season tickets sold in North stand, we've had no indication as yet from the club that it will be open 22/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: The club set the prices for hundred club, boxes and matchday hospitality we don't have a say in that. 23/32 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: What if the club refuses to talk the FLG? That's their choice if they don't want an extra £500K a year generated income 24/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: Out of this deal every single penny goes to the club. I [Paul Whitehead] am putting money into it, but I'm not getting anything out of this. I will be a shareholder but won't take a salary or a penny in dividends 25/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: The club has not owned the land since 1999 when it was sold to Oldham council. Brass Bank bought it in 2004. JW Lees sold it to council, Chris Moore came in and thought about buying it back but never did 26/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: The Clayton Arms area where the new houses are now, was never sold to the club, the brewery sold it to a London housing company 27/27 Q&A #OAFC FLG MEETING: A positive meeting. Unrelated point: The OEC looks an excellent facility and I thought the staff working there tonight were top class! (had to add another point up to make 27, but worth saying )
  14. I've run out of likes, so He's coming round, slowly, slowly.
  15. At least it is sensible having another game for the newer players to play together.
  16. I'd got it into my head tht Gazal had also setepped down at Brassbank, clearly he hasn't . Otherwise everthing you, and I, have said stands. Not sure what you are trying to say.
  17. Brassbank don't own OEC, its a separate entity. The owner of Brassbank is also a part owner of the OEC. He sold seaon tickets , 100 Club, car parking and hospitality based on use of the OEC, so clearly did not have an issue then. it's only the 4% increase that has triggered his toy chucking. It's the clubs problem due to contractual agreements. The agreements will be used to pay the OEC repayments though. Also, it is not neccesarily the banks that are the creditors.
  18. I wonder if the Brentford forum know? I did chuckle greatly when we found out he called himself opinions5u on there. Of course, practically no one knew on here of his "double life", but it was no surprise he was as fondly remembered on there too.
  19. If it was 1.2k (and I recall that figure myself) they are doing as g ood a job as the owner because they are down to 927 now. About the same loss rate as the season tickets.
  20. An update! I'm sure you'll be the first to say is still far from functioning.
