We had a centre back at left back, left back at left wing, centre back at right back, a centre mid at right wing. - puzzling. Should have been for Sutton with Kitching and Green as the wing backs. Hammond was extremely poor, as was Sheron. Battling performance and take the point. We need to win Saturday.

Tough team to pick. I’d rather Kitching play at LB than Hogan, but can’t see him dropping any of Hobson, Raglan and Hogan after the first half against Boreham Wood. That means a shift to 5 at the back with either Green or Sutton dropping out. Don’t think we can drop Green after his last game and a half. So Sutton misses out for me, unfortunately. Everyone else, the same as Sat.

I don’t understand why you think he doesn’t do anything when the teams playing poorly. Of course he’s going to be frustrated when his team mates can’t find a simple pass, he has high standards and there is nothing wrong with that. I’ve also responded to you before now with a number of examples of how he does help the team and contribute positively in tough moments. As Ackey said, seems like we are both on the opposite end of the absolute. He’s loved at both Tranmere and Barnsley. He was at Tranmere for a sustained period but Barnsley he was there for a season. He was also liked at Ipswich. So why is it some of our fans are struggling ? He’s scoring every other game.

Couldn’t agree more. Players like Norwood get you the wins in big matches, that’s why you sign them. I still don’t understand some of the negativity towards him, don’t think I ever will. Garner and Fondop doing the business whilst he’s out has been great to see, and much needed.

Only watched the first 25mins, and we absolutely battered them. Did that continue for the rest of the half ? Fair play to Sheron and Hammond, playing very well. Green fantastic. Keep it up second half.

I agree with your comments here. MM says he set us up the way he did in the first half to be more attacking, fine. So why on earth did he play Ward, who has hardly kicked a ball for us and is not really a left winger and Hammond, who is a young central midfielder on the wings. That is hardly attacking is it ? Should have been Green on one wing and someone else on the other, actual wingers. A bit baffling really, but we will have to get use to the 3 centre back system, it’s not changing.

I am happy with Mellon and back him as manager. I just hope we find a middle ground in terms of how we play. This season, that’s not going to happen, he all but confirmed it in his post match interview. As long as we are winning I really don’t care this year, let’s just get in the play offs.

Fair enough, I suppose any Latics fans view will be biased to some extent. Part time teams are Dorking and Wealdstone I believe. They train twice a week (if no Tuesday game) either in a morning or evening. I fully expect our players who train Monday to Friday to be better than them players and beat those teams. We should be far more organised, but we arnt.

I mean, we have probably the 2nd best budget in the league and we struggle to control a game of football in the National League against some part time teams and currently sit 6th. I think that shows we should be doing better ?

I understand what you are saying. But at the same time, I don’t think we should accept not being able to control a game of football for two season. We are not the underdog, we should go out and be on the front foot.
