  1. Its so funny though , And youcan see Marshy doing that.
  2. Just a snippett from the spirerites board ..... nothing like football to have differing opinions !! Chesterfield are not as good as they think they are ,it might be closer than they think come May. Everything they did yesterday apart from one corner was done to perfection. They stopped us.But this close season they probably spent just as much as us on players, players who have been EFL recently so you expect a certain level of capability out of them. Not every team in this division has that level of capability so when they have been shown the blue print on how to set up against us, we on the other hand have the higher capabilities in our attack to overcome it.It's a game of probabilities when all is said & done. Teams will come and set up the same against us, but we have so many different options going forward that they have got to be near perfect to stop us and that isn't going to happen everytime we play. Let them all set up the same against us, we'll be better prepared to go up against it and win.Either way, we're still gonna win more than we'll lose or draw and we'll still be champions come May.
  3. I watched a lot of games last season involving Gateshead and he was a stand out player in most games with a high number of assists, and chipped in with a few goals. My view he is a different player to Shelton and Sheron who could help to balance out our midfield when they are all fit and the next target is acquired . I agree Lundstrum isnt going to lift the midfield on his own . Once we get the midfield sorted with the players out and another addition we should be looking good . Then I will judge Unsworth after a decent run of games. No managers are infallible at this level even Cook made tactical errors yesterday and used his subs badly. Guess we will see soon.
  4. Suggest you look at his performances last year at Gateshead , Not the pre season training games.
  5. Dont recall Hudson having to make a direct save from open play.
  6. Well it appears the morons who claim to support our team may just have handed three points to Chesterfield. Oh the irony, make us play the next 5 home games behind closed doors .
  7. All this stocking up on here and elswhere will kill the golden goose slowly but surely . I feel he will walk away if it continues and we know where that leads to .We need to be patient, yes we need midfielders who can influence the game. If thats the players out injured plus a new signing so be it . Yes we where second best today , but Chesterfield are not Wrexhan or Notts County and neither are we yet. Four games in and we are seeing this shit get fckn real people.
  8. Did anyone see Nuttalls wonderful first touch and sublime pass to Norwood .
  9. Reality is we have a point away at the team fancied to win the league , with a midfield lacking 2 possibly 3 starters.
  10. Could of had a couple more with a bit of luck . Liking the looks of Freeman very calm and composed so far.Dickenson looks good and Norwood is very dangerous.
  11. Funny the 20 other players we used last year and moved on havnt said anything . Post above classic example of bollocks!!
  12. How do you know their lack of fitness ? My info from a Southend fan is that was a smoke screen .Playing against siege mentality is always difficult , which is what Mather created . Its one game, massive over reaction again fron the haters as usual which will never change . They exploited our main weakness no right back which admittedly should have been fixed before yesterdays game but another signing we made took over resources. I wonder if covid has been an issue around the squad which would explain certain players not getting as many game time minutes. This would also explain tiredness in the last 10 minutes, as well as being down to ten men. And there was a lack of info from the club for a while . As dissapointing as it is lets hope its a one off , and keep hold of all the positive things we now have as a club. I think there are more great days to come this season which will erase the memory of yesterday .And hopefully a right back this week . Sutton needs to go out on loan to play in his no5 position .
  13. Well im staggered by this signing never thought it would happen . Anyone who has any doubt about how immense this signing could be should head over to the Barnsley forum (if its not in meltdown mode ) and check the reaction out . Some fans were saying they should quote Wrexham a 7 figure fee .This could be the difference between us and Chesterfield , at this moment I believe he would walk into any league 1 side . What a signing , what a club we have now . Thank you Mr Chairman
  14. Just to put a bit of reality on this the last time Fondop scored double figures in the league was with Chesterfield 2019 when he managed 10. A scoring feat he managed on two more occasions once in the ECFL Premier Division in 2014 , and again in the Isthmian League Premier Division in 2015 . So all in all we are trying to pair two from our current crop of strikers who all have there own unique qualities wether it be big, strong , quick, skilfull, . The main problem I currently see is you could not bet your house on one of the scoring consistently and bagging 20 plus goals this season . I hope I am wrong but just cant see it . I think they will all have a part to play this year if allowed, some more than others . This is why I hope the Norwood rumours are true as this will add a couple of traits missing in our strikers consistancy and killer instinct.
  15. Yes but as Unsworth has said PL clubs are unwilling to let players drop down to league 5. Also I would prefer our strongest eleven to be our own . With loan players supplementing for injuries , supensions, and loss of form.
