  1. Barry Owen's now on sky sports news.
  2. Talksport is pretty interesting for anyone who isnt listening. Just had another Latics fan on, who basically stated he's a football fan and that's how Hughesy would be judged. Someone should go on and mention that the surname Hughes isnt one that will be ringing round the ground anyway
  3. Barry Owen's just been on. 54% think he shouldnt be allowed to play football again.
  4. What station is talksport. I tend to avoid is because of that united numpty terry christian. edit: doesnt matter i've got it online
  5. Take away his past and this is a BIG BIG coup for Latics. His record at West Brom speaks volumes. Especially the 98/99 season when he banged in 32 in the Championship. If he can hit any sort of form similar to that in his past, then i'm sure he'll have been worth the gamble. That said, it is a gamble but one i'm pleased with taking. He has the ability to set the record straight. Show people whilst he's once again now back in the public spotlight (as it'll be on him a fair bit), that he as seen the wrong doing he has done and how Prison has hopefully changed him for the better. I'm guessing those are along the same line's he's told Sheridan, which has made him J.S take the gamble. He wont be on anywhere near the sort of money you'd expect he was on earlier in his career either. If it was anyone, you'd expect now that a club has taken a chance and given him a lifeline he probably thought he'd never have - that he'll try his upmost to pay us back.
  6. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...eoid=2030717159 as well as youth team boxing in the changing rooms. http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseacti...eoid=2030717632
  7. Ah. So that is you who stopped me scoring. The ball came across, just about to tap it in and you barely beat me to it. Quality tackle that. Not as good as that one on Sheridans World by that woman I'm just suprised everyone who was out till 3am last night wasnt sick. You could see the one's who'd been out. We were all lying on the ground after 5 minute's. Sheridan's World counting and shouting out how many time's I slipped on my arse. I think it was about 18 by the end of the game. Own fault for wearing trainers. Some good players there, just a shame they all seemed to be on the opposite side pish Heads Athletic 4-7 Sober FC.
  8. I'll inform him to stop being a wimp.
  9. He's just text me saying, 'is it still raining', may give it a miss. There should be a few out with some almighty hangovers
  10. Me, Wayne. Bring it on. I'll probably be too drunk to dive. At least, that'll be my excuse. Not sure about the Seasiders game. That's an idea though. Guess the White Hart would have it on if you asked? I've told Wardle who to ask, who'd definately come too boost the numbers
  11. I'm in. I'll be hungover, so i'll bagsy being keeper.
  12. Watched it last night online. Very impressed with it. Loved how the cast seemed to have an abundance of freedom to work with, rather than what was just wrote down for them. Little Sean mentioning "Classic" about 18 times after they pulled off a stunt to their mate. No american director would have give them the freedom. It just seemed alot more realistic than anything similar the Yanks have tried to pull off in the past. There is some absolute beltiers of one liners in the film. It's hard to actually go into it without much detail, as anything you'd say would spoil it for those who havent seen it, which I dont like doing. The one thing I seemed to like most about it, is it did have an 80's feel of it. Which is what it's supposed to have. Hard to do, especially given alot of the Cast more than likely werent even born at the time. Best performance has to go to the guy who played 'Combo', the scouser. One of the best British films i've seen a while and easily the best film so far of 2007. "You might look about four, but you kiss like a 40 year old."
  13. Most will be too ill from last night's drinking to bother beardy.
  14. He's one of the Stewards from the corner of the Paddock nearest the away end. Seen it before, but kind of confirms why they've sent the police in to do their job the past few months. That dive still makes me laugh. The swansea fan's calling the steward must cringe when they see that video
  15. Looking at the players available. 3-5-2 would seem the better formation but I wouldnt want to leave the likes of Chris Armstrong out, so i'd opt for a 4-4-1-1. Poggy Eardley Fitz Hall Clint Hill Chris Armstrong Liddell (right wing) - may not be the fastest but his assists speak volumes to the quality he has. He wouldnt even need to take set peices as Eyresy's in mine Wellens Murray Eyresy (left wing) Andrews Porter Bench - Blayney Gregan Tony Carss Chris Taylor Paul Warne --------- We were very unfortunate with the 2003 team, that the standard was so high. I think if we had that side we did from 2003 now, we'd of gone up automatically. Think they were just a bit better than what we have now, especially at the back. Plus if it was a choice of which side i'd rather have facing blackpool. I suppose you'd ultimately have to go for the better attacking side, which I think we have now, but i'd feel alot more confident about keeping Blackpool out with One Size and Clint Hill marking Parker and co.
  16. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CP8rb_iOAZo Just come across this from Swansea away. Clip from the 2nd half, were the guy spends most of the time filming the back of my head. Some very funny chants from the time and gives a good reflection of the atmosphere amongst the 400 'tics there on the day who didnt shut up the entire 2nd half. Shame no one joined in with my Rocky chant though. The Bleeders I'm suprised I could even stand at that point. Shed Load of booze on the way down from about 9am on the train, shed load of lager (and shots of whiskey) in the pub before the game and a few in the ground. By all rights that Hitleresque Welsh Steward should have thrown me out after 5 minute's, when he had words about persistant standing. Nevermind. One of my favourite away's this season, if not my favourite. Shame there's no clips of the train journey home. Listen out for Frankly Mr Shankly's rendition of "were going up as f**kin champions" - Quality stuff.
  17. They most certainly are. They went up in my mind more so than never, at Brentford away this season. We walked past the team coach where Blitz was stood outside talking. When we came out at 5 to Three of the pub, we came across three lads who were very happy as they'd just spent some time talking with Corney and Blitz and had been handed some free tickets. They'd only left the pub a few moments before us as well. Still, cant fault the three amigo's for giving some complimentary tickets to three lads (and more according to them) who'd made the journey down to see Latics.
  18. As someone who when we were in dire times and did make the ultimate step of getting the buckets out. I know full well what away fans contributed a fair amount of money to our campaign as I collected along with Mr Wilson (before he p1ssed off to the Royle Bar about 2pm everyweek) at the away end. He'd generally make his excuses and leave just after all the coaches had been and gone. I love how Blackpool and Tranmere fans make the bucket jibes, yet we never collected from the latter. We collected twice from Blackpool. Once in the league, where they tried to rob a certain D.Wilson's bucket on the hill in between the RRE and the Lookers. The second time was for York City, as it followed the Notts County game the previous weekend and the decision had been made that they were in the greater need of the three clubs at the time. I told a fair few Seasiders that it was for York City due to them being in serious trouble and I remember full well the reply I got. "Well I dont give a sh1t, I wouldnt give them my money either." All we got off Blackpool fans was a load of grief and pennies at the most. The Worst set of fans by far that we actually collected from. If I could actually log on JK today, I'd put them straight but for some reason it wont let me. There was one however. Nice female Seasider who did stick a note in the bucket for the F.A Cup game. The rest on the whole were d**kheads!
  19. Exile. Do you play this game blindfolded?
  20. Darryl Duffy - Hull City - Striker - Went on loan to Hartlepool at the start of the season. Scored 5 in 10. Recently been on loan at Swansea and scored 5 in 5. Has said this past week he'd like to make the move to Swansea permanant.
  21. LOL. Derek bought 40. He pulled out his wad to me in the White Hart last night just to prove it. People were getting 12 tickets, etc. Suprised there's not been a notice saying they're sold out already. I got up at quater to 7. Snuck in the queue half way and then had my ticket in hand by about 9. Good going. Actually, I dont know what time it was as I didnt have a watch. Though I did get annoyed at the amount of butties and brews flying round, as I didnt have a clue where they were coming from. Pretty good how people left the queue to go and have random conversations with people and then people would let them go back to there original place. Titch. How do you feel about Johnny H turning up at 7 and going straight to the front. . You should have sent him too the back Oh, and that stadium petition. Signed it for the 8th time. Had to use my mum's name this time. I'll have done my entire family's if they keep shoving it in my face all the time. Cheers to everyone who offered me a Season Ticket yesterday. Think I got about a dozen offers!
