  1. Probably just wearing it to start a convo with a bloke or two. I know a girl who does this, great way of attracting length apparently.
  2. If we had a few more with Taylor's attitude we wouldn't have gone down. For years we have had a team full of players who don't give one fuck about the club. Only going to get worse with the current owner.
  3. No chance the announcement will be made any other way than AL being sat next to Scholes on SSN giving it the big 'un. Loves the camera too much.
  4. Paul Scholes' personal life outside of football is not for a football chat site.
  5. Do you think he is paying him the £300k (he won't be on that by the way) up front in cash? Scholes is in charge of this process IMO. He has things outside of football that cannot be changed so readily (those who know know), legal aspects around Salford and probably wanting to have time to breath. The moment it broke it was reported as being at least 10 days until he is appointed.
  6. Didn’t the papers report when the story was breaking that it would be 10 days until it was announced? Why were people expecting it to be earlier than that? Scholes has things outside of football that need taking care of carefully before making such a huge change in lifestyle not to mention the Salford situation. If he is announced tomorrow then there will be time to sign players, if that is the plan.
  7. Suicide inducing performance on the cards. French lads seeing their arse with Baxter, no Clarke, O'Grady knackered, Vera as fit as Broady after an all inclusive in Benidorm, Wildy seeing out his last game and on the hangover from getting knocked out. Mk Dons 0 - 1 Oldham (Vera, Pen 87)
  8. No but if Dickov was in a position financially to try his foot in for next to nowt I know Mr Scholes can try it. Scholes and Sol Campbell are trying things out. If they fail, they fail, not like they have a mortgage relying on it. If they do ok they will go onto have decent opportunities further up. These guys are the first generation who come out of playing never having to work again. They can dip their toes in and have a go. They are not working for the same reasons most people work.
  9. Given at times he had 3 Donny players on him I'd say they felt he was having a better game than that.
  10. As Dickov did. It's rumoured one other 'recent' manager contributed financially to get the job.
  11. He also picked the side that could well have beaten Donny on Saturday, or is he only picking the team when we play shite?
  12. AL picked the side that beat Fulham so perhaps he should get some of the credit Mr Wild has been getting?
  13. Scholes knows the club, not a chance he'd think the managers job paid 300k a year ffs. Dickov was basically on expenses, 6,000 a week out budget for Scholes? Nonsense.
  14. Coral website showing the game available to view on their site, noticed it as I lumped on Donny at 8/11.
  15. Also if AL fucks about with Scholes he won't be able to give him hush money. It would be all over the papers. Scholes seems a firm man and I am sure it would be a good lesson for AL going forward rather than the rubbing rags he has had so far (bar Shez who walked).
  16. Not sure why everyone is sure Scholes will go tits up. Bowyer is doing a decent job at Charlton. Big Sol seems to have had an impact at Macc, Barton doing an ok job at Fleetwood. Lampard and Gerrard clearly doing very well in different types of clubs. Bar shez we haven't hired an experienced manager for ages. No reason why Scholes won't be a success IMO. Done his coaching badges, knows the town and the club, knows a bit more about lower level footy that he did previously, knows the game clearly and will have very good contacts. I believe those within the club have been informed he is to be announced, as Keith Laird says there is no smoke without fire.
  17. Been advised by someone who knows scholes that he fancies his chances of doing well. Wants the job and will give it his best go. We are waiting for the owner to come back IMO.
  18. Chris Taylor may well be back if not needed at Blackpool. Scholes tried to sign him for Salford.
  19. I'd imagine the delay will be the owner needing to fly back here. No chance he will be announced until AL can get his seedy magnificent face on sky sports news. Have the willy watchers not seen the ginger prince in the showers of the gym yet?
  20. Has to be away from that stand to make money for the club. AL has stated this.
  21. AL has asked a local bar to look at fitting up and also perhaps running a bar in the main stand for fans. I got the impression this wasn't the box but within the stand. He won't be opening a bar in the 'new' stand as the club wouldn't profit from it. Same goes for the unit spaces which are coming free or free in the 'new' stand. They were discussed as the team approach fancied using one of those but again, no money to be made for OAFC. Getting this business on board would be a decent move IMO.
  22. Why would a manager have a problem with an owner providing players? It would only be an issue if the owner starts saying who to pick. A lot of the prem managers do not pick who the club signs and brings in. Modern way of doing things. Also I doubt there is a club in league two with better contacts across Europe than us. It's an advantage not a disadvantage.
  23. Know people who know Wildy. Came across him on nights out a number of years ago, nice fella. Really chuffed for him as many are. All this bollocks about them playing for him, not sure. They would have been up for Fulham with that crowd and some overseas lads getting their first big taste of the famous FA cup come what may. The two other games should have been a reaction to letting Bunn down at Carlisle against poor teams. Wildy has not had reply's back from very non league jobs, he should be seen as a cult figure, given Tony P's gig as reward and then we move on. Latics is a very difficult job and you need someone who ideally knows the job and the game inside out. Wildy doesn't know the pro game and has never been a manager of an adult side bar a few pub level teams. The next manager needs to tick one of those boxes. Hero but I fear if given the gig permanently we could end up changing again at the end of the season. Not what we need. If we were to gamble on someone who has never took the lead of a side I would be looking at Scholes or Clarke, both with an experienced number 2. Both should inspire both fans and players in different ways.
