  1. I've never understood why people look down their noses at the French and Koreans for eating horses and dogs when they're quite happy to eat lamb and pork. Pigs are more intelligent than horses and lambs are cuter than dogs.

Brings to mind that old gag.......................Korean meatballs really are the dogs bollox!

  2. The plans in which Latics have used for the new stand comprise of two elements - the new stand, which is made my the architects - and the other :censored: bits of the stadium made by me, hence why they have not accredited my work and have 'stolen' it (i'll use stolen loosely)

You would prob be best to phone FWP. Maybe as a way of compensation you could ask them to donate £x amount to the Latics for life scheme?

  3. I can see a lot more goals coming from corners and set pieces this season, with the combination of more height and better delivery within the team. We have already shown pre-season that we look far more dangerous in this area, than previous seasons.

Also I see Simpson playing a more central forward position something PD seems to be encouraging.

  4. Bloody hell what club was that?

I hope that you all like us Gooner's a little more now :OASISscarf:

Two of my sons friends one a City fan and one a Utd fan, I overheard them talking with my 15 year old son about it. I think they got to hear about it on twitter! (one of whom is coming next season with said son to BP on a £10 ticket.

  5. This all started with a plea for a football for a kid who'd had there's nicked, anyone know if he ever got the ball?

From little acorns giant oak trees grow, this superb initiative is now being promoted in so many ways that I'm hearing about it from fans of other clubs. Brilliant work. Especially those who are doing the legwork. Well done!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. We need to get a local construction firm on board, ask them to do the foundations and the diggy down bit for free and we'll name the stand after them for 10 years?

As a rule of thumb groundwork's are one the most expensive and time consuming element of any new build project

  7. From the OS for those who can't access it.

    Pay on the night

Latics are reminding fans of arrangements for Monday's Capital One Cup. first-round tie against Sheffield Wednesday at Boundary Park, kick off 7.45pm.

Adults are £10 while concessions (over-65's and under-16's) are £5 and it will be pay on the turnstiles.

Sheffield Wednesday have been allocated the large section of the Rochdale Road Stand.

The small section will remain a sterile zone so home fans will only be able to sit in the Main Stand and Chaddy End.

  8. Perhaps the £1.5m more I estimate TTA are putting in to this new stand out of their own pockets?

Quite possible, I just think they have probably made money on the Failsworth fiasco rather than lost it.

I was sat in the Maine stand last week and tried to imagine the new stand from my view point. Conclusion I thought it would look amazing considering what's there now.

I personally think success on the pitch is more important to me. I have always gone to watch the team! I have gone when we were great I have gone when we were dire and when we have been very average. However I have never gone to watch a stand!

  9. Surely they lost money on the Failsworth plot, taking into account wasted costs, interest etc?

One thing I really don't get is the calls for a tunnel. Even if the changing rooms were on the Broadway side I would demand that the players come down steps.

They bought land without 'Building permission' with a lot of known issues ie recreational land, allotments, etc.

The land now has all these issues resolved and so in theory should be worth a lot more.

  10. I know what you're saying - but this pre-season Simpson has been on-fire really in front of goal and had a very productive spell. PD has said he's the best finisher at the club and wants him to continue his form into the season, be more selfish in front of goal and get us goals as well as assists. I think he's showing he's more than capable of that so far.

    +1

  11. PD has come out and said on our official site, and in the advertiser, chron and MEN that he has made no approach for Lee Hughes, and that he didn't know where the rumours had come from.

Corney on his player video blog said there was no truth to the rumour at all.

I dont know how much more categorical they need to be?

They need to stop messing about with 'Mickey Mouse' press sources and just post on here as a reliable source!
