  1. There's a picture there of Baxter having his headshot picture taken. No sign of the headshot itself though.
  2. I had to drop him to the bench. He wasn't taking it seriously.
  3. Does anyone know of a source for the new headshots other than the fishal? Especially for Baxter and Montano.
  4. Can't see it happening to be honest. I think he'll sign for Glasgow Rangers.
  5. Ideal I suppose. i'm just going off form and personal opinion. I'm ignoring injuries. I'll do a new one on Saturday based on the team selection. Hopefully I'll get to do another one sooner if we can get that centre back.
  6. Jesus Allah Krishna!! Jason Biggs in American Pie was less premature than this.
  7. One thing is clear already with Johnson. If he fails it will be whilst entertaining us. High pressure, high line, plenty of pace and flair suggest that the level of success that we attain will be down to how solid our defending is. He comes across (so far) as highly organised, motivated, with plenty of ideas and good man management skills. Time will tell, but overall I think we have better reasons than we have had since the Big Joe days to be optimistic.
  8. Ok I have to ask. I've seen his name so many times, and so often he's the but of jokes or hate, yet I have no idea. I obviously missed the initial memo, so who is this Billy Quarmby? And please, no smart arse response like "noone knows". What has he done, how has he managed to get into a position to do it and why do people think x,y,z about him?
  9. I can only conclude that you have a short memory. I have seen significantly worse.
  10. Does anyone know who the 50 year old skinny black guy on the "AWAY KIT REVEALED 20.07.13" banner is?
  11. Something's a bit odd about that list, can't think what. Although I do feel like Korey Smith is in the same mould as the likes of Gerrard, Keane, Robson, Ince and Steven Schumacher
  12. The actual starting eleven (ignore the subs) for tonight's match is in fact: Maybe Lee Johnson reads these forums
  13. Was Purdie injury prone? Or did he just pick up one really bad injury, which was misdiagnosed for a while, before his career with us could get going? btw I must admit to a having my own concerns about players "lifting heavy objects" during the army bootcamp. I can understand how valuable the team bonding / leadership part of the three day experience is, but if anything might encourage the odd strain or pull, it's the kind of stuff that goes on during army training (especially if you aren't used to it) Kind of reminds me when I used to play Sunday League I'd have to refuse to engage in dodgy or poorly thought out exercises such as leg raises or piggy back racing. But it's over now. Hopefully everyone is better for the experience.
  14. It was a double post from an edit i was trying to make to my earlier post. It in effect became a triple post when I tried to edit this accidental repost and I ended up with yet another post. And I still don't know how it all happened. My mind must be melting in the heat..
  15. Does anyone have any theories on how the Rooney situation is going to resolve itself in our favour? At present Rooney is obviously trying to get the money Swindon promised him for the next two years. But he still has a signed contract with them hasn't he? They are just refusing to pay him. Surely they aren't going to pay him in full and cancel his contract at the same time. How do we end up with a situation where he both gets paid and the contract gets cancelled? Is he looking for a partial pay off?
  16. I think LJ is quick to eliminate ambiguity regarding what someone's position is meant to be. He was the same with Kirk Millar. When I was a Personal Trainer, my mentor/tutor at the time was working directly with alot of professional footballers who were working their way back to fitness for whatever reason, usually during the summer. I asked him if he could pick one thing to change about the way that clubs train their players, what would it be. He said that players have their fitness regimes tailored according to their position. If you think about it, it makes perfect sense. A full back, a centre midfielder, a centre back and a winger all have different physical demands and exertions to endure during the match. Those difference can be trained for. If LJ is the student of the game that we think he is, he will have picked up on this and it may be a huge factor (along with the obvious tactical differences) in telling these young players what position they will now be solely focusing on.
