A game with no meaning, our last few home games once Easter ends our 'play off push'.

We don't really have a local paper and the other local clubs are in turmoil so GMR won't be too arsed. IMO there should have been plans in place for when AL does not reply to the letter. The TV coverage could have been quite a tool to spread the word and apply pressure. A protest at a dead rubber home game won't cut it.

Team are winning, fans aren't arsed that the owner is meddling, until the next time it becomes an issue. At that point we may be where Bury are and it will be too late. Did we not know Easter was coming? The Sky game was an ideal game to target and you've let it pass. Shame really. Could be worth the trust trying to contact Sky and see if they will make comment on the situation.

Not too hard to imagine given the plight of so many North West clubs. As someone said on Twitter, any other business sector and you would say we are saturated and some firms will need to close down. Both grounds are purchased for housing. The money raised is then put towards a ground which will make money 365, modern facilities and the clubs combine and are fan owned. The ground and gate should help said club become self-funding. There is no way the lower leagues will carry the small town poor clubs like Bury, Rochdale and Oldham for much longer. The bubble is going to burst very soon. People with money are too wise to part it on such gambles so you end up with con men taking as much out as they can. I think after a stormy start people would back it as it would have fan buy in. Just my opinion but it may well be that or bust. I'd rather watch a combined side than Latics lite playing in the same league as Ashton or Royton Town.

There would be enough to get it up and running. 1500 from each club would be par with what they get now.

Barring a mega rich owner deciding to do something daft then I think an Oldham and Rochdale merger will happen one day otherwise we will be down with the likes of Ashton United and Stalybridge.

Unless it's someone who has won the Euro lottery best presume they will be wanting to make money. Hearing who possibly one or two are in the group I don't see them just gifting the stadium back to any potential new owner of 'the club'. Why should they? We really should be hearing on their plans in terms of profits from the stand / stadium. For them to get the seeming blessing of the Trust they must have given some reassurances?

He *allegedly* informed a pal of mine, when trying to tout for his business, that there was over a million in debts he didn't know about when he signed the deal. No reason to think he was making it up, perhaps he's just not that bright? Fair play to Corney. Can't fault him eventually doing what was best for him. Hopefully this fans group will put the squeeze on and bring about change but somehow I can't imagine they will be buying the club for nothing but love for latics. They'll be like any landlord wanting they money back and some.

True but removing all match day revenue will hurt him. Not contributing to club funds via site clicks, club shop etc will all be part of it. The Blackpool fans did it very well. Wont be many renewed yet as many know it was a gamble.

Whatever the reason it won't have been to lose lots of money. It's clear his plan has gone badly wrong. Unless he says he wants out he needs pushing out, with our highly paid sporting director.

Financial protest can be the only thing that will affect AL. We aren't high profile enough to get media pressure. If he's a few grand down a week he'll feel that. Why would he stay?

You are almost as irrelevant as the trust you're on, I can view any opinion I like. The trust has said nothing while good staff and people have been treated like shite. I then read a comment about having a "foot in both camps". AL thinks less of you than we do. Put some real words and actions into helping and protecting the fans or pipe down. Its time the trust and those associated cut all ties with AL and went public with the lot. Starve him of cash and he'll walk. He's no assets, remember, the trust sat back while Brassbank took all the clubs assets, still 3% eh. But if you go public you might not have a foot in his camp....... I'm not sure you've even got fucking toe nail in his camp.
