The 1-1 draw at Everton in the cup replay was an amazing night. Nearly all their team booked & Whiteside sent off as they tried to literally kick a lower division team off the pitch ...what a tribute to our team. The directors tossed a coin for game 3 ......the roar as we got them back to BP was awesome ...where we hammered them.

That's more like it .....thought you would be suggesting Craig Fleming or Gary Kelly next

Great description of Marshy's goal against Notts County. It looked like we had thrown victory away until ...... I can't ever recollect a ball being hit so hard & travelling for it's entire journey at about 2 inches of the ground like a missile. It got goal of the week on tv ...a staggering shot ...now where is that video.

We only have one quality centre hald imo & he is borrowed ....this is our biggest problem this season. I have been very disappointied with Diamond & Mvoto.

Why on earth are our paceless centre halfs so far forward that one hoofed ball has them turning . The keeper had no chance. It's not rocket science ,if the centre halfs aren't quick they must play deeper or not square. Terrific save by Gerrard , but yet more shambolic defending giving the 2 goals. A very spirited second half performance , Simpson was outstanding once again.

Perhaps I'm over selling this a bit Not overselling it. First time both semis shown live one after another , because of the tragdey at Hillsborough, finishing 4-3 and 3-3 ...incredible. Still remember walking to Miane Road as a coach of United fans came past. Their game was 3-3 in extra time time. The coach erupted in celebration ..... I didn't think it was Liverpool that had scored. I got on the coach back after the replay & could not physically speak , never felt as bad at a football game in all the years of going(and that includes Keith Edwards winner in the playoffs).

Scarpuzzi will start up front , Simpson back in midfield , no chance of Wes playing imo.

Oh and I also recall the linesman incident at Leeds Road. Can you imagine the coverage & fallout that would get today ?

Great stuff .... some terrific games . My thoughts 1987 , Neil Adams was a fantastic player for us , but after we bought him I did wonder how on earth this little chap put us out of the League Cup with a header. 1988, The Bank holiday at City was a surreal day we could have had 10. But in the end they got promoted & we didn't win away again for 6 months . The defeat to Everton in League Cup. I remember leaving the game for the first ever thinking we could now beat good teams & would do. Yew we lost 2-0 , but for 85 minutes we had battered Everton. 1990 I hated losing the League Cup final , I didn't care it was a great day for the club & the weather was fantastic. I think the weather lost us the game , very hard for out midfield yard dogs to stop Forest on a big pitch in a heatwave. Amazed you didn't have the 2-2 draw at Sheff Wed in 1989/90 down. 2-0 up at half time as Wednesday hit our woodwork 5 times, with Warhurst's pace at full back destroying them.. 2 Sheridan penalties giving the a draw. You have to admire any young person who becomes ad Oldham fan & sticks with our boys. The richest club on the planet & the most succesful Premier League teams on our doorsteps , all the ribbing they must take off mates & at school.Far too easy to go with the majority. These kids are made of the right stuff .

If Morais leaves I am never watching Latics again Good riddance would be my thoughts on this theoretical happening.

After the Garnett fiasco ... now this. I took the missus to her first game at BP . We beat Swindon 5-1 , the highlight being the sublime partnership in the game between Ritchie & Rush , it was like a work of art. We have had hundreds of duffers, why not pick one or two of them for this project.

Looking at our fixtures for the remainder of 2011 we appear to currently have 7 home and only 2 away games , with more possible cup ties to be added.

Was totally unimpressed with his first full game , Brentford I think ? However he has been terrific since , brings some very classy & different aspects to our team. Shows the strength in depth at Huddy , that he and Clarke (our most consistent player this season imo) are on loan here.

Watching the draw thsi afternoon , all I wanted was an home tie to make this four in a row .....top banana

The new Milligan / Henry ....get a grip folks , those guys tangled with the league champions & league leaders in 1989/90 , not division 3 fodder.

Stick to listening to the debut album me thinks. Did any of you see them live back in the day (yikes) & now they are middle aged . Love the studio stuff but wouldn't watch them for free on George St playing fields ...well done the Marketing people.

Simpson was man of the match for me. Another classy performance , this time acting as strike support for Kuqi. Furman close behind , a terrific first full game back. A comfortable win against a poor team me thinks , Cisak was a spectator.

A very dull game until the first goal. Cisak had nothing to do at all in the game. Good second half performance. Furman played very well in his first full game back. But for me Simpson was man of the match. Played superbly alongside Kuqi for most of the game. Kugi could well have doubled the score for a more emphatic scoreline as well as Simpsons effort headed off the line. Let's not do MK Dons again .....follow up with a dreadful performance .

Hardly a forgotten story , well not to me . This is the highest aggregate in football league history. Plaiyng on Christmas Day & Boxing Day and against the same team , and they whinge today about 3 games over the holiday period. Looking at the turnaround between the games ,looks like they were a teeny weeny bit more prepared for the second game & looks like our lads enjoyed the rest of their Xmas day big time. Good lads.

They are what they are ...hot and cold & inconsistent. Most players at this level are , not very much he can do. He & his team of staff appear to keep drumming into them to forget a good win & make sure they do it again the next time .....but this weeks games are typical of the team.

Between 1974 and 1997 we didn't mention the FA Cup until the 3rd draw was made to be played at the start of Jsnuary . happy days

You must be joking , he was streets ahead of any of the guys who have played centre half in the last goodness knows years. No superstar , solid player .....hundreds of others in front of this guy in the queue for donkeyville.
