  1. Boundary Park, 3pm tomorrow, no guarantees, no refunds.
  2. Forgot to mention that Lanzoni goes in goal after the Oxley red card. LDJ still refusing to play Rachubka, despite him being on the bench. Lanzoni goes on to unanimously win MotM, after saving a last minute direct 30 yard freekick from the edge of the area with a stunning scorpion kick. The final whistle blows with him still in mid-air.
  3. 12-3 home win. Latics concede 3 penalties in 20 minutes 1st half, the third of which Oxley is given a straight red for a two-footed studs-up challenge. Rooney silences his critics with a brace, whilst JCH runs amok with a 7 goal haul. Tarkowski hatrick. Dayton has two goals disallowed for apparantly no genuine reason, whilst Sidney is ruled offside for every single through-ball Korey Smith plays. LDJ sobs uncontrollably at the full time whistle, held tightly in the comforting arms of Billy Quarmby.
  4. Quite liked Rusnak what little I saw of him, but don't think he was that effective in our setup. No big loss.
  5. 3-0 up at half time. Joksts x1, JCH x2. (updates from https://twitter.com/laticsgary)
  6. I'm a Connor Brown fan, but he is going to struggle to oust Lanzoni. Another brilliant foul tonight by the Italian when a replay clearly showed him shoving a Preston forward off the ball and into touch, albeit it errrr.. inside our penalty box and on another day could've seen us conceding another dumb penalty. I still chuckle when I think of his ankle grab the other week. Worra guy!
  7. Is this a joke? nearly every ball I initially thought had been overhit.. only for them to turn into perfectly weighted crosses just BEGGING to be battered into the net. Mills cross-cum-curled top corner shot had me screaming at the telly.. Thought Montano brought little when he came on, would've preferred Sidney staying on. And I really like Montano.
  8. We were excellent throughout, faded a little in the final quarter but finished strong. Outstanding mentions to all the travelling supporters. I didn't hear a single Preston chant at any point during that game on Sky. Oh, and Tarky. Oh my days, the pace he was carrying when he landed from THAT header, I squealed. The back 4 were all great for me tonight, I wish we could keep Mills.
  9. I honestly believe the football world will wake up on Tuesday morning aghast at the superior football of Oldham Athletic. Wouldn't put it past Preston to overconfidantly play 352. They maybe won 3-0 last week, but none of the goals were particularly classy. I predict 3 from Latics, inc. one from a direct free kick.
  10. Preston play without wide midfielders, don't they? Looking forward to seeing Dayts/Monty/Sid bombing down the outside. Really hope Philliskirk starts.
  11. Anyone planning on coercing a Manc city centre landlord into showing it?
  12. http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/news/article/20130904-johnsoncharged-1035227.aspx Further addendum of what a gargantuan prick Ilderton is. The video replay of the incident is more than enough evidence to clearly show it was the wrong decision and that Johnson, whereas perhaps more animated than permitted under whatever blah-di-blah rules, was entirely justified to react the way he did. When 'sent off', he didn't seem to linger and respected the inept official's ruling. I'd hope any FA higher-up would take one look at the video and at Ilderton, and recognise it as a clear example of someone who is a crock at their job doing whatever they can to make themselves look officious and authoritative instead of the fool everyone knows them to be. Absolute tool. Love Johnson the badass, though.
  13. I'd like a 1-3 result with Rooney scoring first
  14. Just watched the FLS highlights. Both penalty decisions totally wrong. Totally robbed.
  15. Agreed. I think the Ox is great, and yeah needs to focus sometimes, but that was not a penalty today. I figured once he'd beat his man to the ball that's be it, but apparently not. Referee was a gargantuan tool.
  16. That's why we have such expressive, quick-footed wingers and why we're playing 442. The amount of times we sliced through their midfield today was unreal, just desperately needed that final ball and finish.
  17. Tranmere were looking for a draw all afternoon. Both big pen calls right in front of me. Our call could've gone either way. Their penalty was so far from an an actual penalty it's untrue. Rusnak looks very promising. Schmeltz is very fun to watch, but needs to realise he doesn't always have to take his man on. Lanzoni almost flawless for 65 minutes then seemingly lost the will to live. Robbed, but we needed to finish out chances.
