    It was Ripley who held Latics to ransom for his wages...... We have now had 4 keepers this season ....and we sent the best back across the Pennines

    We are getting closer and closer to the corner to be turned....very soon we will be completely round the bend?

    We must have played 1000 games in this league one now....500 at home. That is 750 hours of watching Latics at home ....that is 20 full working weeks! Are we any better or any worse as a team or any further forward or any further back as a club than when we played the first of those games? we play Shrewsbury today...is it just me or do we seem to have just played Shrewsbury or Walsall or just be about to play Shrewsbury or Walsall for the last 20 years

    The title of the thread is refs in general....I am not defending the ref I am defending refs....a ref's clanger can change a game,. Of course it can but 98% of the time it is players at fault but 80% of the time is spent discussing refs....it is a blind alley and a coping strategy

    How was he at fault for their 4 goals? ......would you have said " fair enough" if that penalty had been given against us?

    I had not realised that Joyce had also refereed the Walsall, burton Oxford Blackpool and Wigan games too! ....some referees make mistakes, some are incompetent, some are right when fans think they are wrong....but no team loses 6 matches on the trot conceding 15 goals in the process because of the referee. Any team or supporters getting wound up by the referee with a record like that is in denial.

    His 1 goal since Dec 2016 is one more than Holloway in the same period and his 2 in 4 for Bradford is the same as Holloway has scored in 2 seasons for us. His 15 in 53 is 6 more than Hollowy has scored in his career.....and Holloway apparently is our record signinga

    I know what you mean about most league one keepers saved that but most league one keepers would not have had to save it ...Gerrard defending was a disgrace . Wilson has got a 6 month contract Gerrard is going to steal 2 years money off us

    So we are not allowed to say the players are not good enough? OK in that case the manager must not be good enough to get the best out of the players? .....but we are not allowed to say that either? Ummm must be all down to Banks then?

    Conspiracy theory alert.....our players do look flat and give the impression of playing for a disunited club....my thesis is that Ripley was available to us and the likes of Sheridan and Clarke who "worked on" him understood he wanted to and was coming only for it to be vetoed upstairs....Sheridan and senior players then become disillusioned and feel let down with the situation and that spreads through the club .
