  1. Great team performance today and was worthy of a win. Actually a game of football that we as fans could get behind, support and be involved with. Shocked to see people buzzing with Sheron. Gave the ball away every time he got it. Him and Hogan the weak links today.
  2. We have to start quickly, pin them back and get that circular item on the pissing floor. The press has to be spot on, do not sit back like we did for the reverse fixture. We can’t do that, our fans will be right on the players backs. Don’t give them time to settle into their passing game, in their faces, tough in the challenge and try and play some football when we have it.
  3. To be fair to Norwood and Dallas, they would both struggle scoring from open play if they are not on the pitch. Both started 1 game each since the end of Jan / mid Feb ? I will let them off Both proved they will score goals at this level, they are not the issue. Sooner people realise this, the better.
  4. You pulled me up on another thread, yet you continue to get on BP’s back at every opportunity. Hypocritical?
  5. He consistently posts nonsense and try’s his best to go against the grain at every given opportunity. I don’t take it back.
  6. Our squad is extremely thin in some very key areas. You can stockpile on strikers but if you don’t create chances for them, you are relying on moments of brilliance or luck. The centre backs and keeper can only do so much when the opposition are running at them from the middle / wide all game.
  7. Just try to ignore him, he’s a tosser
  8. Aaron Amadi-Holloway in team of the week at centre back. How longs he been playing that position for ?
  9. Yeah, it demonstrates that we have been able to keep up form with a team that is 2/3rd through that period. You really are thick.
  10. Good to hear some fans with the same view and not everyone is hating the journey. Fingers crossed for the results tonight.
  11. I do struggle with the current fan mood, we are absolutely shit in some game, but overall we are an above average football team in the national league. For years we have been battling relegation, literally years, apart from last season. This year we are 9 games away from the play offs and it seems more depressing than relegation fights. It’s weird. The football is shit, but that’s the league, let’s enjoy the potential play off campaign.
  12. Lose to Chesterfield and it’s very likely we will be out of the play offs. We could be out of them tonight if both Gateshead and Alti win. After Chesterfield, we have a decent run of fixtures and the Saturday / Tuesday cycle stops, apart from Halifax now. Hopefully that will help our ageing squad. It’s going to be tight, but we need to stick with them and remain positive.
  13. He’s a lost cause, borderline bullying really.
  14. Hogan was an embarrassment Saturday, give the armband to Raglan and drop him for a bit.
  15. static caravans move more than our players. He has no one directly in front of him, usually has to play a 1-2 with bloody Liam Hogan ffs.
  16. He gets doubled up every game and hardly anyone to pass to.
  17. Did we string a pass together second half ? Dallas ran at them a couple of times. He also had a fantastic opportunity when Norwood found him but fell over his own feet. Apart from that, don’t think we even had a sniff.
  18. Kitch has been asked to carry us all season, I’ll let him off.
  19. I think people seriously underestimate our midfield issue, I’ll bang the drum again. We and our centre backs have no choice but to hit the ball long, they simply cannot trust any of the midfield other than Conlon to even attempt to look after the ball. The amount of times Sheron hits it long is an embarrassment. But the impact of this is, if the strikers don’t win it, or the midfield doesn’t win the second ball, we are cut open and the opposition run directly at us. That is a big reason why we have to play the system we do. We have to have as many players behind the ball, because you cannot on a consistent basis, lump it up and expect for it to stick with the strikers or the second ball to be won every time. McGahey, Sheron, Hammond, Ward and Lundy in his current form cannot keep hold of a football. This means the wing backs are pegged back, the holding player sits on the toes of the three centre backs. And we lump it all game. It’s a huge issue, one that has not been addressed for whatever reason. It is why I don’t compliment players on pressing and winning second balls when it’s a result of their inability to hold onto the ball. You are praising a correction of a limitation and the outcome is overall, shit. Get a 4 who can break up play and pass, get a 10 who can be trusted, get an 8 who will do the running AT the opposition with the ball, and this team will be different. Scrap the overload of centre backs, get some genuine wingers and fullbacks.
  20. Disagree. The following players have all proved they are capable to fight at the top end of the NL. You will notice a clear lack of width, pace and creativity in the below, which is the major issue. Hudson Kitching Hogan Hobson Raglan Conlon Lundy Gardner Norwood Garner Fondop Dallas
  21. It is a worry and if this persists I do believe a director of football should be considered. The recruitment just seems so random. I like Joe Garner and hes proved to be a good signing, but did we actually need him and Dallas ? I’m not sure we did. We would have benefitted from signing a proper right wing back, or a proper winger. Sachdev was just a last minute gamble. We have overloaded on centre backs and strikers which is dictating the formation we play. We have no plan B as apart from Green, we have no players who offer genuine width. Middle of the park, Conlon can look after the ball, but those around him just don’t want it. I just don’t understand how the balance of the squad can be this off. I genuinely believe Tollitt and Hope would at least allow us to change the formation in the game if hoofball isn’t working. I still don’t believe that Lundy is not as bad as he’s showing, but he looks absolutely petrified when he gets the ball. I think we need to change system, but I just cannot see what we can change the system to.
  22. Rather than Mellon, I think we need to look at whoever overseas recruitment. If that is DR then so be it, but whoever is doing it is continually failing. Norwood, Garner, Conlon you would expect to add quality to the team as they are known players. But other signings have been below poor. I wasn’t worried, I am now worried about recruitment. This is before we get into the balance of the squad aspect of recruitment.
  23. He scores 30+ for Chesterfield, easy. He’s lucky if he gets the ball played to his feet in our team. Not even exaggerating.
