  1. Friday 28th February at the Albert Hall, Manchester. Boom! Also, Moderat. 7th Feb at the same place. A good month (and my birthday, woop)
  2. Guilty m'lud. In other news, music is subjective. I've been listening to Polvo lately, their newest record is a corker.
  3. How can I be showing my musical age at only 31? Kneejerk is the only worthwhile thing Frank Turner has ever done.
  4. Natalie McCool gig was very good, but no more than 20 people there. Today is all about Waxwing. One reunited band I would go and see.
  5. Your anger level on this subject pleases me. I've come to the realisation that any gig I have to buy a ticket for is a red flag. Under six quid on the door in the back room of a real ale pub is more for me. Going to a gig later at the Castle. Half of Old Tom and a 60 'capacity' room to contend with, heaven! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_swdPvY1-yA One earphone in all night listening to Latics Player, of course.
  6. In hindsight, I kind-of want to say that Sigur Ros were better than Godspeed that night, but I was very into Godspeed at the time. I think I saw A Silver Mt Zion at the beginning of the following year at the old Bierkeller too and they were bobbins in comparison. I still love music but I think as I get older, the live experience leaves me cold nearly every time. Went to see these guys a few weeks ago and wanted to kill everybody there.
  7. I refuse to go and see Sigur Ros live after seeing them back in y2k. I cannot run the risk of them not being as mindboggling as they were way back then. That, coupled with my propensity for gig-rage these days, means the chances of this are too high.
  8. This, but modified to include Philly's reaction.... Mellor: "WHAT!! Pies sold out before half time again.. FFS!" Philly: "I knew I should've got one before kick-off but I wasn't hungry thennnnnngggggggghhhhhhhhhhh!"
  9. Enjoyed my foray into Main Stand Lower yesterday. Much louder, angrier crowd but in a fun way! Also impressed/thankful that the rain was entirely vertical and even being in the first few rows = dry as a bone. Might give Main Stand Upper a crack on Tuesday, then it'll back to my usual haunt of being in sleepy old-man section of the 'A' of LATICS in the RRE at the weekend.
  10. I feel like it's just a matter of time before he scores a brace and shuts you all up
  11. Dayton appeal first half should've been a pen, was clearly being held back. Rooney pen could've easily not been given.
  12. Thought he was promising towards the end of last season when I saw him, but that this season whenever he'd come on he was mostly ineffective, nay invisible. But I don't think you play for international U21s because no-one else is available, though. So it was a relief to see that yesterday he was like a new man! That new haircut and them shiny new boots have done the trick, would be very happy to see more of him on the back of that performance. Re: shots going over, wide or landing in the roof of the net.. you've got to have a pop for it to go in, as we've seen both for and against us already this season, all it takes is a :censored:ty bounce or a wrong-footing deflection and it's in.
  13. Went earlier last year, more as a museum nerd than a football fan and thought it was great, much better than Urbis was. That is, all bar the rapidly-accumulating costs of the interactive games. Still, a good afternoon out.
  14. Thought the officials had a good game until the offside goal. I think our protests irritated the ref and everything went Orient's way after that.
  15. Hard earned point, but we should've buried the game and had the chances to do so. Victims of our own piss poor luck, bad decisions and that 15-20 minute period at the end of every game where we let apathy overcome desire. Wesolowski was incredible today.
