The likes of Brighton and Brentford do well in regards to the money pit. Sold many a player and found cheaper replacements to help out.

Southampton did it for years until their failure to replace players one season.  That's the risk with this policy.

Considering it’s 2 years since having a proper right back at the club, I wouldn’t trust our recruitment strategy to start finding young talented players to sell on.

Something is fundamentally wrong with our recruitment.

I think a DOF is needed.

  2. Conlon, what a disappointment this lad has been. I hope it’s just his midfield partners making him look bad but he’s so one footed and constantly out of position, it’s bizzare.

The audacity for the prick to come over and clap at the end of the game like the big I am, tit. He’s crap and if his family have talked him out of being here then just fuck off.

Plenty of you, including the decision makers, seem to have been seduced by the track record without maybe thinking about the wider picture.

Was he the right fit character wise? You know his football is dreadful to watch, are you and the fans prepared for that? Did the squad need a disciplinarian or someone with a lighter touch?

I wouldn’t be hiring anyone for this squad. About 6 are worthy of our shirt.

Oh and I never want to Garner and Norwood as a partnership again.

Dallas was very good when he came on, in fairness to him.

Everyone else shite, even my golden boy Norwood was a fucking shambles today. But, he was shifted out wide. Imagine shifting your 33 year old top scorer out wide.

It needs work yes, but there’s to many times under Mellon where they’re all awful, not poor, absolutely awful. When the entire team is repeatedly shit, and many of them have played higher it goes beyond the players.

    Mellon is taking us backwards.

Every single game we have 3 players out of position, every game. We have absolutely 0 width and no options to change things. We still rely on Nathan Sheron to put on a shirt.

The issue isn’t Mellon, the issue is whoever handled/handles recruitment. Whoever the fuck that is as I genuinely don’t know.

I have a big problem IF we do get there, which is a big if. We were originally going on holiday on the Saturday, but I realised in time and managed to change it to the Sunday. I cannot change now, and it’s all paid for. I wouldn’t even be able to watch it as I’d be in the air for the entire game.
After recent weeks I doubt i’ll need to worry, but what would others do in that situation?

For our Liverpool FA Cup tie I let my family go and I met them after the game.

Yes, it would be stupid to keep all the CBs. Rather we give Hogan 12 months and sign a proper DM instead of McGahey. And a proper RB/RWB is even more of a priority.

Seems logical to me. If we release both Hogan and McGahey we would only have to sign another centre back anyways.

  8. I’d imagine the plan is for Sutton to step up and play / cover the centre back role.

We have to many centre backs and if we are deciding between McGahey and Hogan, then relegation specialist McGahey would be binned off in a flash.

Hogan will be a valuable squad player and provide cover and experience.

Raglan and Hobson are more than good enough for this level.

Following the D&R performance, I too lost my enthusiasm for Latics… so much so that I cancelled my trip up for the Fylde game. 😮

I presume it will be available to watch on National League TV so at least I’ll avoid a 400 mile round trip 👍

    Don’t blame you.

After Alti away last year I had to take a two month break for my own health, not an exaggeration.

Going this Monday and hoping I see something different.

Wow that’s a big difference compared to our support players.

I’ve just had a look through our league scores and we’ve blanked 11 times this season. Failing to score in a quarter of the games given our fire power is poor.

    Norwood - 17

    Fondop - 7

    Sheron - 6

    Dickenson - 5 (loaned out)

    Reid - 5 (frozen out)

    Garner - 4

    Green - 3

    Stones - 3

    Hope - 2

    Hogan - 1

    Gardner - 1

Tollitt, Nuttall, Shelton - 1 (loaned out or frozen out)

    Everybody else - 0

Norwood is the problem, get him gone….
