I think we can take the interview bit for granted
You really think so? I wouldn't be at all surprised to hear that returning managers are just invited back for a cup of tea and a chat about salary expectations.
-
I wouldn't mind him back, but I wouldn't go sacking a manager to bring him in. And he'd have to interview again. Impressively.

Success is the same for us as any club: Improvement in the way of higher league positions, promotions and trophies. Any thing less is at best inertia and at worst decline. Inertia is tedious but is looking bloody ambitious at the moment.

Not if it was for a foul.
In direct free kick is awarded for obstruction, dangerous play or when you fail to let a keeper release the ball!
Aye, also offsides.

You could wrap it in a Latics' bag for life. Labour saving and a double winner for the recipient. I can't wait to see the look on my mother-in-law's face.
I can't wait to see the bruising on yours

9. Rattles. Obviously. A leftover from warnings of gas attacks in the trenches every self respecting young supporter had one. (So did some older ones). No way would they be allowed nowadays.
My old next door neighbour gave me his old Latics rattle when I was a kid. It's lovely. Home painted blue frame and tangerine flappy bits, with skew-whiff gold lettering spelling out "LATICS" on the blue.
It makes a hell of a noise. I've never actually tried taking it to a Latics game but it went down a storm in lieu of a cowbell when the Tour de France came through Yorkshire last year.

I don't like FC United, but I do respect them.
Having said that, Chesterfield to Manchester on a Monday night is hardly a Fogg-esque trip.

David Eyres. He only sneaks in having retired in 2006, but he wins hands down for me.

Latics bags-for-life. Now there's a good idea.

:censored:ing hell.
"Ashley Charles, also known as Amplify Dot, A.Dot or Dotty, is a rapper from South London, England."
I was hoping/assuming it was something technological that someone was paying for while not quite understanding what it was or did - like that Spyro thing we've now got....
All is forgiven, I'd change my name to something less ridiculous if I had two first names.

Is "Amplify Dot" the name of a person?
Please tell me it's not..
Only to her mates. She goes by Amplify Dorothy officially.

Wasn't it because they were away somewhere as far south as the black country? I totally agree with them. I hope they go for the so-called holier-than-thou option again if it comes to it.
That makes sense. I was a bit puzzled by their ant-TV stance as they'd already been televised on a Friday night against Rochdale a few years back.

In 2013 I was in a little shop in Wadi Rum wearing a Zidane tee-shirt. An old Jordanian chap recognised it and in broken English started talking football; asking where I was from, did I support United etc. When I said "Oldham Athletic" he screwed his face up thoughtfully for a moment before lighting up and proclaiming "Ahhhh! Scholesy's team!"

Kenny Dalglish & Kevin Keegan "total duffers"??
Dalglish won the first double in a generation back when it still meant something and went on to become one of very few managers to win titles with more than one club......
Keegan got promotions with 3 different clubs, nearly won the league with Newcastle (NEWCASTLE!) and got himself the England job....
Exactly what I was going to say. Dalglish won four league titles and two FA Cups for Christ's sake.
Alex Ferguson
- Played for the mighty Dunfirmline, Ayr Utd and Forfar
- 1 Scottish league cup runners up medal.
- Scored a few goals.
When you do your second draft of Ferguson's CV he'd probably appreciate you including Rangers.

Me thinks the damage is done and even if successful i doubt he would get a club higher than conference level if that.
Unfortunately with internet today these things don't fade away from the news like Lee Hughes issue did.
My memory's hazy but I think we signed Lee Hughes after the internet had become a popular communication tool.
You're right though - these thing's don't fade away, but those who stand to benefit will happily ignore them.

I love how much the Thai owners feature.

Surely the far more difficult & impressive feat of Correct Attendance should be the first port of call in the event of a tie?
There are thousands of possibilities there.
My kids, and even my wife, could successfully predict the odd W,L,D result.....
Especially if they chose the same one every week.....
FFS.
But correct attendance has little to do with footballing knowledge, which is surely the name of the game.

I'm definitely making the trip. Might only scrape kick-off though, which is a shame as I'm sure there's loads to do in Gillingham on a Saturday lunchtime.

Ohhh. We arent playing well atm so lets get some egg chasers in to :censored: the pitch up.
No, sorry, I dont get that one.
Rugby doesn't necessarily go hand in hand with a :censored:ed up pitch. We've got good ground staff, with warning they should be able to prepare sufficiently.

It's alright.
Newport, Cardiff and Swansea whenever they drop down can't complain though. They are Welsh teams given the right to play in the English leagues, it's never been a British league.
