As you well now Monday's crowd was an artificial one caused by live tv & exasperted by the weather. Crowds were a little higher in 74-91 , but not markedly. Quality management , support of the brewery , profit from sales were the main reasons. Lower league football was not like today were a whole team are practically shipped in and out every 12 months.

Being able to set off for the game at 2:30 from the far end of Shaw & being able to stroll in with no queue , get a pie & coffee , sit almost anywhere by 3 PM . I like the old stadium , I have never wanted a new soulless corporate version.

I got on the coach after the replay. A chap spoke to me & I literally could not speak . I was distraught & thought it would be the end for us & the break up of our magnificent team. Mind next couple of years weren't too shabby.

It was an unbelievable Bank Holiday Monday if I recollect. We should have been 4-0 up before we scored. I thought we were going to pay for missing chances. A sublime hat-trick from Roger & as for Milligan's awesome lob of the goalie. Not forgetting their contender for worst ever taken penalty. However we did them a favour by showing their management how bad they were...... They got promoted , we didn't win away from home again for an eternity.

I keep a score out of 10 for each performance & I have Clarke leading by sheer consistency.

Lots of good performances , but Simpson who I thought was shocking against Brentford won it for me. A very classy performance , if he keeps that level of quality passing up , will be a belter.

Simpson was very good last night , always seemed to have lots of time & some terrific passes. I think everyone now realises that Cisak is a very good goalkeeper , I think he is the best we have had since Gary Kelly. Clarke would be a terrific signing , Kuqi & Reid have the goals , but I think he is our best player week in week out so far. Never mind the opposing manager , the dreadfully biased tv presentation was worse. Hardly a word on the home team pre kick off , just how wonderful the MK Dons boss was ....swap budgets & see how good he is.

Simpson who I thought was very poor against Brentford was excellent tonight.Terrific technique & quality passes Captain should probably have cleared the ball before Morrison scored . Mellor was very good , full of confidence going forward. And Adeyemi will come on leaps and bounds after his goal , strong play & a nice finish. Weselowski yet another of thos effective & necessary hard working shifts. And as for their goalie .
