  1. We could have an argument. I could tell you off for not using a question mark and you could call me a pedantic old git. Isn't that what we are supposed to do anyway?
  2. Unbelievable anticipation. You can't train for that - you have to be born with it.
  3. I bloody hope so. If he isn't on soon I'm going to fall asleep listening to Ian Wright on the Catalan crisis...
  4. He did indeed. He also scored the most spectacular fluke I've ever seen against us at Selhurst Park (Div 2). Went for a volley, totally mishit it, and it went with as much spin as a table tennis trick shot over Goram's head and into the far top corner.
  5. Thanks for that. I did have his words (badly paraphrased) from the MEN and was going to share them, but hearing it from him is way better. Sounds like exactly what we need, at the least as assistant with a view to being the successor.
  6. Yes, let's get that astonishing improvement into the full light of day - give it it's best perspective. Only 2 games, but the immediate improvement is huge. Good players, well organised, motivated, focused, playing lovely football, scoring goals and winning. Can we just get that in perspective - it beats the shit we've had for the last 20 years, doesn't it?
  7. Lamb tagine for dinner! Edit: or, if you're lucky, camel tagine, that's my favourite!
  8. I think the answer is in the question - they aren't famous for their open and welcoming approach.
  9. I have still not forgiven Lee Dixon for that. And then the BBC didn't even show, on the MOTD highlights, an absolutely cast iron penalty for Latics.
  10. Just over 100 years ago according to this interesting BBC article. Seems like we are due for another big spending spree...
  11. But he's been with us all season training. And in the "few weeks" that he was available we lost a lot of points due to crap goalkeeping.
  12. I'm sorry, don't know what I was thinking of. I've gone back though it all again and Alan Stubbs or Darren Ferguson would be far safer bets, as they already know Serie C League 1. And, of course, Neil Warnock ticks all the right boxes...
  13. I do like your user name and most of the stuff that you write, but sometimes you go all Grumpy Old Bastards !
  14. More chance of getting a promotion with us - which is great for his CV!
  15. After Peter Clarke's post Posh interview it's Au revoir Johny Dickfingers, bonjour Johny The Cat. Or should that be Johny Le Chat ?
  16. Considering that they are on loan, I am really impressed with the passion shown by Doyle and Byrne for OAFC. And of course they are very good. If we can sign them it will be great.
  17. Unbelievable. Thank goodness we scored more goals than the other team, even with 10 men.
  18. Thanks, got it. I'm sure that one's true, but it doesn't account for the 1/3 of the squad that have been missing from injuries incurred in training and practise matches. Hopefully we will improve in this area.
  19. Also, if they are out for weeks with muscle injuries, do they actually end up being more strong and fit? I'd say "no".
  20. That would be my guess. Somewhere in there the stretching, mobility, conditioning, warmup, whatever must be going wrong. Or just getting them to do kung fu sessions every week or whatever the heck they are up to. But it really is a disgrace how many non contact injuries we have.
  21. The amount of these injuries that we have (non contact injuries, basically pulled muscles) is astonishing and totally unprofessional. Something is very wrong in the training and fitness regime.
